Even start with the exception of GOOD DAZE AHEAD which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn LILLY PILLY LASS, GOOD DAZE AHEAD and GEMMA’S BLUE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight LILLY PILLY LASS and GOOD DAZE AHEAD collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight FROSTY SKY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight KIA BE GOOD and GEMMA’S BLUE collided.  In the front straight SIXTEEN WINX and FROSTY SKY collided resulting in FROSTY SKY to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound FROSTY SKY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

REEF AND BEEF and VIKING WHITE were best to begin.  QUINTUS MAXIMUS was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn NURBURG, BLAZIN’ CRUSHER, ZAZU’S HEADACHE and HYPO SHOW collided resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn HYPO SHOW and FREE PRESS collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  At the same time QUINTUS MAXIMUS and BLAZIN’ CRUSHER collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight QUINTUS MAXIMUS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after ZAZU’S HEADACHE and HYPO SHOW collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight ZAZU’S HEADACHE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight HYPO SHOW improved onto the heels of QUINTUS MAXIMUS resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight QUINTUS MAXIMUS collided with ZAZU’S HEADACHE resulting in QUINTUS MAXIMUS to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound QUINTUS MAXIMUS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ZAZU’S HEADACHE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HYPO SHOW underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start BLACK KOALA and WISE MISTY collided resulting in BLACK KOALA to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn WISE MISTY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight WILLY TOULA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight WISE MISTY improved onto the heels of BONDI GIRL which hampered the running of both greyhounds.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn SHORT SESSION, ELEGANT DUK, GRAVEL and GLORIA’S CHOICE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight GRAVEL was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with MADIES resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  In the back straight GLORIA’S CHOICE, SHORT SESSION and ELEGANT DUK collided on a number of occasions resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

Even start with the exception of BENTAXLE which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start LOGAN COUNTY and MONDELLA collided resulting in MONDELLA to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn MONDELLA, OPTIMYSTIC, SNOW RUNNER and RAGNAR LOTHBROK collided resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  BENTAXLE which was trailling was hampered as a result of this incident.

Even start with the exception of DISCO DOLLY and BONKNOCKA LASS which were both marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight GEORGIA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound GEORGIA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Even start with the exception of DOLLAR AND CENT which was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn BE FEARLESS, ROAD CAM and SHAYLOR CLEDUS were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn BE FEARLESS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight SHAYLOR CLEDUS and SAID SURFER were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BE FEARLESS which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound BE FEARLESS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn COOL VANE and SOCIAL were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BLANCHETT which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the back straight SPRING ELLIE and SECOND GEAR collided resulting in SPRING ELLIE to be checked and lose ground.  SOCIAL which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M

DO THAT PHOEBEE and ANOTHER RED were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn IT’S ABOUT TIME, PARIS QUEEN, SHE’S FOXY, NOTORIOUS HERO and ADAM ROSE HI were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PARIS QUEEN shifted out which hampered the running of NOTORIOUS HERO.  IT’S ABOUT TIME raced wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound ANOTHER RED underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Even start.  Shortly after the start SON OF BETTY and ASICLAO collided.  Shortly after ASICLAO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SWIFT ENFORCER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound GIDDY UP PATSY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

When questioned over the performance of SWIFT ENFORCER trainer Mr. N Vohland reported the greyhound has trailled extremely well leading up to the race as it was having its 1st start since 2 May 2017 and he was very confident going into the race that the greyhound would perform well however, he said he was extremely disappointed with the greyhound’s effort during the race and was at a miss to explain.  He further stated that he had supported the greyhound in today’s event.  Stewards noted his explanation however, instructed Mr. Vohland to inform them of anything that would come amiss with the greyhound in the upcoming days.
