Race 1 – ARCTIC ICE MAIDEN – 431M
BOYZ ONE was best to begin, EYE HATE CAKE was
very slow. Approaching the 1st
turn, ZABDON ZINGER and FIRE STATION raced tight and checked. BIG MAN RUSTY, which was trailing, was
impeded, checked off heels and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, POLLY’S GIFT was impeded,
became unbalanced and lost momentum.
Shortly after, AYE JOHNS and POLLY’S GIFT checked, causing POLLY’S GIFT
to lose ground. Leaving the turn into
the back straight, ZABDON ZINGER and FIRE STATION raced tight and checked,
causing FIRE STATION to become severely unbalanced and lose considerable
ground. Shortly after LOW IMPACT was
impeded and shifted out. Approaching the
top turn, ZABDON ZINGER and BIG MAN RUSTY raced tight and bumped. EYE HATE CAKE raced wide through the top
turn, and continued to race wide for the remainder of the race. Approaching the finish line, LOW IMPACT was
momentarily impeded.
The greyhound FIRE STATION underwent a post
race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 2 – WF CONTRACTING MAIDEN – 520M
MOLLY
MADNESS was best to begin, SONIC BOOM was marginally slow. In the 1st turn, WHAT A DIVA
shifted out and collided heavily with LAURASH ACTION, then checked shortly
after, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the back straight, WHAT
A DIVA shifted in, which impeded MARANOA MISS, with that greyhound checking off
heels and losing considerable ground.
Approaching the top turn, LAURASH ACTION shifted in and checked WHAT A
DIVA, causing WHAT A DIVA to lose ground.
Race 3 – JOHN STACEY ELECTRICAL NOVICE – 431M
CHROME
RUN was best to begin, EYE LIKE CAKE was marginally slow. In the 1st turn, KULU STING
shifted out and checked into FAKE NEWS, which in turn checked heavily into
RYAN’S ILLUSION, causing both those greyhounds to lose ground as a result. EYE LIKE CAKE and HARDLY NORMAL, which were
trailing, came together and checked shortly after. Leaving the turn into the back straight, EYE
LIKE CAKE shifted out wide. RYAN’S
ILLUSION was impeded as a result and lost momentum. Approaching the top turn, FAKE NEWS shifted
in which impeded HARDLY NORMAL, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.
Race 4 – SWITCH REALTY NOVICE – 520M
KANOJO
was best to begin. Immediately after the
start, EARLY SETTLER was tightened for racing room, then checked into ROAD SIDE
ASSIST, causing both those greyhounds to lose momentum. Approaching the turn into the back straight,
ROAD SIDE ASSIST shifted in, which impeded EARLY SETTLER, causing that
greyhound to lose momentum. Approaching
the top turn, EARLY SETTLER was tightened for racing room, checked off heels
and lost considerable ground. Leaving
the turn into the front straight, WERINA ROCKET and ROAD SIDE ASSIST checked,
causing WERINA ROCKET to become unbalanced and to lose ground.
The
greyhound EARLY SETTLER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 5 – KROPPS MECHANICAL 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M
STAR
RISE was best to begin, LEISURE SEEKER was slow. BROTHER TREVOR, PRATER’S RECRUIT and FARMOR
IN TUNE all raced tight into the 1st turn, with PRATER’S RECRUIT
being tightened for racing room and losing ground. LEISURE SEEKER, which was trailing, improved
onto the rear of PRATER’S RECRUIT and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
PRATER’S RECRUIT and SMART WERINA bumped.
Race 6 – K & R PLUMBING SUPPLIES 5PW – 520M
KYLE
THE TANK was clearly best to begin, PRATER’S ACE was marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, SHINE
ANNA came into contact with the running rail, and then collided heavily into NOT
TOO BOSSY, which then collided heavily into SKYLARK BROOKE, causing that
greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the race. NOT TOO BOSSY, which was trailing, was
severely inconvenienced and also fell, taking no further part in the race.
The
greyhound SHINE ANNA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound SKYLARK BROOKE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near side hind and was stood down for
a period of 10 days.
The
greyhound NOT TOO BOSSY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained and injury to the head (becoming dazed) and was stood
down for a period of 10 days.
Race 7 – UNBLOCK PLUMING & DRAINAGE MIXED 3/4TH
GRADE – 431M
AIM
was best to begin. Immediately after the
start, PEBBLE BAY, SAMURAI PIZZACAT, HAYZE PURPLE and BRIGHT SATELLITE raced
tight and checked. BLOZA shifted wide
through the turn into the back straight.
Race 8 – SWIFTS SPORTS CLUB MIXED 4/5TH GRADE –
520M
Prior to the commencement of Race 8, LALLYBROCH was a late
scratching under vet advice.
CRAZY BELLA was best to
begin. Shortly after the start, NO MORE
CAKE and SURFBOARD collided. In the 1st
turn, REGAL SAPPHIRE shifted out and checked into TOO GOOD JOOG, causing both
greyhounds to lose ground. NO MORE CAKE
raced wide in the home straight.
The
greyhound LALLYBROCH underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found
to have abraded skin (bleeding) and was stood down for a period of 3 days.
Race 9 – COURT PLUMBING & DRAINAGE 5TH GRADE
(2) – 431M
WILLY TOULA was best to
begin, ZABDON MCGREGOR and DOLLAR AND CENT were marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, EL
DOUBLE ONE, MAHONEY and FIVE GALLON HAT raced tight and checked. At the same time, EL DOUBLE ONE improved onto
the heels of PRATER’S PROMISE, causing all those greyhounds to lose ground. BIG HUEY and DOLLAR AND CENT, which were
racing to the outside of those greyhounds, were severely inconvenienced and
lost ground. Shortly after, MAHONEY
improved onto the rear of BIG HUEY, became severely unbalanced and lost
substantial ground as a result. MAHONEY
raced wide through the turn into the front straight.
The greyhound MAHONEY
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
Race 10 – ARCTIC ICE 5TH GRADE (3) – 431M
CLICK COWAN was
marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start, PRATER’S SAINT commenced to
yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter. In the 1st turn, MASTER DEAN
shifted out checking into SUPER CETTE, which then checked into MOSCOW MULE,
causing those greyhounds to lose momentum.
FARMOR SUSPENSE and LITTLE LUCK, which were racing to the outside, were
both inconvenienced and lost ground.
Shortly after SUPER CETTE and MOSCOW MULE collided, causing MOSCOW MULE
to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground. Approaching the top turn, MOSCOW MULE
improved onto the rear of SUPER CETTE, causing both greyhounds to become
unbalanced and lose considerable ground.
The
greyhound PRATER’S SAINT underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side back muscle and was stood
down for a period of 6 weeks.
