Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN – 431M
The start of this race was delayed when MISS GRASSCUTTER
proved difficult to box. MISS
GRASSCUTTER will be declared a hard-to-box greyhound in future race events.
MISS GRASSCUTTER and
MAYWYN’S XENA were both slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, IVY’S BOUQUET and GOTCHA GIFT collide. MAYWYN’S XENA, which was trailing, was
hampered as a consequence. Through the 1st
turn, MISS GRASSCUTTER was tightened for racing room, shifted out colliding
with GOTCHA GIFT, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose
ground. COCONUT LASS and GOTCHA GIFT
raced wide in the back straight. COCONUT
LASS raced wide in the front straight.
Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M
Shortly
after the start, BUD’S MILLAR and SONIC BOOM collide. BLUE JELLEM was slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, BOYZ ONE
and CAPTAIN BLUE collide. Through the 1st
turn, MAYWYN’S ZEPHYR, MEERKAT WARRIOR and BOYZ ONE all collide. BUD’S MILLAR, which was trailing, was checked
as a consequence and lost ground. SONIC
BOOM, which was trailing BUD’S MILLAR, was checked as a result of this incident
and lost ground. BLUE JELLEM commenced
to give ground in the back straight, finishing a considerable distance from the
remainder of the field. In the front
straight during the later stages of the race, MEERKAT WARRIOR turned its head
and made muzzle contact with MAYWYN’S ZEPHYR.
The
greyhound BLUE JELLIM underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down
for a period of 21 days.
Connection
to the greyhound MEERKAT WARRIOR was advised that the greyhound would be
charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound to be
stood down for a period of 28 days at Ipswich, and would be required to perform
a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.
Race 3 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE – 431M
Through
the 1st turn, BALLYMAC JAY and BROKEN YOLK collide, resulting in
both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. FIRE STATION, which was trailing, was checked
as a consequence and lost ground.
Entering the back straight, MY BOUQUET and FIRE STATION collide,
resulting in MY BOUQUET to be checked and to lose ground. Leaving the back straight, MY BOUQUET was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the front straight during the later stages
of the race, FIRE STATION turned its head inwards into the direction of RAPID
EFFECT, and failed to purse the lure with due commitment.
Connection
to the greyhound FIRE STATION was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 69A Failing to Pursue 1st Offence, with the greyhound to
be stood down for a period of 28 days at Ipswich, and would be required to
perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to
racing.

ALLEN
KELVIN was slow to begin. Shortly after
the start, COSMIC WANTS TOO and VIKING BUDDY collide. Entering the back straight, COSMIC WANTS TOO
was tightened for racing room, shifted out and collided with VIKING BUDDY,
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. RUMBLING JAKE, which was trailing, was
momentarily hampered as a result of this incident. In the back straight, RUMLING JAKE and COSMIC
WANTS TOO collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose
ground. Leaving the back straight,
JIMARY MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. BUTTON PUSHER, which was trailing, was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
The
greyhound VIKING BUDDY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 5 – CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE HEAT 1 – 431M
SPRING
RUSSELL was slow to begin. Shortly after
the start, SASSY OAKS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Through the 1st turn,
VAQUERO and SPRING ANGEL collide.
Rounding the turn into the back straight, ZIPPING CLARK shifted out, checked
the running of SANTA CLAWS, resulting in that greyhound to be check and lose
ground. Shortly after, SANTA CLAWS
became unbalanced and lost ground.

GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M
Rounding
the turn into the back straight, SPRING REINA was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Rounding the
turn out of the back straight, SPRING REINA and PIRATA were both tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Shortly after, OPPORTUNE KNOCKA was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Rounding the turn into
the front straight, PIRATA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground.
Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUNDS PHOTOS 5TH GRADE FINAL
– 431M
Rounding
the turn into the back straight, MAHONEY and WIGGLE WABBLE bumped, resulting in
WIGGLE WABBLE to shift out, which hampered the running of TOP VILLA, resulting
in that greyhound to be checked and to lose ground. REGAL RECALL raced wide round the turn into
the front straight.

Through the 1st
turn, LITTLE ACH CEE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Entering the back straight, FOXY
BE GOOD shifted out which hampered the running of JETTA KNIGHT and DAISY
DREAMS. Shortly after, LITTLE ACH CEE
improved onto the heels of FOXY BE GOOD, resulting in both greyhounds to be
momentarily hampered. Rounding the turn
out of the back straight, FOXY BE GOOD was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground.
The greyhound ALL ABOUT
TIGER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10
days.
Race 9 – GJ WALSH & CO MIXED 4/5TH GRADE
HEAT 3 – 431M
SENOR’S HEIR shifted
out shortly after the start, which hampered the running of TUNDRA STORM. Entering the back straight, SPRING IVAN
checked across heels and lost ground.
Leaving the back straight, SENOR’S HEIR was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. SPRING
FESTIVAL, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost
ground.

JIMARY FREE slipped on
the mat shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. Through the 1st turn, MASTER
BULLET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. SPRING RUBY, which was trailing, was checked
as a consequence and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, GOLD GRACE and RAZZIAI
RAIN bump, which momentarily hampered RAZZIAI RAIN.
