Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound SLAYER RETURN performed a satisfactory whelping trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.67 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

BONDI GIRL and JOJO BELLE were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ALIRYAH’S GIRL and MADRE were momentarily hampered.  In the 1st turn BONDI GIRL, TECHNO’S GLORY and MADRE collided and became unbalanced.  Approaching the top turn ZABDON MCGREGOR was tightened and momentarily hampered.  Shortly after, ZABDON MCGREGOR and METRO MANILA collided.  In the top turn MADRE improved onto the heels of ALIRYAH’S GIRL and both greyhounds were checked and lost ground.  In the home straight ALIRYAH’S GIRL and BONDI GIRL collided.

 

Stewards had some concerns with the actions of ALIRYAH’S GIRL when racing in the home straight however, could not be comfortably satisfied that there was sufficient evidence to pursue a charge against the greyhound.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

SUB and REEF AND BEEF were best to begin while ABLAZE and WAZZA QUEEN were slow.  Shortly after the start GALWAY HYPERACT, WILDASH THUNDER and SUB collided and were unbalanced.  Shortly after, SUB turned its head and shifted out towards REEF AND BEEF which was racing to its outside, colliding with this greyhound.  In the 1st turn GALWAY HYPERACT, WILDASH THUNDER, ISOBELLA’S MAGIC and FROSTY BLACK JAY collided and were unbalanced.  Shortly after, WILDASH THUNDER, FROSTY BLACK JAY and ISOBELLA’S MAGIC again collided and lost ground.  In the top turn GALWAY HYPERACT and REEF AND BEEF came together and were unbalanced.  At the same time WILDASH THUNDER and FROSTY BLACK JAY both raced wide through the top turn and collided, losing significant ground.  ISOBELLA’S MAGIC that was racing to the inside of these greyhounds shifted out in the top turn.

 

The greyhound ISOBELLA’S MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SUB underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. T. Guymer that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

The greyhound WILDASH THUNDER underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near side shoulder, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

STAR RISE and BARNEY BE GOOD were best to begin while SENTRY’S CALL and SPECIAL SHOW were slow.  In the 1st turn SENTRY’S CALL checked off heels.  Leaving the 1st turn PRATER’S SAINT shifted out and collided with GALVO causing PRATER’S SAINT to become unbalanced and lose ground and GALVO to race wide.  Entering the top turn SENTRY’S CALL and ASICLAO raced tight causing ASICLAO to lose ground.

SHAYLOR BART was best to begin while RUMBLING JAKE and SHAYLOR LES were slow.  In the 1st turn MAYWYN IF LUCKY and SHAYLOR CLEDUS collided and became unbalanced as did SHAYLOR LES, DOUBLE SWATZA and MAYWYN’S COPY.  Leaving the 1st turn SHAYLOR CLEDUS was tightened and lost ground.  Entering the top turn RUMBLING JAKE checked off heels.  Leaving the top turn SHAYLOR LES was hampered.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

PIPELINE PIP, STAR RING and LONESOME HERO were best to begin while SECRETIVE INTENT was slow.  In the 1st turn SECRETIVE INTENT was momentarily hampered.  Shortly after, DAY TIME FRIEND was checked.  Leaving the 1st turn TIM AND NIEL checked off heels and lost ground.  LONESOME HERO was wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound DAY TIME FRIEND underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned on the poor performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. M. Boody advised stewards that it was the greyhound’s 1st start back from a short spell resulting from a hip support injury.  Mr. Boody believed that the greyhound would be better for the run.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

GIFTED ANGEL and HANG ON LADS were best to begin while CAPRA ROSS was slow.  BONKNOCKA BEANS began very slowly.  In the 1st turn GIFTED ANGEL, I’M GLAD, CAPRA ROSS and BRONX NATION were all hampered.  Entering the back straight I’M GLAD was tightened and became severely unbalanced and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight BRONX NATION and CAPRA ROSS collided and were unbalanced.  HANG ON LADS was wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound CAPRA ROSS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound I’M GLAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

DAVID’S LAST RUN 4/5th GRADE FINAL 431M

SOCIAL was best to begin while COLD HARD TRUTH was slow.  VEGAS BOY was very slow.  In the 1st turn LIL MISS PINKY, LUCKY CALL, MAYWYN OPALS, GALA SHOW and TITLE all collided and became unbalanced with LIL MISS PINKY, LUCKY CALL and GALA SHOW losing ground.  COLD HARD TRUTH that was following was hampered.  A short time after, VEGAS BOY was severely inconvenienced on the heels of LUCKY CALL.  LIL MISS PINKY was wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound LUCKY CALL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SPRING RECALL was best to begin.  In the 1st turn RED COAT and SPRING HOUDINI were checked and shifted out, hampering GUTENBERG and ASTIN’S WARRIOR that were following.  Entering the home straight LALIQUE shifted out hampering RED COAT.  SPRING RECALL checked off heels in the home straight.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

AIM was best to begin.  In the 1st turn BLAKE’S TURN and SPRING LOYAL and became unbalanced and lost ground.  In the 1st turn HAYVILLE GEORGE checked off heels and collided with STAR BILLING.  Entering the top turn RAQUEL’S MAGIC and STAR BILLING raced tight and unbalanced.  In the top turn SAMANTHA BENZ shifted out causing HAYVILLE GEORGE that was following to be inconvenienced.  In the top turn BLAKE’S TURN and STAR BILLING collided.

 

The greyhound BLAKE’S TURN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Even start.  In the 1st turn SPRING NAKANO checked off heels.  SPARKLE LASS, MAYWYNS NOISE, FOXY BE GOOD, HEZA SIZE UP and MAKE TODAY COUNT all collided and became unbalanced.  In the top turn SPARKLE LASS shifted out hampering HEZA SIZE UP.  In the top turn FOXY BE GOOD checked off heels and collided with MAKE TODAY COUNT.  Leaving the top turn SPRING NAKANO shifted out checking FOXY BE GOOD which became severely unbalanced and lost ground.  MAKE TODAY COUNT that was following was also severely inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound FOXY BE GOOD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
