Race Reports

 

General:  Due to a power outage in the Ipswich district, no weights were recorded for any greyhounds at today’s race meeting.

 

Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn, RUSSIAN ROULETTE and WINX ROSE collided.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, LYNNY’S HONEY, RUSSIAN ROULETTE and WINX ROSE collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  In the front straight, during the latter stages of the race, CELTIC FEAR checked across heels and was momentarily hampered.     

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M

 

EYE HATE CAKE, BONITA DE KAHN, BIG MAN RUSTY and FANCY DREAM were all slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, FANCY DREAM and EYE HATE CAKE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, BONITA DE KAHN and FANCY DREAM collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, STRAIT RUM checked across heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound BONITA DE KAHN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FANCY DREAM underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE – 431M

 

SPRING RITCHIE was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn, ROSDUE GYPSY, MAYWYN’S NOMAD, ROSDUE BARISTA and ONE WHISPER were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, ROSDUE BARISTA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, ROSDUE GYPSY collided with ONE WHISPER, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.   Shortly after, ROSDUE BARISTA, which was trailing, collided heavily with ROSDUE GYPSY, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  MAYWYN’S NOMAD, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence.  Entering the front straight, SPRING RITCHIE checked across heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound ROSDUE GYPSY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM BEST 8 – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn, MAYWYN PROMISES and FARMOR IN TUNE collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after, PYRO BOB was tightened for racing room and checked, shifted out and collided with DAISY DREAMS, resulting in both greyhounds to lose ground.  MAYWYN PROMISES shifted out in the back straight, which hampered the running of PYRO BOB and DAISY DREAMS.  MAYWYN PROMISES raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight. 

 

Race 5 – CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 4/5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 431M

 

Shortly after the start, CAWBOURNE FAWNY, RED JUMPER and RICHMOND ROAD collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Through the 1st turn all greyhounds, with the exception of HEARTS TO HEARTS and SPRING COLLEEN collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees, with RICHMOND ROAD and LIGHTNING WHITE to be adversely affected.  Leaving the back straight, CAWBOURNE FAWNY shifted in and made contact with the running rail, and was checked as a consequence.  RED JUMPER and SAMURAI PIZZACAT, which were both trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound CAWBOURNE FAWNY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LIGHTNING WHITE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 4/5th GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn all greyhounds, with the exception of RED VEE, were tightened for racing room, checked to varying degrees, with WILDASH SEMI being mostly affected, and losing ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SISTER SHAZ was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, SHADES OF BLUE and SISTER SHAZ collide on a number of occasions.  In the front straight, during the latter stages of the race, SHADES OF BLUE and SISTER SHAZ collide. 

 

The greyhound WILDASH SEMI underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUNDS PHOTOS 4/5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn, and for some considerable distance, ROSDUE KOLA and STICKY STICKA collide on a number of occasions, resulting in STICKY STICKA to be checked and to lose ground in the back straight.  In the front straight, during the latter stages of the race, SPRING REINA checked across heels and was momentarily hampered. 

 

Race 8 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE FINAL– 431M

 

Shortly after the start, ROSDUE SHAKA and BONITTO collide.  Through the 1st turn, WILDASH TOM, ROSDUE SHAKA and BONITTO collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight, DREAM BIGGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BONITTO, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence.

 

Race 9 – GJ WALSH & CO 4/5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 431M

 

Through the 1st turn, ROSDUE KIRRA, STROGANOFF, BRASS ROA and NEVER A DOUBT were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, BRASS ROAD shifted in and made contact with the running rail. CHIPPIES raced wide round the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound BRASS ROAD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MA5 – 431M

 

Approaching the turn into the back straight, BRAVE ULYSSES was tightened for racing room and checked, fell as a consequence, and took no further competitive part in the race.  RUMBLIN’ JAKE, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, COSMIC REVENGE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound BRAVE ULYSSES underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound COSMIC REVENGE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
