Race 1 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN – 520M
GITCHA
DESTINY, GRU and LADYLIKE GRACE were best to begin, STRAIT RUM was slow. Approaching the 1st turn, MARANOA
MISS and GRU raced tight and checked.
STRAIT RUM raced very wide through the 1st turn. GRU shifted in and checked LADYLIKE GRACE
just prior to the finish.
At
the end of Race 1, licensed trainer, Mr P O’Reilly, was questioned about the
performance of STRAIT RUM. Mr O’Reilly
stated that he was disappointed in the greyhound’s performance although it was
its first attempt over the longer distance tonight. After consideration of the poor performance
of the greyhound, Mr O’Reilly was advised that the performance was bordering on
unsatisfactory.
The
greyhound STRAIT RUM underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 2 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE – 520M
SUPER
CUP was marginally slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, SUPER CUP shifted out and checked across the heels of DEMON FURY.
Approaching the 1st turn, MAN OF LEISURE shifted in, which
impeded HAD BETTER DAZE. Shortly after,
HAD BETTER DAZE shifted out and collided with DEMON FURY, which checked off the
heels of SUPER CUP, causing all three greyhounds to lose significant ground as
a result. At the same time, SKYLARK
BROOKE was tightened for racing room, shifted out and checked COSMIC
CAPERS. Approaching the turn into the
back straight, HAD BETTER DAZE was tightened for racing room and checked. At the top turn, SKYLARK BROOKE shifted in
which impeded SUPER CUP, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.
The
greyhound SUPER CUP underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound DEMON FURY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 3 – SKY RACING MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 431M
AZA
ZEUS was marginally slow to begin. At
the 1st turn, SAMURAI PIZZACAT shifted out and collided into
SNOWBALL CREED, causing that greyhound to lose significant ground. Approaching the top turn, AZA ZEUS was
tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground. SAMURAI PIZZACAT, which was trailing,
collided into AZA ZEUS, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable
ground. Leaving the turn into the front
straight, SNOWBALL CREED was impeded and shifted out.
The
greyhound SAMURAI PIZZACAT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 4 – IPSWICH DERBY OPEN HEAT 1 – 520M
CORYKODI
was best to begin, HARA’S DAZZA was marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, GALWAY
JOHANN checked off heels and lost ground.
Shortly after, GALWAY JOHANN was impeded and lost momentum. Shortly after, HARA’S DAZZA checked off
heels, became unbalanced and lost ground.
Race 5 - IPSWICH DERBY OPEN HEAT 2 – 520M
HARA’S
SURF and DOUBLE SPUR were both best to begin.
Shortly after the start, KENATAY and RIO BRAVE bumped. Approaching the 1st turn, INFRARED
STAR checked off heels, shifted out and checked KENATAY, with both greyhounds
losing ground. Approaching the turn into
the back straight, NOT TOO BOSSY was impeded and checked off heels. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
DOUBLE SPUR shifted in, which impeded RIO BRAVE and then checked off
heels. At the top turn, DOUBLE SPUR
checked off heels and lost ground.
Race 6 - IPSWICH FUTURITY OPEN HEAT 1 – 520M
Best
to begin was CRAZY BELLA, RAZZIAI RAIN was slow. Approaching the 1st turn, JEMMA’S
MAGIC was tightened for racing room, shifted out and bumped REGAL EMERALD. RAZZIAI RAIN raced wide through the 1st
turn. Leaving the turn into the back
straight, JEMMA’S MAGIC checked off heels.
REGAL EMERALD, which was trailing, was impeded. Approaching the top turn, CLASSY CASSIE was
impeded and lost momentum.
Race 7 - IPSWICH FUTURITY OPEN HEAT 2 – 520M
NIKKI
NETTLE was best to begin. Approaching
the 1st turn SASSY OAKS and NIKKI NETTLE checked off heels and lost
ground. Shortly after, NIKKI NETTLE
improved onto the rear of BLUE TEXADA, causing both those greyhounds to lose
ground. REGAL JADE and LALLYBROCH raced
tight and bumped through the turn into the front straight. LOVE THE LOOK and GIVE IT SOME raced tight
and checked over the concluding stages of the race.
The
greyhound BLUE TEXADA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a
period of 10 days.
Race 8 - IPSWICH FUTURITY OPEN HEAT 3 – 520M
STOP THE IMAGE and
SLEEK STYLE were both best to begin.
DÉJÀ VU ROCK was marginally slow.
Approaching the 1st turn, POWER SERVICE shifted in and
checked with REGAL TOPAZ, causing POWER SERVICE to become unbalanced. STOP THE IMAGE, REGAL TOPAZ and RED HOT GOSSIP,
which were trailing, were all tightened for racing room. DÉJÀ VU ROCK, which was trailing those
greyhounds, was impeded and lost momentum.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, STOP THE IMAGE and REGAL
TOPAZ checked. Shortly after, STOP THE
IMAGE checked off heels and lost considerable ground.
The greyhound DÉJÀ VU
ROCK underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10
days.
Race 9 – TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS 5TH GRADE (1) –
431M
MAYWYN PROMISES was
best to begin, RINGBARK MASON was slow.
WILDASH SEMI, GALA SHOW and SMART WERINA all raced tight and checked in
the 1st turn. GALA SHOW and
SMART WERINA continued to race tight through the turn into the back
straight. Approaching the top turn, GALA
SHOW and SMART WERINA checked.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, WILDASH SEMI and KYLE THE
TANK bumped. MAYWYN PROMISES raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.
Race 10 – COFFEE AT RONI’S 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M
The greyhound REGAL
OPAL underwent a pre race veterinary examination and
no apparent injuries were found.
EL DOUBLE ONE was best
to begin, APOLLO’S WARRIOR was marginally slow.
Approaching the 1st turn, GITCHA HUMMIN’ shifted in and
checked into RAPID STATE and REGAL OPAL, causing both those greyhounds to
become severely unbalanced. Shortly
after, REGAL OPAL collided into APOLLO’S WARRIOR, with APOLLO’S WARRIOR coming
into contact with the running rail, and REGAL OPAL shifting out and colliding
heavily with RAPID STATE, resulting in RAPID STATE falling. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, WICKLA checked off heels and lost ground. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
LITTLE LUCK shifted wide. Approaching
the top turn, REGAL OPAL was impeded and lost momentum. In the turn into the front straight, LITTLE
LUCK and REGAL OPAL shifted wide.
The greyhound APOLLO’S
WARRIOR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.

were found.
