The greyhound, YOU ANGEL YOU, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, in a time of 25.67, and is cleared to race all tracks, 431m.

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE was best to begin, HOT MUMMA’S BOY and REGAL JADE were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, RUSSIAN ROULETTE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  At the 1st turn HOT MUMMA’S BOY improved onto the rear of NORM SAID THIS, causing NORM SAID THIS to fall and take no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  RUSSIAN ROULETTE raced wide at the top turn and for the remainder of the race thereafter.  REAL JAZZ raced wide through the turn into the home straight, and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

 

The greyhound NORM SAID THIS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a near side stifle injury and was stood down for a period of 14 days

SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL – 288M

NEXT ONE and ASH TIDE were both marginally slow to begin.  At the 1st turn, HONEY’S PRINCESS checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, I’M ORION improved onto the heels of MR. APOLLO, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  ASH TIDE which was trailing, was impeded and lost ground as a consequence.  MASTER LODA was also impeded as a result of the interference and shifted wide.  Approaching the turn into the front straight HONEY’S PRINCESS shifted out and collided into MASTER LODA, causing MASTER LODA to become unbalanced and to lose ground.  HONEY’S PRINCESS continued to race wide for the remainder of the race.

LET’S GO FABIO was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, BONDI GIRL stumbled and lost ground.  Approaching the 1st turn, MARITANA shifted out and checked into TURBO ROY, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  GALWAY EAGLE was also inconvenienced as a result of that contact and lost ground.  CATCH ME KEITH raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, COUNTRY CRACKER was momentarily impeded.

KAYPAT LODGE 5TH GRADE (1) – 288M

WILDASH NITRO was best to begin.  COUNTRY TRON was slow.  At the 1st turn, THIS TIME MADDIE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  GITCHA HUMMIN’ raced wide approaching the turn into the front straight.  LITE ME UP shifted out at the turn into the front straight, checking into COUNTRY TRON, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result. 

 

Stewards’ questioned trainer, Ms S Marschke, in relation to the performance of the greyhound THIS TIME MADDIE, who indicated the greyhound would be given a break before being nominated again.

PINK SUNSET was clearly best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, WILDASH SEMI was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  JET BLACK STAR which was trailing, was severely impeded and lost significant ground as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, C’MON CAROL shifted wide and severely impeded WILDASH CECIL as it did, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Richard Nelson, in relation to the performance of the greyhound, JET BLACK STAR, who stated the race wasn’t run to suit his greyhound, which in his opinion needs to lead and prefers to race on the rail.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON MIXED 4/5 – 288M

VELOCITY ZARIN was best to begin, ASTIN’S WARRIOR was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn BLOZA and VELOCITY ZARIN raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  EBONY SANDS which was trailing, was impeded as a result and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, CLOVER FRAZER collided into the rear of VELOCITY ZARIN, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  VALKYRIE NIGHT, which was trailing, collided into CLOVER FRAZER, causing both those greyhounds to lose ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, EBONY SANDS stumbled as it shifted inside and became unbalanced as a consequence.

MISS FERNANDO and RAMBLIN’ ROSE were both best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, CALL ME AUSSIE checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, NEVER A DOUBT raced wide.  Through the turn into the back straight, CALL ME AUSSIE checked off heels and lost ground.

SKY RACING MIXED 1/2 - 288M

Even start.  Leaving the 1st turn OUR MISS DEENA checked off the heels of COSMO BILL and commenced to yield ground thereafter.  COSMO BILL was momentarily unbalanced as a result of the contact and lost ground.  INNER WISDOM raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  ROAD TO FLAME and BLACK PAWS raced tight and bumped just prior to the finish.

 

The greyhound OUR MISS DEENA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a near hind laceration and was stood down for a period of 14 days

WILDASH WAUCHOPE was best to begin.  CITY MASTER was slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, CITY MASTER improved onto the rear of SHADOWLAND causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground and race wide as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, HORUS GUN shifted in and raced tight with KYLE THE TANK and LITTLE DOTTY TOO bumping on occasion.

OWN GOAL was best to begin.  MYRNIONG FLOYD and WAIKARIE SYLVIE were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, SENNI LUCILLE was tightened for racing room and shifted out which impeded WAIKARIE SYLVIE, causing WAIKARIE SYLVIE to lose ground.  VALKYRIE BLUE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  SENNI LUCILLE raced very wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race thereafter.
