Race Reports
Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN (1) – 431M
ROSIE GAZE was
marginally slow to begin. Approaching
the 1st turn, PROPOSAL shifted inwards bumping into REBEL CRY and
becoming unbalanced. Leaving the 1st turn, STORM POWER, RISING
BEYOND and REBEL CRY came together and checked, with REBEL CRY shifting out and
colliding into BAN CHI BABY, with both REBEL CRY and BAN CHI BABY losing
considerable ground as a result. Leaving
the turn into the back straight, ROSIE GAZE and BAN CHI BABY collided and
checked. Shortly after, RISING BEYOND
and BLUE GIRL BLUE checked and lost momentum.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, REBEL CRY shifted out and
make muzzle contact with BLUE GIRL BLUE, which was racing to its outside,
causing both REBEL CRY and BLUE GIRL BLUE to lose significant ground.
Stewards’ spoke with
licensed trainer, Mr D Turley, in relation to the improved performance of his
greyhound PROPOSAL today. Mr Turley
stated that the greyhound had some injury issues with its webbing and he
believes that they have been overcome. Mr D Turley further stated that the
greyhound had been trialling well recently and so feels that these factors
contributed to the greyhound’s performance today.
The greyhound ROSIE
GAZE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10
days.
Connection to the
greyhound, REBEL CRY, was informed that the greyhound would be charged under
Rule 69, Marring 1st offence, with the greyhound being stood down
for a period of 28 days, and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to
racing.
Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) – 431M
OUTBACK
MANDRAKE was best to begin, CHANCE ME BRO was marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, BLUE JAY
JAY, MAD ELLY DEE and DARBY’S GIRL raced tight and
checked. DARBY’S GIRL raced wide through
the turn into the back straight.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, MAD ELLY DEE shifted in
and bumped CHANCE ME BRO, causing CHANCE ME BRO to lose momentum.
Race 3 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NPW – 431M
Best to begin was
CAWBOURNE FAWNY, ROSDUE BARISTA was marginally slow. Shortly after the start, BLACK KOALA shifted
in which impeded the running of WHO SAID SO, with both greyhounds colliding
with SUCCATASH. Approaching the turn
into the back straight, ROSDUE BARISTA and BLACK KOALA collided. At the same time, MR. POLITIS checked off
heels and lost ground. SUCCATASH, which
was trailing, checked off heels also and lost ground. Approaching the top turn, MAYWYN’S NOMAD
shifted in, which impeded MY BOUQUET, causing that greyhound to lose
ground.

EL DOUBLE ONE was best
to begin. ROSDUE KIRRA was extremely
slow. Approaching the 1st
turn, ONE WHISPER was impeded, shifted out and collided with SUPER CETTE, causing
both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.
Shortly after, ROYAL PLAY and BROKEN YOLK checked. Approaching the top turn, ONE WHISPER was
tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
ROSDUE KIRRA checked off heels and became unbalanced.
Stewards spoke to
licenced trainer Mr T Chapman in relation to its box manner. Mr T Chapman
stated that he was at a loss to explain why the greyhound began poorly from the
boxes as it never has before, Stewards advised Mr T Chapman that the greyhound
will be monitored moving forward.
The greyhound ONE
WHISPER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 5 – CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE
HEAT 1 – 431M
Shortly after the
start, PROPER GENT, CLICK COWAN and ALPHA DAENERYS bumped. BELL BURTON, KAKEI and ROSDUE MISTY raced
tight into the 1st turn, KAKEI tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Shortly after, CLICK
COWAN improved onto the rear of KAKEI, causing that greyhound to lose
significant ground as a result. At the
same time, BELL BURTON checked off heels and lost ground.
Stewards’ spoke to
licensed trainer, Mr P Hennelly, in regards to the
performance of his greyhound KAKEI. Mr Hennelly stated that the greyhound had a query at the
distance and he wasn’t of the belief could run it out, and after getting an
initial contact, and being small in stature, the greyhound failed to finish the
race accordingly. Mr Hennelly
further stated that it was his intention to race the greyhound at Albion Park
in future, where he feels it performs better.
The greyhound KAKEI
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.

HEAT 2 – 431M
BETTY’S SON was best to
begin, REBEL KENNELLY was marginally slow.
Shortly after the start, REBEL KENNELLY was tightened for racing room
and lost momentum. In the 1st turn,
SPRING SAL improved onto the heels of RICHMOND ROAD, causing RICHMOND ROAD to
become unbalanced. Leaving the turn into
the back straight, SPRING SAL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Approaching the top turn, BETTY’S
SON shifted in, which momentarily impeded COUNT WERINA. Shortly after, AL BRUTON was impeded and
lost momentum.
Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 5TH GRADE FINAL –
431M
NO LAYING BACK was best
to begin, SPRING WINE was slow. In the 1st
turn, SPRING WINE came into contact with the running rail and lost ground. Shortly after, SPRING REBEL and SPRING
COLLEEN raced tight and checked. STICKY
STICKA, which was trailing, was impeded and checked off heels. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
SPRING COLLEEN shifted in and collided into STICKY STICKA, causing both those
greyhounds to lose substantial ground. SPRING
WINE and MONDELLA, which were trailing those greyhounds, were severely
inconvenienced and lost ground.
Approaching the top turn, MONDELLA shifted in, which impeded STICKY
STICKA, causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose momentum. Shortly after, SPRING WINE and SPRING COLLEEN
collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.
The greyhound SPRING
WINE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.

GRADE – 431M
I’VE GOT CENTS and AZA
ZEUS were both best to begin, GUY FAWKES was slow. In the 1st turn, HAD BETTER DAZE
was tightened for racing room and lost substantial ground as a result. Leaving the top turn, AZA ZEUS stumbled and
lost ground. Leaving the turn into the
front straight, GUY FAWKES was momentarily impeded and lost momentum.
Race 9 – GJ WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 –
431M
ROSDUE SHAKA was best
to begin. SNOW GIRL, SPRING BENNY and
SASSY OAKS all raced tight through the 1st corner, with SNOW GIRL
and SASSY OAKS checking. SPRING BENNY
was impeded and lost ground. REACTOR,
which was trailing, was inconvenienced and shifted wide. Leaving the 1st turn, MASTER
BULLET and ROSDUE SKAKA collided and lost ground. REACTOR raced wide through the turn into the
back straight and also through the turn into the front straight.

HOLLY KNOCKS was best
to begin, RUMBLING JAKE was slow. In the
1st turn, PLANE SPOTTER commenced to yield ground and failed to
finish the event. RUMBLING JAKE, which
was trailing, collided into PLANE SPOTTER and lost significant ground as a
result. Approaching the top turn,
SPUDTASTIC became unbalanced and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, SPUDTASTIC was tightened
for racing room and checked off heels.
Stewards spoke to
licensed trainer Mr R Attard in relation to the
performance of the greyhound SPUDTASTIC. Mr R Attard
stated that it was his intention to race over shorter distances with the
greyhound, moving forward.
The greyhound
SPUDTASTIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found.
The greyhound RUMBLING
JAKE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the near hind toe and was stood down for a period of 7
days.
The greyhound PLANE
SPOTTER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the near side back muscle and was stood down for a
period of 28 days.
