GENERAL |
QRIC stewards today concluded an inquiry in
relation to the greyhound SKYLARK BROOKE, which regurgitated 2 tablets
shortly after being kennelled at the meeting of Ipswich 08.05.18. Mr Les
Lewis the trainer of SKYLARK BROOKE admitted to administering Slow-K tablets
to SKYLARK BROOKE on the day that the greyhound was to race. Stewards issued
a charge against Mr Lewis under GAR 83A(1) – Raceday treatment. Mr Lewis plead
guilty to the charge and was subsequently fined a sum of $200. In considering
penalty, stewards took into account Mr Lewis’s early guilty plea, his
cooperation and forthright evidence and the fact the penalty must act as a
deterrent. Mr Lewis was advised of his right to an internal review. |
