NIC performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a
time of 26.46, and was cleared to race all tracks. The greyhound HERE
FOR YOU performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in
a time of 26.43, and was cleared to race all tracks. The greyhound
BERGAMO performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in
a time of 25.27 and was cleared to race all tracks except Albion Park. |

start. Shortly after the start, MAGIC
MALT, SLICE OF CAKE and FREE PRESS raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds
to be checked and to lose ground.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, HAD BETTER DAZE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after, SLICE OF CAKE was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
HAD BETTER DAZE raced wide in the back straight. Leaving the back straight, WESTGATE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. |

SKY RACING NOVICE
431M Even start.
Shortly after the start, ZAHARA DYE and FULL OF TRICKS collide,
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Leaving the 1st turn, MAYWYN
OFTEN and WHO SAID SO collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and
lose ground. Entering the back
straight, SNOWBALL CREED shifted out, which checked the running of MAYWYN
OFTEN resulting in that greyhound to lose ground. Shortly after, SLICK SHANNON shifted out
which checked the running of MIDNIGHT TO ONE, resulting in that greyhound to
lose ground. Approaching the turn out
of the back straight, SLICK SHANNON was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Rounding the turn out
of the back straight, FULL OF TRICKS improved onto the heels of ZAHARA DYE checked
and lost ground. Approaching the turn
into the front straight, SLICK SHANNON improved onto the heels of FULL OF
TRICKS and lost ground. |

MIXED 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 431M GIFTED ANGEL and CAKES ALL
ROUND were best to begin. MIGHTY
NIMROD was slow to begin. Through the
1st turn, MIGHTY NIMROD, SURE SHOT and LOBCHA were all tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. CAKES ALL ROUND commenced
to give ground out of the turn of the back straight, to finish a considerable
distance from the remainder of the field.
MIGHTY NIMROD commenced to give ground round the turn out of the back
straight. The greyhound
CAKES ALL ROUND underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period
of 28 days. The greyhound
MIGHTY NIMROD underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have suffered an injury to the near side wrist and was stood down for a
period of 10 days. |

HEAT 2 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start, REBEL KENNELLY and SPRING ERNIE collide,
causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Through the 1st turn, BLACK
KOALA and INDOMINOUS DANE collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked
and to lose ground. SPRING ERNIE,
which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground. SWIFT NIMROD raced wide in the back
straight. MAYWYN PROMISES and SWIFT
NIMROD raced wide round the turn into the front straight. |

start, with the exception of TOKEN TOFF and TINY TIARA which were both slow
to begin. Through the first turn,
AUGUST FLAME and VAL ROSE HI collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. Entering the
back straight, AUGUST FLAME improved on the heels of WHITE EAGLE and lost
ground. Rounding the turn into the
back straight, TINY TIARA and VAL ROSE HI collide, resulting in both
greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.
Leaving the back straight, TOKEN TOFF was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. TINY TIARA, which was trailing
was checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Stewards
questioned trainer, Mr J Schmidt, AUGUST FLAME in regards to the greyhounds
actions in the front straight, where it appeared AUGUST FLAME may have
eased. After considering all available
evidence, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had
offended any rule and gave it the benefit of the doubt. |

JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS
5TH GRADE FINAL 431M Even start, with the exception of MEMPHIS which was
marginally slow to begin, and I’VE GOT CENTS which was slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, BIG
TURLS and HALL PASS collided, resulting in HALL PASS to be checked and to
lose ground. Approaching the turn into
the back straight, HALL PASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Stewards questioned trainer, Mr M Page, over the
performance of I’VE GOT CENTS, who stated that he was of the view the
greyhound had begun slowly, causing it to lose any competitive chance it had
in the race, as it races best when it is leading. After considering all available evidence, a
final warning was placed on I’VE GOT CENTS in respect to its starting
manners. The greyhound I’VE GOT CENTS underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MIXED 4/5 520M SONIC THUNDER underwent a veterinary
examination prior to the commencement of the race, and was passed fit to run. Even start, with the exception of
LOZZA’S TROUBLE which was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, HONEY HORNET was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Leaving the
front straight, ARE YOU THERE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. LOZZA’S TROUBLE raced wide
rounding the turn out to the front straight.
ARE YOU THERE raced wide entering the back straight. The greyhound SONIC THUNDER underwent
a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound LOZZA’S TROUBLE
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found. Stewards questioned trainer, Mr D
Turley, over the performance of LOZZA’S TROUBLE, who stated that he was
disappointed in the way the greyhound had begun, and in his view it
contributed to its overall performance.
He stated that the greyhound normally races wide, which it did out of
the 1st turn, which again contributed to its finishing position.
After considering all the evidence, Stewards’ placed a warning against
LOZZA’S TROUBLE in respect to its starting manners. |

MIXED 4/5 GRADE HEAT 4 431M Even start.
Through the 1st turn, AUSSIE DIAMOND was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Entering the back straight, AUSSIE DIAMOND improved on the hind
quarters of HOPEFUL MISS, which resulted in that greyhound to be checked and
lose ground. The greyhound HOPEFUL MISS underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards questioned trainer, Mr G Joyce, over the
performance of HOPEFUL MISS, who stated that the greyhound was having its
first race start since the 14th of October, 2017, however, had
trialled well leading up to the race. He stated that HOPEFUL MISS needs to
rail throughout the race to race best and having drawn box 8, he was of the
view that this contributed to the greyhounds overall performance. He further stated that he would be
trialling HOPEFUL MISS prior to it racing again. |

the 1st turn, ROSDUE SPRITE and CAPTAIN LOUIE collide. Leaving the back straight, SNOW GIRL and
ENZO JAZZ were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound PLENTY OF PUNCH underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
