Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ADP GROUP MAIDEN – 520M

 

BELLE OF SWORDS best to begin.  Shortly after the start, RISING BEYOND, NIGHT NINJA and SILVER LUX bumped.  In the 1st turn, AYE JOHNS shifted out checking BEE SOLO.  Leaving the 1st turn, NIGHT NINJA commenced to give ground in open running.  In the top turn, BEE SOLO shifted out and checked SILVER LUX and MARANOA MISS, causing MARANOA MISS to fall. 

 

Connection to the greyhound, NIGHT NINJA, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 39 Weight Variation, and would be stood down for a period of 28 days and would be required to perform a stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

The greyhound NIGHT NINJA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound AYE JOHNS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pencil muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

The greyhound MARANOA MISS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off dew claw and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 2 – CAMPBELL CONSTRUCTIONS NOVICE – 431M

 

FIVE GALLON HAT and LET’S WIN BILLY were best to begin.  In the 1st turn all greyhounds, except FIVE GALLON HAT, were tightened for racing room and hampered at differing degrees.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, FAKE NEWS, BALLYMAC JAY and LET’S WIN BILLY all raced tight, causing BALLYMAC JAY to fall and give no further competitive part in the race.  In the top turn, FAKE NEWS was tightened for racing room and was hampered.  In the front straight, FARMOR SUSPENSE and LET’S WIN BILLY bumped on numerous occasions. 

 

The greyhound BALLYMAC underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – SCANLAN LOGISTICS NOVICE – 520M

 

LALLYBROCH was best to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, UNIQUE LEIGH and RED HOT GOSSIP bumped.  In the back straight, GALWAY PANTHER was wide.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, UNIQUE LEIGH and EYE LIKE CAKE collided.  Approaching the finishing line, GALWAY PANTHER and EYE LIKE CAKE bumped. 

 

Race 4 – BLUE DOG TRAINING MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 431M

 

Even start.  In the 1st turn, BLOZA, NO LAYING BACK, BOGIE TEEJAY and PYRO BOB raced tight, causing PYRO BOB to stumble and lose ground.  Entering the front straight, WILDASH NITRO shifted out checking BLOZA.  In the back straight, NO LAYING BACK raced wide. 

 

Race 5 – PRISTINE POWER 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M

 

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn, LIKA VAUTIN and BELLEEK bumped.  Leaving the 1st turn, HYPO SHOW, FANTASIA LEE and ARCH RIVAL collided, causing FANTASIA LEE to lose ground. In the top turn, ELEGANT DUK and LIKA VAUTIN collided, causing both greyhounds to shift out and lose ground.  In the front straight, HYPO SHOW and ARCH RIVAL bumped. 

 

Race 6 – SAMMUT BULOW 5TH GRADE (2) – 431m

 

Even start, with GITCHA HUMMIN’ marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, SENOR’S HEIR and MAYWYN PROMISES collided, causing GALA SHOW to be checked, and MAYWYN PROMISES to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, LET’ GO FABIO got onto the hindquarters of MAYWYN PROMISES, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  At the same time, SENOR’S HEIR and GITCH HUMMIN’ bumped. Rounding the top turn, GET SHORTY and PRATER’S RECRUIT raced tight.  In the front straight, SENOR’S HEIR and GITCHA HUMMIN’ bumped on numerous occasions, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound MAYWYN PROMISES underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound GITCHA HUMMIN’ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – WESTSIDE CONCRETE PUMPING MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

REGAL TOPAZ was best to begin, with PRATER’S ACE marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, CRAZY BELLA and PRATER’S PROMISE were tightened for racing room.  Approaching the 1st turn, PHANTOM PETE and PRATER’S PROMISE bumped, causing KYLE THE TANK to be checked.

 

Race 8 – INFINITY EARTHMOVING 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

 

BUTTERFLY IS SHE was best to begin, with PORT LISA marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, ALLPA MAMA and EMPIRE REIGN raced tight.  At the same time, PORT LISA commenced to give ground in open running.  In the 1st turn, REGAL EMERALD, EMPIRE REIGN and SURFBOARD collided, causing EMPIRE REIGN to fall and give no further competitive part in the race. In the front straight, ALLPA MAMA and SURFBOARD bumped.

 

The greyhound EMPIRE REIGN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PORT LISA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

 

Race 9 – ASTUTE HOMES AND POOLS 5TH GRADE (3) – 431M

 

Even start, with APOLLO’S WARRIOR marginally slow. Entering the 1st turn, HAD BETTER DAZE clipped heels and was hampered.  Entering the back straight, WHITE EAGLE got onto the hindquarters of SMOKIN’ ALICE, causing SMOKIN’ ALICE to lose ground. Approaching the top turn, PARIS QUEEN and GOOD GOLLY OLLY collided, causing PARIS QUEEN to lose ground. In the front straight, PARIS QUEEN, WHITE EAGLE and SMOKIN’ ALICE collided and bumped on numerous occasions.

 

 

Race 10 – ACS GROUP 5TH GRADE (4) – 431M

 

Even start, with SIX GUN marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, GOT THERE and GIFTED ANGEL bumped. Entering the 1st turn, GOT THERE and GIFTED ANGEL bumped, resulting in SIX GUN to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, PASSIVE PROTEST and NINPIN bumped.
