Stewards’ Trial 1

The greyhound THIS TIME MARY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 431m and was cleared to race all tracks.

 

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

WILBY was best to begin.  MINNIE BLUE was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn, HAD BETTER DAZE, HAZE PURPLE and ZABDON CHARLIE checked heavily resulting in ZABDON CHARLIE to fall and take no further competitive part in the race thereafter and HAD BETTER DAZE to come into contact with the running rail and lose considerable ground as a result. MINNIE BLUE which was trailing, was hampered as a result and lost significant ground.  FROSTY BLACK JAY and MINNIE BLUE raced tight and bumped on a number of occasions over the concluding stages of the race. 

 

The greyhound ZABDON CHARLIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HAD BETTER DAZE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2

SIMMSY’S NINERON was best to begin.  REAL JAZZ, GOLDEN STORM and BROKEN YOKE raced tight approaching the 1st turn.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, GOLDEN STORM and BROKEN YOKE checked and lost ground.  KID SUNRISE and SLICE OF CAKE which were trailing, were impeded and checked off heels causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn FANCY A BOHEMA shifted out causing MANACLES to be impeded.  GOLDEN STORM which was trailing, was also impeded, then stumbled losing ground as a result. 

 

The greyhound KID SUNRISE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

THIS IS LEGIT was slow.  UMBREON was tightened for racing room immediately after the start.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, UMBREON checked off heels and lost ground.  VIKING WHITE raced wide in the back straight and continued to race wide for the remainder of the race thereafter.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MIXED 3/4 431M

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn, VALKYRIE NIGHT was checked and lost ground. VALKYRIE NIGHT raced wide in the back straight.  IRISH SPICE and NO LAYING BACK bumped leaving the turn into the front straight.

ROAD TO FLAME was best to begin.  At the 1st turn SECOND GEAR was tightened for racing room and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  SOCIAL, LITTLE ACH CEE and FLAPPING GUMS were all inconvenienced by this and lost ground to varying degrees. Approaching the turn into front straight, FLAPPING GUMS was tightened for racing room.

 

The greyhound SECOND GEAR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

KAYPAT LODGE 5TH GRADE (1) 431M

SPRING REINA and CAKES ALL ROUND were best to begin.  SONNY GEORGE was marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, MONDELLA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  At the same time, SONNY GEORGE checked off heels and lost ground.  In the back straight, MONDELLA checked off heels and shifted wide as a result.  Approaching the top turn, MISS FERNANDO was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

The greyhound MISS FERNANDO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

LOCKETY BRIN was best to begin.  DREAM YOUR DREAM stumbled and became unbalanced shortly after the start.  Approaching the 1st turn, FABRIQUE checked off heels and raced wide, losing ground as it did.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, FABRIQUE and SPRING LOYAL checked.  Approaching the top turn, FLYAWAY BARB checked off heels and lost ground.  PORT LISA, FABRIQUE, THAT HOUDINI and SPRING LOYAL raced tight and bumped on occasion over the concluding stages of the race.

8.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5TH GRADE FINAL 520M

SPECIAL COVER, GOTCHA MONEY and GIFTED ANGEL were best to begin, SNOWBALL OTTO and THROTTLE ON were both slow. Shortly after the start LOVED UP was tightened for racing room, becoming unbalanced and lost ground as a result. Approaching the top turn ZAZU’S HEADACHE shifted out and inconvenienced GOTCHA MONEY, which was racing to its outside. At the top turn GOTCHA MONEY was impeded behind ZAZU’S HEADACHE. Leaving the turn into the front straight GOTCHA MONEY checked off heels and lost ground as a result.

 

The greyhound ZAZU’S HEADACHE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the abdominal muscle and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

Even start.  WAYCOL BILL was tightened for racing room immediately after the start, and became unbalanced as a result.  Shortly after, RATHNAIT checked off heels and lost ground.  WAYCOL BILL which was trailing, improved onto the rear of RATHNAIT, resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, HESA REBEL shifted wide causing EXPONENTIAL ,which was racing to its outside to go wide with it.  Leaving the top turn, BURNING OAK was impeded and shifted wide.

SKY RACING 5PW 431M

NOVELLA and GOOD DAZE AHEAD were marginally slow to begin.  LIL MISS PINKY, HEARTLAND FLYER and BENTAXLE bumped after the start.  LIL MISS PINKY, HEARTLAND and BARNEY’S BOUNTY checked at the 1st turn, with HEARTLAND FLYER losing ground as a result.
