MAIDEN – 520M STOP
THE IMAGE was best to begin. EL BAZZA
and NEVER were both marginally slow.
FROSTY BLACK JAY raced wide through the 1st turn, and
continued wide into the back straight. Approaching the turn into the back
straight, EL BAZZA brushed the running rail.
The
greyhound EL BAZZA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING
NOVICE – 520M BUTTERFLY IS SHE and BROKEN YOLK were both best to
begin. Approaching the 1st
turn, EARS UP was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost
ground. At the 1st turn,
SPRING WINE and STOP IT LACHLAN checked.
Shortly after, ROSDUE KIRRA and SPRING WINE checked. ROSDUE MATAO, which was trailing, collided
heavily into SPRING WINE, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground
as a consequence. BUTTERFLY IS SHE
shifted out and impeded SHINE ANNA over the concluding stages of the race. Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr C Byers, in
regards to the performance of his greyhound, SPRING WINE, which dropped out
over the concluding stages of the race.
Mr Byers stated that the greyhound was having its 1st run
at this distance, at the track. He further stated that as a result of its
performance tonight, his intention would be putting the greyhound over the
shorter distance races moving forward. The greyhound SPRING WINE underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound ROSDUE MATAO underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks. |

and WILLY TOULA were both best to begin.
At the 1st turn, the field, with the exception of SPRING
REINA, came together and checked, with all losing ground to varying
degrees. PITTSBURGH PHIL and ENJOY THE
SHOW lost substantial ground as a result of that contact. Leaving the turn into the back straight, ENJOY
THE SHOW improved onto the rear of WILLY TOULA, causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. Approaching the top turn,
ENJOY THE SHOW and SPRING SHELLEY raced tight and bumped. Leaving the top turn, PITTSBURGH PHIL was
impeded and lost momentum. The greyhound
ENJOY THE SHOW underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. The greyhound
PITSBURGH PHIL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained a laceration to the near side front foot and was stood down
for a period of 10 days. |

TREMBATH
TYRE REPAIRS MIXED 4/5 – 431M COOKIE NO CREAM and EXPONENTIAL were both best to
begin. At the 1st turn,
SPRING BENNY and NO MORE CAKE checked, causing NO MORE CAKE to become
severely unbalanced and both greyhounds to lose ground. Leaving the turn into the back straight
LARRIKIN LASS shifted outwards which caused SECOND GEAR which was racing to its outside
to race wide aswell. Approaching the
top turn, SPRING WATTLE was tightened for racing room and lost ground. NO MORE CAKE raced wide through the turn
into the front straight and for the remainder of the race. |

5PW – 520M LET’S WIN BILLY began
awkwardly. Approaching the 1st
turn, ALLPA MAMA improved onto the rear of RAZZIAI RAIN, which caused that
greyhound to stumble and check into GALLON.
ALLPA MAMA also stumbled as a result of that contact and lost ground. SMOKEY WISHES, was also inconvenienced as a
result of that incident, and shifted wide through the turn into the back
straight, losing ground as a consequence.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, RAZZIAI RAIN bumped into
GALLON, then checked off the heels of REPTAR, losing ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the front
straight, ALLPA MAMA was momentarily impeded and lost momentum. The greyhound SMOKEY WISHES
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

BUTCHER CO 5TH
GRADE – 520M BELLA CETTE was best to begin,
CLICK COWAN was slow. Leaving the turn
in the front straight, KULU EAGLE and ROSDUE SHAKA bumped. Shortly after, CLICK COWAN shifted out and
checked into DISCO DOLLY, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. |

slow. Approaching the 1st
turn, KULU CHANCE was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost
ground. PRATER’S ACE, which was
trailing, was inconvenienced and shifted out losing ground as it did. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
SURFBOARD was tightened for racing room and lost momentum. In the front straight, DRAW THE WHIP and
IZY GOLD bumped. |

COL HARRIS
GOLD SOV IPS 0-4 WINS FINAL – 630M DOUBLE SPUR
was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 1st turn, TOPAZ TAN and NIVEK RETSERROF
checked, causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose ground. BERGAMO, which was trailing, was impeded
and shifted out losing ground as a result.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, NIVEK RETSERROF shifted
out and impeded BERGAMO as it did, causing both greyhounds to lose
ground. Leaving the turn into the back
straight, BERGAMO was tightened for racing room and lost ground. NIVEK RETSERROF shifted out and raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.
The greyhound
BERGAMO underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the near side fore, abraded pad, and was stood down
for a period of 5 days. The greyhound
PHANTOM PETE underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained a sprain to the off side hock and was stood down for a period
of 10 days. |

SKY RACING 5TH
GRADE (2) – 431M NO LAYING
BACK and SHAKEY RANDLE were both best to begin. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
SPRING ROY was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost
ground. VOLKEY, which was trailing,
collided into the rear of SPRING ROY and lost significant ground as a
result. At the same time, BUD’S
DELIGHT and SHAKEY RANDLE checked and lost momentum. In the back straight, SPRING ROY and SPRING
SAL raced tight and bumped. SLICE OF
CAKE and VOLKEY raced tight and bumped leaving the turn into the front
straight. Stewards’
questioned licensed trainer, Mr C Byers, in relation to the performance of
his greyhound SPRING ROY tonight. Mr
Byers stated that he was disappointed with the way the greyhound began and
that it usually leads, as opposed to being back in the field. Mr Byers
further stated he felt this contributed to its performance tonight and he was
very disappointed in general with the run. |

ROUND was best to begin. The field,
apart from IMPOSSIBLE and CAKES ALL ROUND, came together and checked at the 1st
turn, causing all to lose ground, especially HAD BETTER DAZE, SPRING RUBY and
REGAL TOPAZ, which lost significant ground as a result of that contact. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
HAD BETTER DAZE shifted out and collided with REGAL TOPAZ, causing both
greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result. Approaching the top turn, HAD BETTER DAZE
and SPRING RUBY, checked and lost considerable ground as a result. Leaving the top turn, NEXT and AL BRUTON checked
and lost momentum. AL BRUTON and SPRING
IVY bumped leaving the turn into the front straight. |
