SPECTRAILLE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m
in a time of 25.26. |

was best to begin. Rounding the turn
out of the front straight GALWAY PANTHER was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |

SKY RACING NOVICE 520M ZAZU’S HEADACHE was best to begin. Shortly after the start THUNDER OF FIRE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
SNOWBALL CREED and MAGIC BARB collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. Entering the
back straight MAGIC BARB checked off heels and lost ground. In the front straight PHANTOM HOUDINI
turned its head and marred the running of REACTOR resulting in REACTOR to be
checked and lose ground. In the latter
stages of the race BARBARELLA eased and failed to pursue the lure with due
commitment. The greyhound BARBARELLA underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. G Gilbert that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. Stewards advised trainer Ms. A O’Reilly that the
greyhound PHANTOM HOUDINI would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. |

5th GRADE 520M Even start
with the exception of VEGAS BOY and SNOWBALL OTTO which were both slow to
begin. In the front straight on the 1st
occasion JACOBY RAIDER shifted out which checked the running of SNOWBALL OTTO
resulting in that greyhound to lose ground.
Rounding the turn out of the front straight SNOWBALL OTTO shifted out
resulting in HAVANA BLACK to be checked which shifted out and collided with
FLYAWAY BARB which then shifted out and collide with IMA RUNAWAY resulting in
all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground with IMA RUNAWAY to be severely
checked and lose considerable ground. The greyhound
IMA RUNAWAY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS 4/5th GRADE 520M CHAMPAGNE SALLY and MAYWYN OPALS were best to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight
KNOCKA NOVA checked off heels and lost ground. KNOCKA NOVA commenced to give ground
rounding the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the
remainder of the field. The greyhound KNOCKA NOVA underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GRADE 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start CAPRA ROSS was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Approaching
the 1st turn PRATER’S RECRUIT was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Through the 1st
turn SHAKEY RANDLE, SECOND GEAR, PRATER’S RECRUIT and CAPRA ROSS were all
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Entering the back straight DORREGO was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the back straight DORREGO was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
CAPRA ROSS which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost
ground. Entering the front straight
PRATER’S RECRUIT checked across heels and lost ground. |

COFFEE AT RONI’S 5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of OUTBACK SUNSHINE which
was marginally slow to begin. Through
the 1st turn INDIAN GIVER and ROSDUE SPRITE were both tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
OUTBACK SUNSHINE which was racing to the outside of ROSDUE SPRITE was
checked as a consequence. Leaving the
back straight INDIAN GIVER and FARAHMAC collided resulting in both greyhounds
to be checked and lose ground. |

Leaving the turn out of the front straight SCORCHING LUCY was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. |

RACING 3/4th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of
SPRING ELLIE wand STANKY LEG which were both marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn NIGHT TIME
LOVER, READY CETTE and SPORTFAN raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. Entering the
back straight SPRING MYSTERY and READY CETTE collided resulting in both
greyhounds to lose ground. In the back
straight READY CETTE commenced to give ground to finish a considerable
distance from the remainder of the field.
Rounding the turn out of the back straight NIGHT TIME LOVER was
tightened for racing room and lost ground.
Entering the front straight STANKY LEG and SPRING ELLIE collided. The greyhound READY CETTE underwent a
post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days. Stewards questioned Mr. P Cauchi
regarding the actions of STANKY LEG rounding the turn into the front straight
where it appeared it may have turned its head. After considering all available evidence
stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had offended
under any rule and therefore gave it the benefit of the doubt. |

5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of SPRING LOYAL which was
marginally slow to begin. Shortly
after the start LION’S BLUE and ARFA SHOW OFF were tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Through the 1st
turn LION’S BLUE and ARFA SHOW OFF collided and lost ground. Leaving the back straight SPRING LOYAL
improved onto the heels of NAUGHTY JESS and lost ground. LEST WE which was racing to its outside was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Rounding the turn into the front straight BINALONG ROAD improved onto
the heels of NAUGHTY JESS resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose
ground. Entering the front straight
LEST WE commenced to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the
remainder of the field. The greyhound LEST WE underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and was found to have suffered cramping and was stood down for a
period of 10 days. Stewards advised
trainer Mr. N Eastell that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71
Unsatisfactory Performance and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial
431m all tracks prior to nominating. |

HAPPY NEW YEAR 5th
GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of GLORIA’S CHOICE which
was slow to begin. Shortly after the
start GRAND ANGEL and WHITE EAGLE collided resulting in GRAND ANGEL to lose
ground. Rounding the turn into the
back straight GLORIA’S CHOICE checked off heels and lost ground. Entering the back straight WHAT A MESS was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front
straight WHITE EAGLE improved onto the hindquarters of SPRING SHELLEY
resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. GLORIA’S CHOICE and NAMROD raced wide
rounding the home turn. |
