Stewards’ Trial

The greyhound, DAHOMEY WINDFIRE, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 520m, in a time of 31.26, and is cleared to race all tracks.

Even start.  Shortly after the start, COOLAZAR and IMPATIENT KID collide.  Through the 1st turn, PAYYAYA GIRL, TADA and ZABDON CHARLIE collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Shortly after, ZABDON CHARLIE and IMPATIENT KID collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight, MALUTKI and ASPEN VALLEY collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

The greyhound ZABDON CHARLIE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, FANCY A BOHERNA, SECRET KEPT and VELOCITY ANIFRID raced tight.  Through the 1st turn, TADA AGAIN, FANCY A BOHERNA and VELOCITY ANIFRID raced tight, resulting in TADA AGAIN and FANCY A BOHERNA to be checked and to lose ground.  Shortly after, FANCY A BOHERNA collided heavily with SECRET KEPT and DRIVES ME CRAZY which were trailing, resulting in all greyhounds to be severely checked, and fall as a consequence, and taking no further competitive part in the race.  HERE TO THERE, which was racing to the outside of these greyhounds, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the front straight during the run to the finish, VELOCITY ANIFRID turned its head outwards and muzzle contact and marred the running HAZE PURPLE. 

 

The greyhound DRIVES ME CRAZY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FANCY A BOHERNA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

The greyhound SECRET KEPT underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, MR. LEO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, TURBO ROY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, ROSDUE BARISTA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, BONITA DE KAHN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound MR. LEO underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

4.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M

The start of Race 4 was delayed, when the handler of HERE FOR YOU positioned the greyhound in the incorrect box.  All greyhounds that had been boxed were removed from the boxes and examined by the club veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

 

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, BIG HUEY and HERE FOR YOU collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight, MONDELLA shifted out, which hampered the running of HERE FOR YOU and BIG HUEY.  Leaving the back straight, REACTOR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DESERT CHILD and MONDELLA, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound LORD SIRIUS underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound REACTOR underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HERE FOR YOU underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound VIKING WHITE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start, EUROA AZAZ shifted in, which tightened the racing room of all runners drawn to its inside, with PRATER’S SAINT, DUDE PERFECT, SONNY GEORGE and BAILEY BE GOOD to be checked and to lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, EUROA AZAZ was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BAILEY BE GOOD, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, PRATER’S SAINT, which hampered the running of DUDE PERFECT.  In the back straight, EUROA AZAZ commenced to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field. 

 

The greyhound BAILEY BE GOOD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound EUROA AZAZ underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the stomach muscles and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS MIXED 4/5 – 431M

Even start, with the exception of SWIFT NIMROD which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, ONE DOLLAR and THAT HOUDINI collide, resulting in THAT HOUDINI to be checked and to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, FARMOR IN TUNE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, ONE DOLLAR commence to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound ONE DOLLAR underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

HOME LUCK and SMALL JEWEL were best to begin.  Shortly after the start, FLYING SOVEREIGN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, GLENREAGH SPIDER and GIFTED ANGEL collided on a number of occasions, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  In the front straight, on the 1st occasion, HOME LUCK shifted out which hampered the running of KNOCKA NOVA.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, AUSSIE DIAMOND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  NINPIN, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound GLENREAGH SPIDER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

COFFEE AT RONI’S BEST 8 – 431M

STAR RISE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, ACE and ROAD TO FLAME collide, resulting in ROAD TO FLAME to be checked and to lose ground.  Through the 1st turn, FERNVALE RUBY and CORY’S DIAMOND were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, CORY’S DIAMOND shifted out, which checked the running of ROAD TO FLAME, resulting in that greyhound to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight, CALL ME AUSSIE improved onto the heels of CROWN EDDIE and lost ground.  ROAD TO FLAME was held up for clear running to entering the front straight.

Even start.  Shortly after the start, BLUMENTRIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, ROCKFORD and VIKING RED collide, resulting in VIKING RED to be checked and to lose ground.  BLUMENTRIT and GOOD GOLLY OLLY, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground.

SKY RACING 5PW – 431M

The start of this race was delayed when SPANISH HARBOUR proved difficult to box – the greyhound will be declared a hard-to-box dog in its racing future.

 

NEDGO PRINCESS and IMA RUNAWAY were best to begin.  VIENNA CALLING was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, VIENNA CALLING and BLACK KOALA collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Shortly after, ORPHAN ANNIE and FOXY BE GOOD collide, resulting in ORPHAN ANNIE to be checked and to lose ground.  Through the 1st turn, IMA RUNAWAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, shifted out and collided with SPANISH HARBOUR, resulting in that greyhound to be checked and to lose ground.   Entering the back straight, ORPHAN ANNIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, HOPEFUL MISS and SPANISH HARBOUR collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

The greyhound SPANISH HARBOUR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
