Even start.  Shortly after the start BUTTON PUSHER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after JUST LIKE YAZZA and MINNIE MAYWYN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after MINNIE MAYWYN collided with MOJO DUK resulting in MINNIE MAYWYN to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn MR. BELLISSIMO, SURFBOARD and BUTTON PUSHER were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight JUST LIKE YAZZA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight MINNIE MAYWYN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight MR. BELLISSIMO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight during the run to the finish MOJO DUK and BUTTON PUSHER collided.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race MINNIE MAYWYN turned its head and made muzzle contact with REGAL WAZ.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Essex that the greyhound MINNIE MAYWYN would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 520M

The greyhound VIKING VIXEN underwent a pre race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found and passed fit to race.

 

Even start.  Shortly after the start FROSTY BEJAY and PRATER’S RECRUIT collided resulting in PRATER’S RECRUIT to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Shortly after  PRATER’S RECRUIT turned its head and made muzzle contact with FROSTY BEJAY.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight PRATER’S RECRUIT and PHANTOM PETE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. B Prater that the greyhound PRATER’S RECRUIT would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE 431M

STAR RISE, SHOT TO FAME and READY CETTE were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn SHOT TO FAME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  HAVANA BLACK shifted in and made contact with the running rail and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight HAVANA BLACK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound HAVANA BLACK underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight HURUNUI ALYSSA collided with COUNTY COIN resulting in COUNTY COIN to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight THUNDER OF FIRE improved onto the heels of PEPPER BEACH and was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound COUNTY COIN underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 4/5th GRADE 431M

WILDASH BAM BAM, JIGGLE SPLAT and SNOZZSTA were best to begin.  BANG ON TARGET and SPECIAL VIRTUE were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RAQUEL’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight COSMO CYNDIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight RAQUEL’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  At the same time COSMO CYNDIE and WILDASH BAM BAM collided resulting in WILDASH BAM BAM to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound WILDASH BAM BAM underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 520M

Even start with the exception of PORT LISA and DROP SHORT which were marginally slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SKY BOND and LITE ME UP collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  GAB TAR which was racing to the outside of LITE ME UP was checked as a consequence.  FROSTY AJAY which was trailing was checked as a consequence with FROSTY AJAY and LITE ME UP losing considerable ground.  In the back straight THIRTY EIGHT eased and lost ground.

 

The greyhound GAB TAR underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Peschke that the greyhound THIRTY EIGHT would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks prior to nominating.

MINNIE MARTINI and BANNY ROSE were best to begin. In the back straight, SHUNT MAN was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

LONESOME DUK was best to begin. Through the first turn SHANAE’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room. In the back straight DODGY DANCER,RAPID EXPLOSION and CHULU CHULULU were tightened for racing room and lost ground. BIG WINSTON eased in the front straight during the run to the finish.

 

The greyhound CHULU CHULULU underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Enright that the greyhound BIG WINSTON would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks prior to nominating.  The greyhound underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered cramping and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

The greyhound KYLE THE TANK underwent a pre race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found and passed fit to race.

Even start. In the front straight BLUE ME eased and turned its head in the direction of REGAL HOPE which resulted in both Greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

 

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Broadrick that the greyhound BLUE ME would be charged under Rule 69 Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

Even start with the exception of FIRED UP AGAIN which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start STEP BACK LASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight NASH TATO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FIRED UP AGAIN which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the back straight BENTAXLE checked across the heels of FABULOUS HOPE and lost ground.  LIL MISS PINKY and NASH TATO raced wide over various stages of the race.
