ORIGIN GREYHOUND SERIES JULY 12 MAIDEN
HEAT 1 – 431M NITRO NORMA
and SPRING FESTIVAL were both best to begin, SECRET KEPT was slow. PHAROAH’S GOLD, EYE LIKE CAKE and ROSDUE
JAFFA raced tight and checked shortly after the start, becoming unbalanced
and losing ground as a result. At the
1st turn, NITRO NORMA was tightened for racing room and lost
ground. Shortly after, SECRET KEPT and
PHAROAH’S GOLD raced tight and checked, losing considerable ground as a
result. Leaving the turn into the back
straight, COST A PENNY checked off heels and lost significant ground as a
consequence. DAVE THE RAVE raced wide
through the turn into the back straight.
Leaving the turn into the back straight, EYE LIKE CAKE shifted out which
impeded COST A PENNY and ROSDUE JAFFA causing both those greyhounds to check
off heels and lose substantial ground as a consequence. The greyhound
COST A PENNY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

QLD VS NSW ORIGIN
SPRINT JULY 12 MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 431M DOREAS was
best to begin, SPRING REBEL and GALWAY CLARA were both slow and checked
shortly after. NEVER, ROSIE GAZE, WILD
SPARK and SHEZA RENEGADE raced tight and bumped immediately after the start. Approaching the 1st turn,
BALLYMAC JAY, NEVER, WILD SPARK and SHEZA RENEGADE raced tight and checked,
causing NEVER to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground. Approaching the turn into the front
straight, SPRING REBEL was impeded and shifted wide through the turn, NEVER
raced wide through the turn into the front straight. |

QLD VS NSW ORIGIN
DISTANCE JULY 12 MAIDEN FINAL – 431M FLASH MAGIC,
SWEET OAKS and ARCHIE MARSHALL were all best to begin. The field, apart from ARCHIE MARSHALL and
ROSEY’S LASS, raced tight and checked after the start, with all losing ground
to varying degrees. At the 1st
turn, COOL HAND GUS was impeded, shifted out and collided with RISING BEYOND,
which also inconvenienced IRISH DAZZLER and ROSEY’S LASS, which were
trailing, causing all those greyhounds to lose significant ground as a
consequence. COOL HAND GUS, SWEET OAKS
and ARCHIE MARSHALL raced tight at the turn into the back straight, causing
ARCHIE MARSHALL to be checked and to lose ground. Approaching the top turn, RISING BEYOND was
impeded and lost momentum. Shortly
after, RISING BEYOND checked off heels and lost ground. IRISH DAZZLER, ARCHIE MARSHALL and ROSEY’S
LASS raced tight over the concluding stages of the race. |

QLD VS NSW ORIGIN MATCH RACE JULY 12 NOVICE – 431M SNOW GIRL and CAWBOURNE FAWNY were both best to begin, INOUNO was
marginally slow. In the 1st
turn, COUNT WERINA shifted inwards causing ROSDUE LEON, IN YOUR EYES, ROSDUE
MATAO and COUNT WERINA to race extremely tight and check, with ROSDUE LEON
coming into contact with the running rail, and ROSDUE LEON, IN YOUR EYES and
ROSDUE MATAO to lose substantial ground as a consequence. INOUNO raced
extremely wide into the back straight.
Approaching the top turn, SNOW GIRL was tightened for racing room,
checked off heels and lost ground.
INOUNO raced extremely wide into the front straight. The greyhound ROSDUE LEON underwent a post race veterinary examination
and was found to have sustained an injury to the off calf and was stood down
for a period of 10 days. |

ORIGIN AT ALBION PARK JULY 12 MIXED
3/4 – 431M GET SHORTY
and COSMIC CAPERS were both best to begin, PRECIOUS SAL was slow. Approaching the 1st turn, SPRING
ELLIE and COSMIC CAPERS checked, causing SPRING ELLIE to lose ground and
VELOCITY ZARIN, which was trailing to be inconvenienced and to lose ground
also. At the 1st turn, SPRING LOTTIE and VELOCITY ZARIN checked,
causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
SPRING ELLIE checked off heels and lost considerable ground. SPRING ELLIE raced wide through the turn
into the front straight. The greyhound
LIGHTNING WHITE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained an injury to the near hind and was stood down for a period of
7days. |

QLD VS NSW ORIGIN JULY 12 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M WILLY TOULA
was best to begin, BROTHER TREVOR was extremely slow. At the 1st turn, the majority of
the field raced tight and checked, with PARIS QUEEN, SPRING IVAN and CIANNA’S
ANGEL losing significant ground as a consequence. Approaching the top turn, KOWBOY DE KAHN
checked off heels and lost ground.
BROTHER TREVOR and CIANNA’S ANGEL, which were trailing, were
inconvenienced as a result and lost ground.
Leaving the top turn, PARIS QUEEN checked off heels and became
severely unbalanced and lost substantial ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
CIANNA’S ANGEL and BROTHER TREVOR raced tight and checked on a number of
occasions, and continued to race tight and bump over the concluding stages of
the race. The greyhound
SPRING IVAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

and BLUMENTRIT were both best to begin.
In the 1st turn, SURFBOARD and LEST WE checked, causing
LEST WE to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground as a result. |

VS BLUES ORIGIN JULY 12TH 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M CRAZY BELLA was best to begin, YEAH
OKAY was marginally slow. In the front straight on the first occasion, CRAZY
BELLA shifted out and raced tight with SAIL SURFER and SNOWBALL CREED,
causing SAIL SURFER to stumble and lose ground. LILY’S BEAN, YEAH OKAY and
NIVEK RETSERROF which were trailing that greyhound, were all inconvenienced
and lost considerable ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the back
straight SAIL SURFER checked off heels and lost ground. Leaving the top turn
YEAH OKAY was tightened for racing room and lost ground, SAIL SURFER which
was trailing was impeded and lost momentum. CRAZY BELLA shifted out over the
concluding stages of the race, which momentarily impeded SNOWBALL CREED,
causing that greyhound to lose momentum. |

GO THE MAROONS –
ORIGIN JULY 12 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M Even
start. The entire field raced tight into
the 1st turn, with STAR RISE, HYPO SHOW and MULGOWIE YOWIE
tightened for racing room and losing ground.
KALAIN KARL and SKYLARK BROOKE bumped leaving the turn into the back
straight. In the back straight, HYPO
SHOW checked off heels and lost ground.
Approaching the top turn, GOOD DAZE AHEAD was tightened for racing
room, checked off heels and lost ground.
GOOD DAZE AHEAD raced wide through the turn into the front straight,
and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

GO THE BLUES – ORIGIN
JULY 12 5PW – 431M TEN GALLON
HAT was marginally slow to begin. NO
LAYING BACK and ORACLE KATE raced tight and checked at the 1st
turn, with ORACLE KATE dropping back and colliding into ALLPA MAMA, causing
both those greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence. At the top turn, TEN GALLON HAT and SPRING
SHELLEY raced tight and bumped. The
greyhound LAZZA MANAZZA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |
