Even start with the exception of IDLE MAN and GALWAY PUMA which were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start GALWAY PUMA gave ground and retired from the race.  Through the 1st turn SUPER FLICK, ZABDON MCGREGOR and GLORIA’S CHOICE all raced tight resulting in SUPER FLICK and ZABDON MCGREGOR to collide and lose ground.  In the back straight IDLE MAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SLICE OF CAKE improved onto the hindquarters of GRAVEL shifted out and collided resulting in ANY WHICH WAY to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight SLICE OF CAKE turned its head in the direction of GRAVEL and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment.

 

The greyhound SUPER FLICK underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. S Neary that the greyhound SLICE OF CAKE would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue plus injury, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.  The greyhound underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore foot and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

The greyhound GALWAY PUMA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Galloway that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M

JESS ROSE HI was best to begin.  SPECIAL SHOW was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn ABLAZE and OWN GOAL were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after ARFA SHOW OFF and NO LIMITS collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ARFA SHOW OFF and NO LIMITS collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race CIANNA’S ANGEL and JESS ROSE HI collided resulting in CIANNA’S ANGEL to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound CIANNA’S ANGEL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of trainer Mrs. K Hoggan said that the greyhound was up in weight today which may have effected its overall performance however, she was of the view that CIANNA’S ANGEL at this stage of its racing career may not be able to run over the 431m and it would be her intention in its immediate future to restrict its racing where available to races less than 431m.

GREYHOUND-DATA.COM NOVICE 431M

Even start with the exception of JUMP TO IT which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start CHIPPIE ROSE HI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn OPTIMYSTIC, CHIPPIE ROSE HI and GALWAY EAGLE raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight CHIPPIE ROSE HI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight GALWAY EAGLE improved onto the heels of OPTIMYSTIC resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CHIPPIE ROSE HI improved onto the heels of GALWAY EAGLE.  Rounding the turn into front straight OPTIMYSTIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after CHIPPIE ROSE HI and GALWAY EAGLE collided.  PRATER’S SAINT raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight and in the front straight.

 

The greyhound PIPE OF PEACE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound OPTIMYSTIC underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the back and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Even start with the exception of TWIN GALAXY, ONE IN SIX and JIMARY NAVIGATOR which were all marginally slow to begin.  Entering the front straight on the 1st occasion TWIN GALAXY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight JIMARY NAVIGATOR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FLYING TWISTER raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight on the final occasion.  In the front straight during the run to the finish THUNDER OF FIRE and FLYING TWISTER collided resulting in FLYING TWISTER to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound FLYING TWISTER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

Even start with the exception of LORD LACHLAN and DAB LIVY DAB which were both marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn LONESOME HERO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn OUTBACK STORM and TORNEY were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight OUTBACK STORM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight LORD LACHLAN shifted out and collided with FARAHMAC resulting in FARAHMAC to be checked and lose ground.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5Th GRADE FINAL 431M

AIM and MAYWYN REWARDS were best to begin.  BONKNOCKA BEANS was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MAYWYN EMERALDS was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.  SAMANTHA BENZ and BONKNOCKA BEANS which were both trailing were severely checked as a result of this incident.  PIPELINE PIP commenced to give ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  BONKNOCKA BEANS which was trailing was severely checked and fell as a consequence.

 

The greyhound BONKNOCKA BEANS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PIPELINE PIP underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN EMERALDS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the back and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Even start.  Shortly after the start MISS PIGGY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after SIZEABLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SIZEABLE improved onto the heels of MISS PIGGY and lost ground.

GJ WALSH & CO 3/4th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of COOPOLLY BEACH which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start GUY FAWKES was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight GUY FAWKES improved onto the heels of MY AWESOME MAGIC resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight KLOEIS PRIDE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MAYWYN IF LUCKY raced wide rounding the turn into the home straight.

 

The greyhound MY AWESOME MAGIC underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Ms. C Pollard informed stewards that she had only taken care of the greyhound on Tuesday 22 August 2017 from its previous trainer Mr. T Brett and whilst she was informed that greyhound had been trialled well leading up to the race she was expected a forward showing.  On review of its previous race performances Ms. Pollard informed stewards it would be her intention to build the greyhound up to race over the longer distance of the 520m and 600m as she was of the view that MY AWESOME MAGIC was doing its best in the latter stages of the race.  When questioned over the locality of her training establishment Ms. Pollard informed stewards that she had moved from Emerald to kennels located within the Brisbane Greater region and had notified the Commission that she had moved kennels.  She further stated the greyhound had not started since 10 March 2017 due to an injury which she has now been treated and expected that the greyhound would improve with future race starts.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn BELVEDERE BABE and MISS HIPSTA collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight MISS HIPSTA improved onto the heels of WILDASH WILLOW and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight BELVEDERE BABE shifted out which hampered the running of MISS HIPSTA.

 

When questioned over performance of MISS HIPSTA trainer Mr. J McHugh explained the greyhound had just returned into his care after racing in New South Wales and he was expecting a forward showing.  He said that whilst MISS HIPSTA races best when leading and after suffering some interference in the early stages he was disappointed with its overall performance.  He further stated he supported the greyhound in tonight’s event and it would be his intention to race it over the 520m in its near racing future.

HAPPY 100th AT IPPY DEANO 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of AZTEC FLASH which was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn STOLE MY HEART was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight FLASHING FERGO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SHAYLOR BART which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.
