POET SOCIETY and MR. BELVEDERE were best to begin.  SLICE OF CAKE and VEGAS BOY were slow to begin.  In the front straight on the 1st occasion VEGAS BOY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight VEGAS BOY and SPRING PETE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after POET SOCIETY and PHANTOM HOUDINI collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  WAZZA QUEEN which was trailling was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight POET SOCIETY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight SLICE OF CAKE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SLICE OF CAKE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. S Neary in regards to his greyhound’s action approaching the turn into the front straight where the greyhound had been tightened for racing room.  After considering all available evidence stewards gave SLICE OF CAKE the benefit of the doubt if it had breached any rule.

SKY RACING NOVICE 520M

SHAKEY START was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPLENDIFEROUS and AUNTY FREDA collided.  CYCLONE BARCI and WILDASH DIVA which were racing to the outside of AUNTY FREDA were checked as a consequence.  Leaving the front straight AUNTY FREDA was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with WILDASH DIVA resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight CYCLONE BARCI and AUNTY FREDA collided resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  WILDASH DIVA which was trailling was severely checked as a result of this incident and lost considerable ground.  In the back straight SHAKEY START and KURO ROSE collided on a number of occasions.  KURO ROSE was checked as a result of this incident and lost considerable ground.  PHANTON PETE eased when entering the front straight. 

 

The greyhound PHANTOM PETE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the abdominal muscles and was stood down for a period of 3 weeks. Stewards questioned trainer Mr. P O’Reilly in regards to his greyhound’s action in the front straight.  After considering all available evidence stewards gave PHANTOM PETE the benefit of the doubt if it had breached any rule.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 4/5th GRADE 630M

ALOTA AMY and ABBY NORMAL were best to begin.  Shortly after the start EMMA’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight EMMA’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Shortly after the start BANG ON TARGET and VELOCITY CLOVER bumped.  Approaching the 1st turn BANG ON TARGET and SPRING AUDREY collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ON TIGHT LINES was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight MAYWYN IF LUCKY shifted in and made contact with the running rail and lost ground.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN IF LUCKY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Entering the back straight TITLE was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with ONE DOLLAR which then shifted out and collided with POWER OF PENNY resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  LIGHTNING WHITE which was trailing was severely checked, fell and took no further part in the race.

 

The greyhound LIGHTNING WHITE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of MAYWYN PETTYCASH which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MAGOOLEY, HEART FELT CLOUD, SECOND GEAR, SENOR’S SON and GUY FAWKES were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SECOND GEAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight SECOND GEAR checked across the heels of HEART FELT CLOUD and lost ground.

 

The greyhound MAGOOLEY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE 520M

OH GOLLY GOSH was best to begin.  FLYING TWISTER was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start CELS EXPRESS and REPTAR were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight SPRING MARSHALL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  OH GOLLY GOSH raced wide over various stages of the race.

Even start.  Shortly after the start FLAPPING GUMS and COOKIE NO CREAM were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight COOKIE NO CREAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  RATHER DAPPER raced wide in the back straight.  Entering the front straight AVAMAY checked across the heels of THAT HOUDINI and lost ground.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of IORN MONARCH which was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight RICHMOND ROAD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight READY CETTE and RICHMOND ROAD collided on a number of occasions which resulted in both greyhounds losing ground.  Leaving the back straight READY CETTE was tightened for racing room, shifted out and contacted the hindquarters of RICHMOND ROAD resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound RICHMOND ROAD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of COMETRON FLYER which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn ORANGE THUNDER, TOUGH GUY FRIDAY, HAVANA BLACK and SPRING LAUREN were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight TOUGH GUY FRIDAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  HAVANA BLACK which was trailing was severely checked and lost considerable ground as a result of this incident.  Leaving the back straight COMETRON FLYER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MOORE REVENGE and TOUGH GUY FRIDAY which were trailing were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Shortly after SPRING LAUREN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight HAVANA BLACK checked across the heels of TOUGH GUY FRIDAY and lost ground.
