WILDASH CECIL performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m in a time of 25.46
and is now cleared all tracks. The greyhound
GALLON performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a
time of 26.13. The greyhound
FROSTY VANE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of
431m in a time of 26.02 and is now cleared all tracks. The greyhound
SHIMATTA failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m. |

HEAT 1 431M BONDI
GIRL, TRENCH VAPOUR and CATCH ME KEITH were best to begin. At the start MALLEE BULL and WILDASH
THUNDER collided as did BLAZING and EXPECT LESS. In the 1st turn BONDI GIRL was
tightened and lost ground and WILDASH THUNDER that was following was
inconvenienced. At the same time
BLAZING and THUG collided and became unbalanced. Entering the back straight BONDI GIRL
checked off heels and lost ground with BLAZING that was following also
hampered. Entering the top turn
BLAZING was tightened and lost ground. The
greyhound EXPECT LESS underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found
to have suffered post-race distress, and was stood down for a period of 7
days. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT
2 431M OWN GOAL and METRO MANILA were slow to begin while MADRE
was very slow. Shortly after the start
BLUE GIRL BLUE, GOOD GOLLY OLLY and GALWAY KITE collided and were
unbalanced. In the 1st turn
GOOD GOLLY OLLY and GALWAY KITE were hampered. Leaving the 1st turn METRO
MANILA was checked and lost ground.
GOOD GOLLY OLLY that was following was inconvenienced and lost ground
as a result. Entering the top turn
METRO MANILA improved onto the heels of REEF AND BEEF, checking this
greyhound. |

ALPHA 390 FINANCE FINAL 431M SIN CITY
KITTY, DAZE LIKE THESE and SURFBOARD were best to begin. Shortly after the start MAGIC OPULENCE,
CRYSTAL CASCADE and ADAM ROSE HI collided and were unbalanced. Shortly after, SIN CITY KITTY was tightened
and shifted out checking MAGIC OPULENCE, EXEMPTION and SURFBOARD with ADAM
ROSE HI that was following inconvenienced.

5th GRADE 431M PROPER TOFF was best to begin. In the 1st turn WERINA
LIGHTNING, GALWAY EAGLE and SPOT ROSE HI collided causing SPOT ROSE HI and
WERINA LIGHTNING to lose ground.
Entering the back straight CYCLONE BARCI was tightened and lost
ground. Entering the home straight
WERINA LIGHTNING checked off heels and became unbalanced and proceeded to
race wide through the home straight. |

TREMBATH
TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M TOKEN TOFF was slow to begin. In the 1st turn HANNAH JAY JAY,
POSSESSION, ENZO JAZZ and SIGHTZ collided and were unbalanced. POSSESSION, HANNAH JAY JAY and SNOW GIRL
raced tight leaving the 1st turn causing SNOW GIRL to lose
ground. Entering the back straight
SNOW GIRL and SIGHTZ collided. SPRING
COMMAND raced wide in the back straight.
Entering the top turn BUD’S DELIGHT and SPRING COMMAND collided and
both lost ground. |

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M GADSBY’S ROAD and FROSTY AJAY were best to begin while
NOVELLA was slow. In the front
straight ARE YOU THERE shifted out and raced wide and continued to race wide
through the 1st turn.
Shortly after the start JUST SPIFFING, FAB FIT and SALUDOS raced
tight. In the 1st turn BEAU
WONDER and FAB FIT collided, became unbalanced and lost ground. JUST SPIFFING and NOVELLA that were
following were inconvenienced as a result.
Leaving the 1st turn BEAU WONDER checked off heels and
collided with NOVELLA and both greyhounds were momentarily hampered. The greyhound FAB FIT underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound BEAU WONDER underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M COSADO SUN was best to begin while REFUND REQUIRED was
slow. In the front straight REFUND REQUIRED
was hampered as LONESOME HERO shifted out.
In the 1st turn SIX GUN checked off heels and lost
ground. LONESOME HERO was wide in the
1st turn and in the back straight.
APACHE BROOK was wide in the back straight. The greyhound LONESOME HERO underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered stress, and was stood down for a
period of 7 days. |

CONSTRUCTION 4/5th GRADE 431M LUCKY SALLY and SPRING HOUDINI were
best to begin while BONKNOCKA BEANS was slow.
In the 1st turn SANTA CLAWS, TOO MANY BILLS and SPRING
BENNY raced tight and unbalanced causing SPRING BENNY and TOO MANY BILLS to
lose ground. Entering the top turn
ASTIN’S WARRIOR shifted out and hampered GOLD RAINS that was following. |

SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M SPRING DORRIE and ROAD CAM were best to begin while
MYRNIONG FLOYD was slow. In the 1st
turn GIFTED PINES, KYLE THE TANK and PAY THE WAY all came together and lost
ground to varying degrees. Entering
the top turn ROAD CAM was tightened and forced to shift out. The greyhound KYLE THE TANK underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered a back strain, and was stood down for
a period of 10 days. |

5th GRADE 431M Trainer of BELVEDERE BABE Mr. R Attard reported to
stewards that the greyhound had on a previous occasion been unsettled by the
preview, prior to the race. The
greyhound subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was
passed fit to start. BELVEDERE BABE, SOCIAL, AILLA and GOLD SHERONA were best
to begin. At the start SOCIAL and
BELVEDERE BABE collided and were unbalanced.
At the same time SPRING ERNIE and BIG DIPPA came together. In the 1st turn SOCIAL was
tightened between AILLA and BELVEDERE BABE and fell, taking no further
competitive part in the event. AILLA
and BELVEDERE BABE raced tight and unbalanced for a short distance. Leaving the 1st turn AILLA,
SPRING ERNIE, BIG DIPPA and BELVEDERE BABE collided heavily causing BELVEDERE
BABE to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. BIG DIPPA, SPRING ERNIE and AILLA lost
ground as a result of this incident. Entering
the back straight BE FEARLESS and GOLD SHERONA collided. Approaching the top turn AILLA checked off
heels and lost ground. The greyhound SOCIAL underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound BELVEDERE BABE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
