Stewards’ Trial

The greyhound, UNDER ADVICE, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 520m in the time of 30.78, and is cleared to race all tracks 520m.

RACE REPORTS

 

DUE TO THE STORM ACTIVITY, AND WITH THE WELFARE OF THE GREYHOUNDS AND PARTICIPANTS TO CONSIDER, AND WITH THE STEWARDS’ HAVING PUT BACK THE RACES 3 TIMES, STEWARDS’ ABANDONED THE REST OF THE MEETING.

 

1.

ROSDUE LIVE WIRE was marginally slow to begin. The field with the exception of PHANTOM ROAD raced tight into the 1st turn.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, ROSDUE BARISTA checked off heels. Approaching the turn into the front straight ROSEDUE LIVE WIRE was tightened for racing room and shifted wide as a result.  ROSDUE LIVE WIRE and BLUE GIRL BLUE checked leaving the turn into the front straight.  Approaching the finish line, WERINA MAGIC turned its head and made muzzle contact with PHANTOM ROAD on two occasions.  ROSDUE LIVE WIRE and BLUE GIRL BLUE raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.

 

Stewards advised licenced trainer N. EVANS, the greyhound WERINA MAGIC, will be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st Offence and would be stood down for a period of 28 Days and must perform a satisfactory stewards trial over the distance of 431m.

 

The greyhound FREE PRESS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and found to have suffered an injury to the near pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 -  431M

TURBO ROY was best to begin.  THUG and GRAY GREY GOOSE were both marginally slow.  CALJAX checked off heels and lost ground approaching the turn into the back straight.  Leaving the turn to the back straight TURBO ROY checked off heels and lost ground.  HAD BETTER DAZE, which was trailing, collided into TURBO ROY and lost considerable ground as a result. HAD BETTER DAZE raced wide through the turn into the front straight. GRAY GREY GOOSE and SYMI SUMMER raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.

WILBY was best to begin.  FANCY A BOHERNA was marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, REAL JAZZ and BROKEN YOKE checked, causing BROKEN YOKE to lose signficant ground.  Shortly after, SMART WERINA improved onto the rear of REAL JAZZ and was severely checked, losing considerable ground as a result and any competitive chance in the race thereafter.

 

The greyhound SMART WERINA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE – 431M

VIKING WHITE was best to begin, VIENNA CALLING and SNOWBALL CREED were both marginally slow. In the 1st turn VIENNA CALLING checked off heels and lost ground as a result. Approaching the top turn SNOW GIRL checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight, SNOWBALL CREED was tightened for racing room causing it to check off heels and shift wide, losing significant ground as a result.
