Race 1 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN – 520M
EYE HATE CAKE went up
with the lids and was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, BOGAN WARRIOR was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Rounding the
turn out of the front straight, FROSTY BLACK JAY was tightened for racing room,
checked, shifted out which hampered the running of BOGAN WARRIOR, resulting in
both greyhounds to lose ground. FROSTY
BLACK JAY and EYE HATE CAKE raced wide in the back straight.
When questioned over
the performance of ONE FOR MICK, trainer Mr P O’Reilly, stated that the
greyhound was returning to racing from TOWNSVILLE, where it had been running
over the 380m, whereas tonight’s race was over the 520m, which may have
contributed to the way the greyhound finished the race. He further stated, that it is his intention
was to continue racing ONE FOR MICK over the 520m, as he’s of the view that the
greyhound will be competitive over that distance.
The greyhound ONE FOR MICK underwent a post
race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL – 520M
Prior to the ‘All
Clear” Stewards’ confirmed the judges placings.
GITCHA
LOADED was slow to begin. Rounding the
turn out of the front straight, CHERRY WINE, IVY’S BOUQUET and GITCHA LOADED
all received interference and lost ground.
In the back straight, GITCHA LOADED was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Entering the
front straight, CHERRY WINE shifted out and collided with IVY’S BOUQUET,
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.
Stewards
questioned trainer, Mr C Cassidy, over the actions of CHERRY WINE entering the
front straight. After considering all
available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had
offended, however, the overall performance of CHERRY WINE was deemed
unsatisfactory and was stood down to complete 1 (one) satisfactory stewards’
trial.
The
greyhound CHERRY WINE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound GITCHA LOADED underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a
period of 10 days.

CADOGAN
was slow to begin. Rounding the turn out
of the front straight, CADOGAN shifted in and made contact with the running
rail, checked and fell as a consequence, taking no further part in the
race. SMILING BLONDE and GALWAY PANTHER
were severely checked as a result of this incident, and lost considerable
ground.
The
greyhound SMILING BLONDE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side hind toe - laceration and was
stood down for a period of 14 days.
The
greyhound CADOGAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained an injury to the off side elbow strain and was stood down for a
period of 21 days.
Race 4 – TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS 4TH GRADE – 431M
Shortly
after the start, CAKES ALL ROUND, SHAKEY RANDLE and LOBCHA were all tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Through the 1st turn, VALKYRIE NIGHT was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, CAKES ALL ROUND, LOBCHA and
ELLY BYE BYE all received interference and lost ground. Entering the back straight, VALKYRIE NIGHT
was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. SHAKEY RANDLE, which was trailing, was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
In the front straight, during the run to the finish, GALLEON and WILDASH
NITRO bumped on a number of occasions.
The
greyhound SHAKEY RANDLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to sustained an injury to the near side hind - laceration and was stood
down for a period of 10 days.
Race 5 - #BETONBIRDSVILLE 5PW – 520M
Rounding
the turn out of the front straight, HOT EMBER and ROAR BACK collide. Leaving the back straight, PRATER’S ACE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Race 6 – COFFEE AT RONI’S 5TH GRADE – 520M
Leaving the front
straight, NURBURG, SUPER CUP, LALLYBROCH and STOP THE IMAGE all received
interference and lost ground. Leaving
the back straight, STOP THE IMAGE was tightened for racing room and lost
ground. Shortly after, LALLYBROCH,
NURBURG and SUPER CUP raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked
and lose ground.

GET
MESSI was slow to begin. In the front
straight on the 1st occasion, BUTTERFLY IS SHE checked across heels
and lost ground. Leaving the front
straight, GET MESSI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Approaching the turn into the back
straight, MAN OF LEISURE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Leaving the back straight, MAN
OF LEISURE received interference and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight,
GET MESSI checked across heels and lost ground.
The
greyhound GET MESSI underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 8 – OWNER OF THE YEAR 2006 – KATRINA HOLMES 5TH
GRADE FINAL – 520M
CHIPPIES and CRAZY
BELLA were tightened for racing room shortly after the start, and lost ground.
Leaving the front straight, CHIPPIES and CRAZY BELLA collide, resulting in both
greyhounds to lose considerable ground.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, SNOWBALL CREED and GYPSY
WILD collide, resulting in both greyhounds to check and to lose ground. Entering the back straight, SNOWBALL CREED
was tightened for racing room, shifted out and collided with CRAZY BELLA,
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.
The greyhound CRAZY
BELLA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 9 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM BEST 8 – 520M
ACE GAMBLER was slow to
begin. Shortly after the start, DAISY DREAMS
and NASH TATO collide. Approaching the 1st
turn, LIGHTNING WHITE, DAISY DREAMS, SNOWBALL OTTO and THAT HOUDINI all raced
tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight,
DAISY DREAMS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after, NASH TATO and ACE GAMBLER
collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose considerable
ground. ACE GAMBLER commenced to give
ground round the turn out of the back straight, losing considerable distance
from the remainder of the field. In the
front straight, SNOWBALL OTTO checked across heels and lost ground.
The
greyhound ACE GAMBLER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to be suffering from cramping and hypoxia and was stood down for a period
of 10 days.
Connection
to the greyhound ACE GAMBLER was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory performance, and would be required to perform a
satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.
Race 10 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 5TH GRADE –
431M
TEN GALLON HAT, GOOD
GOLLY OLLY and CAWBOURNE BIGRED was slow to begin. GOOD GOLLY OLLY received interference shortly
after the start and lost ground. Through
the 1st turn, TAZI BE GOOD, REAL JAZZ and GALA SHOW received
interference and lost ground. In the
back straight, MAYWYN PROMISES shifted out, which hampered the running of
PRATER’S RECRUIT. Rounding the turn out
of the back straight, MAYWYN PROMISES shifted out which hampered the running of
PRATER’S RECRUIT.
