Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound
HOPEFUL MISS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of
431m in a time of 25.43 and is now cleared all tracks. |

MAIDEN 431M Even
start with the exception of AYE JOHNS which was marginally slow to
begin. Through the 1st turn
SPRING IVAN contacted the hindquarters of KRANKY which resulted in both
greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
At the same time AYE JOHNS and MR. LEO collided resulted in both
greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
Entering the back straight FROSTY BLACK JAY was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn out of the back straight SPRING IVAN contacted the
hindquarters of KRANKY resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose
ground. The
greyhound KRANKY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M Even start.
Through the 1st turn SPRING GARY and MAN OF LEISURE were
both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight
SPRING JENNY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground and took
no further competitive part in the race.
Entering the back straight BLAZIN’ BLUE shifted out and collided with
THANKING PETER on a number of occasions resulting in both greyhounds to be
severely checked and lose considerable ground. Leaving the back straight MAN OF LEISURE
was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. SPRING GARY which was trailling was checked
as a consequence and lost ground. The greyhound BLAZIN’ BLUE underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned over the performance of
BLAZIN’ BLUE in particular its actions when entering the back straight where
the greyhound shifted out and collided with THANKING PETER trainer Mr. K
Ollerton stated that the greyhound had not raced in that manner at its
previous race starts and was at a loss to explain its actions. After reviewing replays of BLAZIN’ BLUE’s
previous race starts and taking into consideration the greyhound’s
inexperience a final warning was placed on its manners in respect to shifting
out. The greyhound SPRING JENNY underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Byers that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks. |

with the exception of MIDNIGHT TO ONE and THIS IS LEGIT which were marginally
slow to begin with FARMOR IN TUNE slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight
SPRING REINA shifted out which hampered the running of EBONNIE and MAYWYN
OFTEN. Entering the back straight THIS
IS LEGIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight SPRING REINA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front
straight FARMOR IN TUNE checked off heels and lost ground. |

slow to begin. Through the 1st
turn NAOMI ROSE HI and GIFTED ANGEL were both tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. In the back
straight GOT THERE shifted out which hampered the running of NAOMI ROSE HI. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight TINY TURBO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. GIFTED ANGEL which was trailing
was checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the front straight GIFTED ANGEL and NOIRE
CHERIE collided on a number of occasions. The greyhound ALISSA’S ANGEL underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M Even start with the exception of SPRING BEK which was
extremely slow to begin. SPRING BEK
will be given 1 more chance to begin in the required manner. Through the 1st turn APOLLO
DRYVA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. FONIC LASS which was racing to its outside
was checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Rounding the turn into the front straight MUSTANG NOVA checked across
heels and lost ground. Entering the
front straight APOLLO DRYVA shifted out which hampered the running of FONIC
LASS. |

5th GRADE FINAL 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start ZOU BISOU BISOU collided with DOLLY’S WALLY
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. RATHNAIT which was racing to the inside of
ZOU BISOU BISOU was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Through the 1st turn DOLLY’S
WALLY and MADRE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose
ground. MAYWYN PROMISES and FARMOR
PERHAPS raced wide entering the back straight. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight DOLLY’S WALLY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. |

4th GRADE 431M Even start.
Through the 1st turn ONYA BENZ was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground.
Entering the back straight AGRO’S THUNDER was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn out of the back straight YOU JANE was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. When questioned over the performance of TORNEY which won
the event which started a $28 Ubet fixed price trainer Mr. S Armstrong
advised that the greyhound had been given a short let up from its previous
start on 10 December 2017 where it had been racing consistently leading up to
that race and altered its program slightly which in his opinion had
contributed to the improved performance.
He stated that he did not support the greyhound in today’s event. |

ROAD TO FLAME proved difficult to box.
The greyhound will be given one given 1 more chance to be boxed in the
desired manner. HOOP DREAMS, ROAD TO FLAME an LITTLE
ACH CEE were best to begin. SHOW BOUND
was slow to begin. Through the 1st
turn BURNING OAK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the back straight KLOEIS PRIDE improved
on heels and lost ground. Rounding the
turn out of the back straight SHOW BOUND improved onto the heels of HOOP
DREAMS resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. LIGHTNING WHITE had difficulty obtaining
clear running in the latter stages of the race. |

GJ WALSH & CO 5th
GRADE HEAT 2 431M Even start with the exception of BUTTON PUSHER and MR.
RALPH which were both marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn COSMIC
REVENGE, MILLION DOLLAR, CAWBOURNE BIGRED and NEXT all raced tight resulting
in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. MR. RALPH which was trailing was checked as
a consequence and lost ground.
Entering the back straight BUTTON PUSHER was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground. In the
back straight BUTTON PUSHER commenced to give ground to finish a considerable
distance from the remainder of the field.
Rounding the turn into the front straight SURE SHOT checked off heels and
raced wide. The greyhound BUTTON PUSHER underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start SUDOKU BOMB shifted out which hampered the
running of RUMBLING JAKE resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose
ground. Entering the back straight
TURN AND BURN was tightened for racing room, checked and fell as a
consequence taking no further competitive part in the race. Leaving the back straight SUDOKU BOMB was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. RUMBLING JAKE which was trailing was
checked as a consequence and lost ground. The greyhound TURN AND BURN underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned over the performance of SHAVASANA which
started $4.60 fixed price on Ubet trainer Mr. K Macintosh reported the
greyhound races best when drawn box 1 as it a quick beginner, and races best
when leading. He stated in its previous races leading up today’s event where the greyhound had drawn outside of
that box it had only performed moderately as it received interference
throughout those races. He further
stated that after drawing box 1 he was confident that the greyhound would
perform well and he supported the greyhound.
He reported that the greyhound’s preparation was not interrupted or
changed in any manner leading up to today’s race. |
