The greyhound, MY FIRST PATCH, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 288m, in a time

 of 17.14, and is cleared to race all tracks.

HONEY’S PRINCESS was best to begin.  PATCHE DE KAHN was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn AVA SURPRISE improved onto the heels of REAL JAZZ, causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and to lose ground.  Shortly after, PATCHE DE KAHN improved onto the heels of AVA SURPRISE, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  PATCHE DE KAHN raced wide at the 1st turn.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 288M

NEXT ONE was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, BLACKPEARL GIRL was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Shortly after, LADY CRIMSON was tightened for racing room and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, BLACKPEARL GIRL shifted out and severely impeded CRACKERJACK RUBY, causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose significant ground as a result.  BLACKPEARL GIRL continued to shift out and race tight with GO FOR CHUCK over the concluding stages of the race.

LET’S GO FABIO and MARITANA were both best to begin.  VIENNA CALLING and MIDNIGHT TO ONE were both slow.  Approaching the 1st turn LET’S GO FABIO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, LET’S GO FABIO checked off heels and lost ground.  VIENNA CALLING which was trailing, was impeded as a result and shifted out.  MIDNIGHT TO ONE raced wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

KAYPAT LODGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 288M

C’MON CAROL was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, SPANISH HARBOUR was tightened for racing room and improved onto the rear of BIG WINSTON, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result. FANTASIA LEE, which was trailing, was impeded and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SPANISH HARBOUR checked off heels and lost significant ground.  BIG WINSTON raced wide through the home turn. 

 

The greyhound SPANISH HARBOUR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

JET BLACK STAR was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn CHIEF ROSE HI was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  At the same time, WILDASH WAUCHOPE checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound CHIEF ROSE HI underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5TH GRADE – 431M

SURE SHOT was best to begin.  In the 1st turn and through the turn into the back straight, BOGAN BELLE, ZAHARA DYE and SURE SHOT raced tight and bumped on numerous occasions, causing all three greyhounds to lose momentum.  ARFA SHOW OFF raced wide through the turn into the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, ARFA SHOW OFF stumbled and lost ground.

RAPID EXPLOSION was best to begin.  DAZE LIKE THESE, BOGAN SECRET and BOGAN FLYER were all marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, DAZE LIKE THESE and BOGAN SECRET raced tight and checked on a number of occasions, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn, DAZE LIKE THESE checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, KYLE THE TANK was tightened for racing room.

SKY RACING BEST 8 – 288M

RAMBLIN’ ROSE was best to begin.  PRINCESS EMILY was very slow.  Approaching the 1st turn BLACK PAWS shifted in, causing the field to race tight, with OUR MISS DEENA and BUDDY TOKAAM checking off heels and losing considerable ground as a result.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, PRINCESS EMILY was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, PRINCESS EMILY and BUDDY TOKAAM raced tight and bumped.

 

The greyhound PRINCESS EMILY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

C’MON ANGELA and LIL MISS PINKY were both marginally slow to begin, OWN GOAL was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn ON TIGHT LINES was tightened for racing room, checked and lost significant ground. OWN GOAL which was trailing, was severely impeded as a consequence and lost significant ground.  Leaving the turn into the home straight, BREAD WINNER was tightened for racing room, stumbled and lost ground.  LIL’ MISS PINKY raced wide through the home turn and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

Even start.  Shortly after the start WILDASH CECIL was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Shortly after FANTASTIC RUFF checked off heels and lost ground. CLOVER FRAZER and BRAVE ULYSSES which were trailing, were inconvenienced and lost considerable ground as a result.  FANTASTIC RUFF and BRAVE ULYSSES raced wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race thereafter.   WILDASH CECIL shifted out and raced wide down the front straight.
