Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN – 431M
MY
KID CAMBLA and STRAIT RUM were marginally slow to begin. BAN CHI BABY was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn, GLEN CAMBLA
and TUTA SINGLE ONE collide. Rounding
the turn into the back straight, GLEN CAMBLA was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. MY KID CAMBLA,
which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. STRAIT RUM raced wide in the back
straight. Leaving the back straight, and
for a considerable distance, ROSDUE JAFFA turned its head and marred the
running of LADYLIKE GRACE, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked
and lose considerable ground. Rounding the
turn out of the back straight, MY KID CAMBLA was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Shortly after,
MY KID CAMBLA improved onto the hindquarters of TUTA SINGLE ONE, resulting in
both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
STRAIT RUM and DIZZY CAMBLA were hampered as a consequence to the marring of
LADYLIKE GRACE. Rounding the turn into
the front straight, GLEN CAMBLA was tightened for racing room, checked across
the heels of STRAIT RUM and lost ground as a consequence.
Connection
to the greyhound ROSDUE JAFFA was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 69, Marring 2nd Offence, with the greyhound being stood
down for a period of 3 months and would be required to perform a satisfactory
stewards’ trial prior to racing.
Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL – 431M
IVY’S
BOUQUET was marginally slow to begin.
Through the 1st turn, RINGBARK AMY, BRODEC and VALDA THE
VIKING all collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose
ground. Leaving the back straight,
SILVER LUX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
STORM POWER turned its head and marred the running of LYNNY’S HONEY, resulting
in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. VALDA THE VIKING which was trailing was
severely checked as a result of this incident, and lost considerable
ground.
Connection
to the greyhound STORM POWER was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 69, Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound being stood
down for a period of 28 days at Ipswich, would be and required to perform a
satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

Shortly
after the start, DOREAS and CAMBLA CRUISER collide. Through the 1st turn, all runners,
with the exception of COST A PENNY and ALPHA HESTIA, received interference and
lost ground to varying degrees, with MY BOUQUET losing considerable
ground.
Race 4 – ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE (2) – 431m
Through the 1st
turn, all greyhounds, with the exception of ROSDUE KOLA and BERGARI, all
received interference , losing ground to varying degrees. Approaching the turn into the back straight, NAUGHTY
CAMBLA and SIENNA’S BOY collide, causing both greyhounds to be checked and to
lose ground. In the back straight,
BROKEN YOLK improved onto the heels of NAUGHTY CAMBLA and lost ground. Leaving the back straight, ROSDUE KOLA and
BERGARI collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose
ground.
Stewards’ questioned,
Mr C Emery, trainer’s representative of BERGARI, in regards to the greyhound’s
actions rounding the turn into the front straight. After considering all available evidence,
BERGARI was given the benefit of the doubt as to whether it had offended under
any rule.

– 431M
Approaching
the 1st turn, THUNDER OF FIRE, FRIENDZ and MAMMA’S BOY collide, resulting
in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. Through the 1st turn, BRANDY
CAMBLA checked across heels and collided with REAL JAZZ, resulting in both
greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.
Entering the back straight, FRIENDZ was tightened for racing room,
checked, shifted out and collided with REAL JAZZ, resulting in both greyhounds
to be checked and lose considerable ground.
Entering the front straight, BRANDY CAMBLA and THUNDER OF FIRE collide.
Race 6 - TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS MIXED 4/5TH –

Leaving the front
straight, GRASSETTO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Shortly after, SURFBOARD and
DRAW THE WHIP collide, resulting in DRAW THE WHIP to be checked, shift out and
collided with TOPAZ TAN, resulting in both greyhounds to lose considerable
ground. Entering the back straight,
GRASSETTO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the back straight, FEMME FOLLE
improved onto the heels of REGAL TOPAZ, resulting in that greyhound to checked
and to lose ground.

HAD
BETTER DAZE was marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn,
COMANECI faltered and lost ground.
SAMURAI PIZZACAT which was trailing was checked as a result. Approaching the turn into the back straight,
NO LAYING BACK and GUY FAWKES collide.
In the back straight, NO LAYING BACK and GUY FAWKES collide. Shortly after, COMANECI became awkward and
lost ground. Rounding the turn out of
the back straight, NO MORE CAKE shifted out, which checked the running of
WILDASH CECIL.
COMANECI
underwent a post race veterinary examination, which revealed that the greyhound
was suffering from motor neurone disorder and to have a paralysis tick toxin remaining in
its body, which affected both hind legs and hind quarters. Stewards’ adopted the club’s veterinary
surgeon’s recommendation that COMANECI be stood down from racing for a period
of 28 day, and will be required to trial to the stewards’ satisfaction, on 1
occasion before returning to racing.
Race 8 – BUTCHER CO MIXED 2/3RD GRADE – 431M
Through the 1st
turn, DAISY DREAMS and GALLON collide.
Leaving the back straight, RAZZIAI RAIN was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. RINGBARK MASON,
which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

CLICK COWAN was slow to
begin. Through the 1st turn,
ALPHA PHOEBE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after, STOP THE IMAGE was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
CLICK COWAN, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost
ground. Entering the back straight,
LITTLE LUCK shifted out, which checked the running of LILY’S BEAN. Rounding the turn into the front straight,
LITTLE LUCK shifted out, checked across heels and lost ground.
Race 10 – GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR 2007 – SERIOUS SPEED 5PW –
431M
Through the 1st
turn, TIGGY BUZZARD, KICKER CREW, BOWENVALE and AILLA, were all tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground, with BOWENVALE losing considerable
ground. Leaving the back straight,
CAMBLA FLASH and KICKER CREW were both tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. In the front straight,
during the run to the finish, KICKER CREW checked across heels and lost ground.
The
greyhound AILLA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
be suffering from cramping the and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Connection
to the greyhound AILLA was advised that the greyhound would be charged under
Rule 71, Unsatisfactory Performance, (Cramping) with the greyhound being stood
down for a period of 10 days and would be required to perform a satisfactory
stewards’ trial prior to racing.
