RACE REPORTS

 

Prior to the commencement of race 1, all races were put back a race to allow time for the race day

announcer and the camera man to arrive. A traffic accident had hindered their travel.

 

1.

MISS EMMY was best to begin and shifted out immediately after the start, inconveniencing DRIVES ME CRAZY, REBEUS and GALWAY BLUEBIRD as it did.  ANGELS ARE REAL was very slow to begin.  DRIVES ME CRAZY, REBEUS, FARMOR EFFECTED and GALWAY BLUEBIRD raced tight and checked at the 1st turn, causing those greyhounds to lose ground to varying degrees.  GALWAY BLUEBIRD was tightened for racing room and lost ground leaving the turn into the back straight.  ANGELS ARE REAL and BONITA DE KAHN, which were trailing, collided into GALWAY BLUEBIRD, causing all three greyhounds to lose significant ground as a consequence.  Shortly after, FARMOR EFFECTED and MASTER BULLET raced tight and checked, causing both to lose considerable ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, ANGELS ARE REAL commenced to yield ground, which inconvenienced MASTER BULLET which was trailing, causing that greyhound to lose ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, DRIVES ME CRAZY shifted out checking off the heels of MISS EMMY as it did and continued to race very wide for the remainder of the race.

 

The greyhound ANGELS ARE REAL underwent a 2nd  post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days

SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M

LADYLIKE GRACE, GO FOR CHUCK and POWDER were best to begin.  FROSTY BLACKJAY was marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, FARMOR SUSPENSE was tightened for racing room and lost ground as a result.  Shortly after, STOP THE IMAGE was tightened for racing room, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground as a consequence.  Approaching the top turn, FARMOR SUSPENSE checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, POWDER turned its head and deviated towards GO FOR CHUCK, causing it to check with GO FOR CHUCK and lose momentum.  Shortly after, FARMOR SUSPENSE and STOP THE IMAGE raced tight and bumped.  GO FOR CHUCK and POWDER continued to the race tight and bumped on occasion over the concluding stages of the race. 

 

The greyhound POWDER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FARMOR SUSPENSE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr M Vincent, that the greyhound POWDER would be charged under Rule 69(a) Failing to Pursue 1st Offence, 28 days and greyhound must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, 431m all tracks.

GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE – 431M

ROSDUE BARISTA was slow to begin.  In the 1st turn, WERINA MAGIC improved into the hindquarters of REGAL TOPAZ, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a consequence.  Approaching the top turn, REGAL TOPAZ checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, REGAL TOPAZ and ROSDUE LEON bumped, with REGAL TOPAZ racing very wide through the turn afterwards.  WERINA MAGIC and ROSDUE LEON raced tight and bumped on occasion over the concluding stages of the race.

 

The greyhound REGAL TOPAZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  At the 1st turn, the entire field, apart from WILDASH CECIL and SURFBOARD, came together and checked causing all to lose ground to varying degrees, particularly SMALL JEWEL and ZAHARA DYE which lost substantial ground as a consequence.  At the top turn, MONDELLA checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound SMALL JEWEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

COOKIE NO CREAM was best to begin.  TOPAZ TAN, YOU JANE, HAD BETTER DAZE and ENZO JAZZ raced tight and checked shortly after the start, with all losing ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, ODESSA and IRONBARK RICKY checked, causing ODESSA to lose ground.  TOPAZ TAN and HAD BETTER DAZE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

BLACK SHARK was best to begin, RATHNAIT was slow.  At the 1st turn, SIMMSY’S NINERON and FARMOR IN TUNE raced tight and checked, causing SIMMSY’S NINERON to lose significant ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, BLACK SHARK improved onto the hindquarters of KAWATI SON, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result.  At the top turn, RATHNAIT was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Shortly after, SIMMSY’S NINERON commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  PRATER’S ACE raced wide through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound SIMMSY’S NINERON underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 28 days

COSMO TRAV was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, ORPHAN ANNIE and JESS ROSE HI checked.  Leaving the 1st turn, MY GLORIOUS GAL checked off heels and lost ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, MY GLORIOUS GAL checked off heels and lost significant ground as a consequence. 

 

The greyhound MY GLORIOUS GAL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HAY BILLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SPRING REINA was best to begin.  OPPORTUNE KNOCKA and PRATER’S SAINT were both marginally slow.  SECOND GEAR and KAAN PAKMAK checked immediately after the start, with KAAN PAKMAK losing ground as a consequence.  PRATER’S SAINT raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, SECOND GEAR was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  PRATER’S SAINT raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

GJ WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 431M

CAEDLIN ROSE HI was very slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, STRUDEL and REGAL CYNDIE raced tight and checked, causing REGAL CYNDIE to become unbalanced and to lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, STRUDEL checked off heels and lost considerable ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, SPRING LOTTIE shifted in causing SMART WERINA to be tightened for racing room and lose significant ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, ROAD CAM commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.

 

The greyhound ROAD CAM underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered from cramping and was stood down for a period of 10 days

 

Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr T Guymer, that the greyhound ROAD CAM would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, 10 days and greyhound must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, 431m all tracks.

PYRO BOB and KEAVY were both best to begin.  GUY FAWKES and ASTIN’S WARRIOR were both marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, PYRO BOB and THOMAS ROSE HI were both tightened for racing room and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  ASTIN’S WARRIOR, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground as a result.
