Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound ONE
IN SIX failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m. Due to an issue
with the scales no weights were taken at this meeting. |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 431M VELOCITY
CHARM was best to begin while GRETA’S GIFT was slow out. GOLDEN STORM, POWER SERVICE and FROSTY VANE
collided at the start. Entering the first
turn GOLDEN STORM and POWER SERVICE bumped.
On the first turn and until the back straight POWER SERVICE was
tightened for room and hampered losing ground. Leaving the back straight GOLDEN STORM
collided with POWER SERVICE and took POWER SERVICE wider on the track causing
both greyhounds to become unbalanced. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT
2 431M BIRR, JACKSON STORM, MAYWYN’S NOMAD and FANCY A BOHERNA
were all tightened at the start.
Entering the first turn BIRR and JACKSON STORM collided causing both
greyhounds to become unbalanced.
Shortly after on the first turn ATTILA bumped SHOW ME JAKEY forcing
that greyhound wider which in turn severely checked FANCY A BOHERNA. |

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M LOVE THE LOOK
was best to begin and EXPECT LESS was slow out. Shortly after the start PITTSBURGH PHIL,
SNOWBALL CREED and NO MORE CENTS collided.
On the first turn PITTSBURGH PHIL, SNOWBALL CREED, NO MORE CENTS,
EMMY, HAZE PURPLE and CLASSY CASSIE came together resulting in EMMY losing
ground. Entering the back straight
SNOWBALL CREED checked across heels and collided with CLASSY CASSIE resulting
in that greyhound being checked. Leaving
the back straight CLASSY CASSIE bumped SNOWBALL CREED causing both greyhounds
to become unbalanced. |

NOVICE 431M JUMP TO IT was slow to begin. On the first turn DESERT CHILD, NO VISA and
VELOCITY RADINKA collided resulting in NO VISA being checked. In the back straight SHE’S FOXY was
tightened and checked. Leaving the
back straight SHE’S FOXY checked off the heels of THIS IS LEGIT. |

TREMBATH
TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M Even start.
BARNEY’S BOUNTY, HOME LUCK, DODGE ME and BRASS ROAD bumped after the
start resulting in HOME LUCK and DODGE ME being checked. Shortly after on the first turn ELOISE
bumped BARNEY’S BOUNTY and BRASS ROAD, VIKING RED and MADIES came together
resulting in BRASS ROAD losing ground entering the back straight. On the final turn HOME LUCK raced wide and
collided with VIKING RED. Stewards had
concerns with the actions of HOME LUCK at this point however, due to
insufficient evidence afforded the greyhound the benefit of the doubt. |

BUTCHER CO 5th GRADE 431M STAR RISE was best to begin. BONKNOCKA LASS and I’VE GOT CENTS bumped at
the start as did VELOCITY ZARIN and HONEY HORNET. On the first turn BONKNOCKA LASS, ASTIN’S
WARRIOR and VELOCITY ZARIN collided resulting in ASTIN’S WARRIOR becoming
unbalanced and shifting out onto BENTAXLE and HONEY HORNET causing both
greyhounds to be checked. In the back
straight FARMOR IN TIME checked off heels and shortly after I’VE GOT CENTS
improved onto the heels of FARMOR IN TIME resulting in FARMOR IN TIME again
being checked. FARMOR IN TIME underwent a post race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and
was stood down for a period of 7 days. |

5th GRADE 520M ROI LEAR KAHN was checked at the start. Leaving the front straight on the first
occasion ROI LEAR KAHN improved onto the heels of PHANTOM HENRY, became unbalanced
and shifted wider severely hampering HERACLES and causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. In the back straight
TOPAZ TAN and FLYAWAY BARB collided resulting in FLYAWAY BARB being checked. On the final turn FLYAWAY BARB improved
onto the heels of TOPAZ TAN and was checked. ROI LEAR KAHN underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

LODGE 3/4th GRADE 431M CORY’S DIAMOND, VIKING BUDDY and ELING
FEELING were slow to begin with VIKING BUDDY and ELING FEELING bumping
shortly after. Entering the first turn
RUNYA DOWN, CORY’S DIAMOND and SAIL SURFER came together resulting in CORY’S
DIAMOND being checked, becoming unbalanced and in turn checking VIKING BUDDY. |

Approaching the first turn MONDELLA, DAZE LIKE THESE, SCAR’S BROTHER,
NINPIN, PARIS QUEEN and GLORIA’S CHOICE came together resulting in all
greyhounds being checked to varying degrees and causing DAZE LIKE THESE to
collide with CUPPA TEA KIWI checking that greyhound. |

5th GRADE 431M GIFTED ANGEL underwent a pre race veterinary examination
and was passed fit to race. QUEEN REEN was best to begin and GOOD DAZE AHEAD was
extremely slow to begin. Entering the first
turn SPORTFAN, LITE ME UP and GIFTED ANGEL came together resulting in LITE ME
UP being checked and GIFTED ANGEL becoming unbalanced. Shortly after GIFTED ANGEL was
checked. In the back straight GOOD
DAZE AHEAD checked across the heels of GIFTED ANGEL. Turning into the home straight LITE ME UP collided
with SPORTFAN on a number of occasions. The greyhound GIFTED ANGEL underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
