1.

SWIFTS RLFC MAIDEN 431M

REEF AND BEEF were best to begin.  Shortly after the start GALWAY ALICE and SHAKEY SHOW were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race METRO MANILA and BONDI GIRL collided.

BLACKALL STREET BUTCHERY NOVICE 431M

WILDASH DIVA was best to begin.  Shortly after the start EDGY and TRENCH VAPOUR collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn LAZZA MANAZZA, WERINA LIGHTNING and TRENCH VAPOUR all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees with WERINA LIGHTNING losing ground.  EDGY which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight LAZZA MANAZZA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight LAZZA MANAZZA improved onto the heels of SURE SHOT resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight LAZZA MANAZZA improved onto the heels of TRENCH VAPOUR resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight TRENCH VAPOUR and SURE SHOT collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound LAZZA MANAZZA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind toe and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

UNBLOCK PLUMBING & DRAINAGE 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start BIG DIPPA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn CANDY CRUISE and SMASHNIAK TASER were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  LONESOME HERO raced wide rounding the turn into the back straight.  MAYWYN IF LUCKY was hampered as result and raced wide.  LONESOME HERO and MAYWYN IF LUCKY raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.  Entering the front straight BIG DIPPA and WILDASH WANDERER collided.  Shortly after CANDY CRUISE and SMASHNIAK TASER collided.

MCNAMARA & ASSOCIATES 3/4th GRADE 520M

WINDY GIRL and OH GOLLY GOSH were best to begin.  LITTLE MISS SHOW and OUTBACK SUNSHINE were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight LITTLE MISS SHOW was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight NATURAL LAD checked across the heels of WILDASH SEMI and lost ground.  OH GOLLY GOSH and WILDASH SEMI raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

COURT PLUMBING & DRAINAGE 4/5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of LIL’ BIT SPARKY and CAPRA ROSS which were both marginally slow to begin and COLD HARD TRUTH being slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn AUGUST FLAME and JURY collided resulting in JURY to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight CAPRA ROSS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  JURY which was traillling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

STACEY ELECTRICAL 4/5th GRADE 630M

ARE YOU THERE was best to begin.  Entering the front straight on the 1st occasion EL CHAD and CHAMPAGNE SALLY collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight AUSSIE DIAMOND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  At the same time EL CHAD and CHAMPAGNE SALLY collided which resulted in CHAMPAGNE SALLY to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound CHAMPAGNE SALLY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SEYMOUR QUALITY ROOFING 5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ZIVA’S LASS, WHAT A MESS and TOBI TINKLER raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the front straight THAT’S SUPER was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with DAISY RUMBLE resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  DISCO DOLLY and BITTA BLUE which were trailling were checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound DAISY RUMBLE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

8.

ACE ELECTRICAL 5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start AVAMAY was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.  Leaving the front straight LONESOME DUK improved onto the heels of SIZEABLE, shifted out and collided with AVAMAY resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  LONESOME DUK commenced to give ground rounding the turn into the front straight.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race AVAMAY turned its head in the direction of KNEW YOU WOULD which was racing to its outside and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment.

 

The greyhound AVAMAY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Curtis that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

The greyhound LONESOME DUK underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

MGM TROPHIES 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn BELVEDERE BABE improved onto the heels of LUCKY SALLY and was checked as a consequence.  CHOC LATTE CLOUD which was racing to the outside of LUCKY SALLY was checked as a result of this incident.

MADAMA LOOPSY, SHEZA RULER, MAKE TODAY COUNT and WILDASH NELLY were best to begin.  LIL’ MISS PINKY and GOT THERE were both slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MAYWYN’S YING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn SHEZA RULER and WILDASH NELLY collided on a number of occasions resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight MADAM LOOPSY improved onto the heels of SHEZA RULER resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  LIL’ MISS PINKY raced wide in the back straight.
