The greyhound GALA SHOW performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 288m, and is now
cleared
to race all tracks.

1 – 431M BROKEN YOKE
and MINNIE BLUE were best to begin.
BONITA DE KAHN and LONESOME DAY were both marginally slow. At the 1st turn, FANCY A BOHERNA
commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race
thereafter. Approaching the top turn,
LONESOME DAY was impeded and lost ground.

FANCY A BOHERNA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained an injury to the near hip and was stood down for a period of
21 days |

SKY RACING MAIDEN
HEAT 2 – 431M MAGIC MALT was best to begin, LAURASH ACTION was
slow. LAURASH ACTION remained a considerable
distance behind the remainder of the field for the entirety of the race. Approaching the 1st turn, SPUR
ON checked off heels, shifted out and collided into FARMOR EFFECTED, causing
both greyhounds to lose ground.
Shortly after, BELL BURTON checked off heels and lost ground. SPUR ON, which was trailing, collided into
the rear of BELL BURTON and lost substantial ground as a consequence. In the back straight, NOIRE DREAM and MAGIC
MALT raced tight and checked.
Approaching the top turn, MAGIC MALT was impeded, checked and lost
momentum. Leaving the turn into the
front straight, MAGIC MALT was impeded behind BELL BURTON, checked and lost significant
ground as a consequence. The greyhound LAURASH ACTION underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the hind
and back muscles and was stood down for a period of 28 days |

BIG HERO SIX was marginally slow.
Leaving the 1st turn, JAKEY BOY was tightened for racing
room, checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a consequence. AL BRUTON was inconvenienced as a result of
that contact, and lost ground as a result.
Approaching the top turn, BIG HERO SIX checked off heels and lost
ground. BIG HERO SIX raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE – 431M RACE 4 was delayed by approximately 3mins due to a
mechanical failure with the boxes. All races were by manual start for the
remainder of the 431m races. SASSY OAKS and SNOW GIRL were both best to begin, ADHARA
GOLD was slow. SPRING COLLEEN, SIN
CITY KITTY, LITTLE LUCK, RIPPLE RYDER and SNOW GIRL raced tight and checked
approaching the 1st turn, with RIPPLE RYDER and LITTLE LUCK
checking off heels and losing significant ground as a consequence. ADHARA GOLD was inconvenienced by that
contact and shifted wide and lost momentum as it did. Prior to the finish line, ADHARA GOLD deviated
toward SASSY OAKS and made muzzle contact with that greyhound. The greyhound LITTLE LUCK underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Connections to the greyhound, ADHARA GOLD, were advised
that the greyhound would be charged under Rule R69 Marring 3rd
Offence, 12 months and greyhound must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trail,
431m. |

GRADE (1) – 431M ELLY BYE BYE was best to
begin. Approaching the 1st
turn, BLUE LEMONADE, TOPAZ TAN, HONEY HORNET, BUD’S DELIGHT and LA BAMBA came
together and checked, with all losing ground to varying degrees. Approaching the turn into the front
straight, HONEY HORNET was tightened for racing room and lost ground. |

JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MIXED 3/4 – 431M SPRING REINA and CAPTAIN TIL were both best to
begin. ANOTHER RED and ASTIN’S WARRIOR
were both marginally slow. SPRING
REINA and CAPTAIN TIL checked at the 1st turn, causing CAPTAIN TIL
to become unbalanced and lose ground as a result. SOLTADOR, which was
trailing, checked into CAPTAIN TIL, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as
a result. |

MIXED 4/5 – 520M FARMOR IN TIME was best to begin, HIGH CLASS BELLE and
HITCHIKER DUDE were both marginally slow.
Approaching the 1st turn, HIGH CLASS BELLE checked off
heels and shifted out, checking into MAN OF LEISURE as it did, causing both
greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result. HITCHIKER DUDE, which was trailing, was
severely impeded and lost substantial ground as a consequence. Leaving the 1st turn, HIGH CLASS
BELLE checked off heels and lost ground.
Approaching the top turn, APOLLO’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing
room, stumbled and lost ground, dropping back to through the field for the
remainder of the race thereafter. The greyhound APOLLO’S WARRIOR underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr M Emery, about
the performance of the greyhound APOLLO’S WARRIOR. Mr Emery stated that he believed the
greyhound was severely out graded in tonight’s event and as a result, was
outclassed. Mr M Emery advised stewards on the 13th April
that an injury was detected in a follow up consultation of his greyhound and
that it would be managed accordingly. The greyhound, JOKER JOKER, was
inspected by the veterinary surgeon, in the kennel block, after the
completion of race 8, and was declared deceased. The greyhound was sent to
the University of Queensland’s Gatton Campus for an autopsy report. . |

WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M BRIGHTEST STAR was best to begin, DUDE
PERFECT and AGENT’S CHOICE were both marginally slow. DUDE PERFECT raced wide through the 1st
turn, and for the majority of the race thereafter. |

5TH GRADE (2) – 431M SURFBOARD was best to begin, MAXIMUM JOAN and MR. RALPH
were both marginally slow. In the 1st
turn, GOOD GOLLY OLLY checked off heels and lost ground. SPRING RUBY, which was trailing, was
inconvenienced and lost considerable ground as a consequence. SNOWBALL CREED, which was racing to the
outside of that greyhound, was inconvenienced also and lost ground. In the back straight, JESSIE’S STAR was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
MAXIMUM JOAN and MR. RALPH bumped. |

SKY RACING 5PW – 431M TURBO ROY was best to begin. In the 1st turn, NOIRE CHERIE
and GIFTED ANGEL raced tight, and checked, with both losing considerable
ground as a consequence. NEDGO
PRINCESS which raced to the outside of those greyhounds, was inconvenienced
and lost ground. Leaving the turn into
the back straight, WAIKARIE SYLVIE was tightened for racing room, became
unbalanced and lost ground as a result.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, WAIKARIE SYLVIE stumbled and
became unbalanced. NOIRE CHERIE, which
was racing to its outside, was momentarily impeded and lost momentum. TURBO ROY and NEDGO PRINCESS raced tight,
and bumped on occasion over the concluding stages of the race. |
