Stewards Trial 1 - 520m

The greyhound MISS BECKY SAM performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.23 and is now cleared all tracks except Ipswich until after 24 November 2017.

 

The greyhound DON’T KNOCKA TOM performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.74 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

JUST LIKE YAZZA was best to begin.  In the 1st turn REEF AND BEEF and BLUE GIRL BLUE bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TIP TOP TEMPO clipped heels and lost ground.  In the back straight BLUE GIRL BLUE and FROSTY BLACK JAY came together causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the top turn BONITA DE KAHN was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the home straight ALPHA PHOEBE and ILLAWONG COWGIRL collided causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound REEF AND BEEF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

Stewards cautioned Mr. Brand about following the starter’s instructions.

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M

HOT was best to begin with RED JUMPER marginally slow.  Shortly after the start DOUBLE OAK was tightened for racing room and hampered.  In the 1st turn SONNY GEORGE, GITCHA HUMMIN’ and ENZO JAZZ collided causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  Leaving the 1st turn PEARLY WHITES and OUTLAW ANNIE collided causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight HOT and GITCHA HUMMIN’ collided causing HOT to lose ground and GITCHA HUMMIN’ to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the home straight GITCHA HUMMIN’ and DOUBLE OAK collided causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound HOT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GREYHOUND-DATA.COM NOVICE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ZAZU’S HEADACHE and MR. RALPH bumped causing MR. RALPH to be hampered.  Rounding the 1st turn BARNEY’S BOUNTY and IRISH SPICE bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  In the back straight ZAZU’S HEADACHE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the home straight MADRE and ZAZU’S HEADACHE bumped causing MADRE to lose ground.

 

The greyhound MADRE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards questioned license trainer Malcolm Cuneo about the performance of the greyhound, which he stated that he did not expect the greyhound to win and did not support it.

TOPAZ TAN was best to begin with BROTHER TREVOR, ZHICHAO LEE and SPRING COMMAND marginally slow.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight ZHICHAO LEE was tightened for racing room and hampered.  In the back straight SPRING COMMAND was wide.  In the front straight SPRING COMMAND and ZHICHAO LEE were wide.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

Even start with KNOCKA NOVA and SPRING LOYAL marginally slow.  In the 1st turn KNOCKA NOVA and SPRING LOYAL collided causing KNOCKA NOVA to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING BEK got onto the hindquarters of FOLLOW THE DUK causing SPRING BEK to lose ground.

 

The greyhound KNOCKA NOVA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards questioned Mr Mick Pearce  about the performance of the greyhound, which he stated that it missed the start and performance best in front.

The greyhound FOLLOW THE DUK underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start FROSTY BEJAY and SPRING SHELLEY bumped.  In the 1st turn PYRE and SPRING ROY bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Leaving the top turn SHORT SESSION hit the running rail and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the home straight SPRING ROY got onto the hindquarters of SHORT SESSION causing SHORT SESSION to lose ground.  In the back straight FROSTY BEJAY was wide.

 

The greyhound SHORT SESSION underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

VELOCITY ZARIN was best to begin.  Shortly after the start PRATER’S SAINT and PIPE OF PEACE were both tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the 1st turn PRATER’S SAINT and STRUDEL collided causing VEGAS BOY to be checked resulting in VEGAS BOY and PRATER’S SAINT to both lose ground.  In the back straight PRATER’S SAINT was wide.

GJ WALSH & CO 3/4th GRADE 431M

Even start with SUPER SOOK marginally slow.  In the 1st turn SUPER SOOK, TITLE and KAWATI SON collided causing all greyhounds to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight ASTIN’S WARRIOR clipped heels and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn KAWATI SON was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the back straight SPRING ELLIE was wide.  In the front straight KAWATI SON was wide.

 

The greyhound KAWATI SON underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

ELEGANT DUK was best to begin with LION’S BLUE slow.  In the 1st turn MISS AMELIA and HEARTLAND FLYER bumped causing HEARTLAND FLYER to be hampered.  In the back straight BELVEDERE BABE was wide.  In the top turn HEARTLAND FLYER was tightened for racing room and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the home straight MISS AMELIA and ELEGANT DUK collided causing MISS AMELA to lose ground.  Entering the home straight MISS AMELIA and IT’S ABOUT TIME bumped causing MISS AMELIA to lose ground.

SHEZA RULER was best to begin.  Shortly after the start DISCO DOLLY was tightened for racing room and hampered.  In the 1st turn DISCO DOLLY and CHEEKY CHANCE bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Leaving the 1st turn BENTAXLE and GEORGIA collided causing GEORGIA to give no further competitive part in the race.  In the top turn SHAYLOR LES was tightened for racing room and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the home straight SHEZA RULER and CHEEKY CHANCE bumped.  Approaching the finishing line CHEEKY CHANCE clipped heels and was hampered.

 

The greyhound GEORGIA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 21 days.
