Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN – 288M

 

POPPYCOCK was best to begin, AYE JOHNS was marginally slow.   Approaching the top turn, POPPYCOCK shifted in which momentarily impeded BRAINS TRUST.   Approaching the 1st turn, LOW IMPACT shifted in with momentarily impeded AYE JOHNS, who commenced to yield ground shortly after.   BRAINS TRUST and MISSY ROSE raced tight and checked leaving the top turn.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, WHO WHAT WHERE was momentarily impeded and checked off heels.  LOW IMPACT, which was trailing, collided into WHO WHAT WHERE causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  MISSY ROSE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound BRAINS TRUST underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

The greyhound AYE JOHNS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off shoulder (foreleg) and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE – 288M

 

STEALTHY NIGHT and LUCKY LECKEY were both best to begin.  TIMELY RICKSHAW and AL’S IN TROUBLE were both marginally slow.  In the back straight, APACHE VILLA was impeded and lost momentum.  TIMELY RICKSHAW, which was trailing, was impeded behind APACHE VILLA and shifted in coming into contact with the running rail.  Immediately after, TIMELY RICKSHAW collided heavily into HAPPY MAIL and AL’S IN TROUBLE, which were both trailing, causing those greyhounds to all lose substantial ground.  In the top turn, RAPID EFFECT shifted in, causing POOR PAW, which was trailing, to check off heels and lose ground.  APACHE VILLA, which was trailing, was momentarily impeded and shifted wide.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, APACHE VILLA shifted in which impeded POOR PAW, causing that greyhound to stumble and become unbalanced. 

 

The greyhound TIMELY RICKSHAW underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HAPPY MAIL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound AL’S IN TROUBLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – SKY RACING 5TH GRADE (1) – 288M

 

LILLY PILLY LASS was slow to begin.  At the top turn, TREVOR TRICEPS shifted in, which impeded LET’S WIN BILLY, causing that greyhound to check off heels and lose considerable ground.  Shortly after, LET’S WIN BILLY checked with LILLY PILLY LASS, causing LET’S WIN BILLY to lose significant ground.  BROKE EVEN raced wide through the turn into the front straight.  BROKE EVEN and STOP AN’ PAWS checked leaving the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 4 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE (2) – 288M

 

RUBY REDNECK was best to begin, POINT SEVEN was marginally slow.  Approaching the top turn, BLACK SCORPION shifted in, which impeded KAWATI SON, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.  At the top turn, POINT SEVEN shifted in, which caused TOP VILLA to be tightened for racing room, check and lose ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, POINT SEVEN shifted out off heels, became unbalanced and collided into INDIAN RUBY.  At the same time, PINK AXLE shifted out and checked RUBY REDNECK. 

 

Race 5 – TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 5TH GRADE (3) – 288M

 

RAIN ALERT and ZABON CHARLIE were both best to begin, STICKY STICKA was marginally slow.  Approaching the top turn, TUNDRA STORM shifted in, causing ELUSIVE ARROW to be tightened for racing room and become unbalanced, losing ground as a consequence.  KICKER CREW, which was trailing, collided into ELUSIVE ARROW, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  STICKY STICKA, which was trailing those two greyhounds, collided into KICKER CREW and lost significant ground also.  Leaving the top turn, ZABDON CHARLIE checked off heels and lost ground.  EL DOUBLE ONE, which was trailing, was momentarily impeded.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, ELUSIVE ARROW was tightened for racing room, became unbalanced and lost momentum. 

 

Race 6 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 288M

 

FEAR NANCY was best to begin, HALL PASS and WILDASH SEMI were both marginally slow.  Approaching the top turn, HALL PASS and WILDASH SEMI raced tight and checked.  STAR RISE raced wide through the top turn.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, HALL PASS shifted wide, which severely impeded WILDASH SEMI, causing both those greyhounds to race very wide and lose substantial ground. 

 

The greyhound WILDASH SEMI underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – BUTCHER CO MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 288M

 

FOLLOW THE DUK and BARNEY BE GOOD were best to begin, ANGEL SHOW was slow.  Shortly after the start, PINK COLLISION shifted out which impeded ANGEL SHOW.  Approaching the top turn, REDNECK BANJO and BRAYSTONES BEACH collided, and became severely unbalanced, with both losing significant ground as a result.  PINK COLLISION, which was trailing, shifted wide and raced wide through the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound ANGEL SHOW underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 1/2ND GRADE – 288M

 

AIM and ELLY BYE BYE were best to begin, LID PINGER was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, CELEBRITY BABE shifted in, causing CASH FLOW JOE to be tightened for racing room, check and lose considerable ground.  Shortly after, TEE BE GOOD and CELEBRITY BABE checked, causing CELEBRITY BABE to become severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground.  CASH FLOW JOE, which was trailing, then checked into CELEBRITY BABE, causing both greyhounds to lose further ground. 

 

Race 9 – MALE TRAINER OF THE YEAR 2007 – COLIN BYERS MA5 (1) – 288M

 

SPANISH HARBOUR and VIKING BUDDY were both marginally slow.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SIRIUS STAR was impeded, shifted out and collided into SPANISH HARBOUR, which in turn collided with JIGGLE SPLAT, causing SPANISH HARBOUR and JIGGLE SPLAT to lose substantial ground as a consequence. 

 

Race 10 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MA5 (2) – 288M

 

PINK SUNSET was best to begin, MYONA ROSE was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, MYONA ROSE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Immediately after, FUNNY FELLOW and PARIS QUEEN collided and lost substantial ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, FUNNY FELLOW and PARIS QUEEN checked.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SWIFT HARBOUR shifted out and checked into WESTMEAD DAFFIE, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. 

 

The greyhound PINK SUNSET underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
