Stewards’ Trial |
The greyhound BAGS IT’S MINE performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trail, over a distance of 431m, in a time of
25.79 and passed all tracks.

MDNPW – 431M LADY
CRIMSON and JAKEY BOY were both best to begin. LAURASH ACTION and FANCY A BOHERNA were
both marginally slow. At the 1st
turn, BONITA DE KAHN, LAURASH ACTION and TOPDECK DUCK checked, causing
TOPDECK DUK to lose ground as a result.
In the back straight, JAKEY BOY improved onto the heels of LADY
CRIMSON, causing it to lose momentum and yield ground as a result. LADY CRIMSON and JAKEY BOY raced tight and
checked leaving the top turn. The
greyhound LADY CRIMSON underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound JAKEY BOY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN –
431M MASTER TIDE was best to begin, KID SUNRISE was marginally
slow. At the 1st turn, MINI
BLUE was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the turn out of the back straight,
MINNIE BLUE checked off heels and lost considerable ground as a result. FROSTY BLACK JAY raced wide in the back
straight, and continued to race wide for the remainder of the race
thereafter. Leaving the turn into the
front straight, DRIVES ME CRAZY was impeded and shifted wide as a
result. FROSTY BLACK JAY, which was trailing,
was hampered, causing it to stumble and lose ground. In the front straight, KID SUNRISE deviated
towards MASTER TIDE and made muzzle contact with that greyhound on a number
of occasions. The greyhound MASTER TIDE underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr S Goodwin, in regards
to the performance of the greyhound MASTER TIDE. Mr Goodwin stated that the greyhound was
having its first run at the distance and that could explain why the greyhound
weakened over the concluding stages, and in his opinion would be better for
the run. Stewards’ advised the connections of the greyhound KID
SUNRISE, that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st
Offence, 28 days and greyhound must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial. |

was best to begin, ADHARA GOLD and RIPPLE RYDER were both marginally
slow. At the 1st turn,
ADHARA GOLD and RIPPLE RYDER checked, causing ADHARA GOLD to lose
ground. Leaving the 1st
turn, SPRING SAL checked off heels and lost ground as a result. Approaching the home turn, ADHARA GOLD was
hampered and checked off heels, losing ground as a result. SPRING SAL and TURBO ROY raced tight and
checked just prior to the finish. |

5TH GRADE HEAT 1 - 431M STROGANOFF and ENZO JAZZ were both best to begin, MR
MICKEY was slow. At the 1st
turn, SPANISH HARBOUR, BARNEY’S BOUNTY and SURE SHOT all raced tight and
checked, with all losing ground as a consequence. Approaching the top turn, MR MICKEY shifted
in and made contact with the running rail, losing ground as a result. At the top turn, SURE SHOT checked off
heels and lost significant ground as a result. The greyhound MR MICKEY underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M HANG ON LADS was best to begin. RATHNAIT and MAMMA’S BOY were both
slow. In the 1st turn, HANG
ON LADS stumbled and began to yield ground, taking no further competitive
part in the race thereafter.
BLUEMENTRIT, which was trailing, was inconvenienced as a result and
lost ground. BLUEMENTRIT raced wide in the back straight. Approaching the top turn, MAXIMUM JOAN was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground as a
consequence. The greyhound HANG ON LADS underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
side hock and was humanely euthanised. |

HEAT 3 – 431M Even start. At the
1st turn, MULROONEY and LET’S GO FABIO raced tight and
checked. BINALONG ROAD, which was
trailing, checked off heels and collided into ZAHARA DYE causing both
greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result. Shortly after, WHIPPING MIDGET checked off
heels and lost ground. MULROONEY,
which was trailing, was checked then collided into LET’S GO FABIO, causing
both greyhounds to lose significant ground as a consequence. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
STICKY STICKA was tightened for racing room and lost ground. At the top turn, STICKY STICKA checked off
heels and lost ground. BINALONG ROAD,
which was trailing, was impeded and lost momentum. |

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS
5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 431M ROAD CAM was best to begin, STRUDEL was slow. At the 1st turn, SURFBOARD and
MADRE raced tight and checked. Leaving
the 1st turn, ELEGANT DUK checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the top turn, ELEGANT DUK
commenced to yield ground and finished a substantial distance behind the rest
of the field. GIFTED ANGEL, which was
trailing, was severely impeded as a result and lost substantial ground. ELEGANT DUK and GIFTED ANGEL raced tight
and checked at the turn into the home straight. The greyhound ELEGANT DUK underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards’ spoke to the connections of
ELEGANT DUK in relation to the greyhound’s performance. It was stated that
the greyhound had possibly run too frequently of late, and it was his opinion
that it had raced tired today, and in moving forward he will give the
greyhound more time in between races.

GRADE HEAT 5 – 431M PRATER’S ACE was slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, JIGGLE
SPLAT and NO LAYING BACK checked, causing NO LAYING BACK to shift out. KAWATI SON, NITRO HEROINE and IRON MAID,
which were trailing, were impeded and then checked, with all losing ground to
varying degrees. Leaving the turn into
the back straight, KAWATI SON and NITRO HEROINE checked, causing NITRO
HEROINE to lose ground. Approaching
the top turn, NITRO HEROINE checked off heels and lost ground as a
consequence. PRATER’S ACE and IRON
MAID raced very wide through the turn into the front straight. |

- 431M DAISY DREAMS, MAYWYN REWARDS collided immediately after
the start. Approaching the top turn,
SPRING ROY and YOU JANE raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. YOU JANE raced very wide
through the turn into the front straight. |

MA5 – 431M RUMBLIN’ JAKE was marginally slow to begin. In the 1st turn, RAINBOW RUBY
was tightened for racing room, checked and shifted out. AILLA, which was racing to its outside,
shifted out and checked into PRYO BOB causing both greyhounds to lose
ground. Leaving the top turn, BROOKLYN
SKY commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the
race thereafter. BUD’S DELIGHT and
PYRO BOB raced tight and checked just prior to the finish. The greyhound BROOKLYN SKY underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks. |
