Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN – 431M
TRY
THIS ON was slow to begin. Leaving the
back straight, CYNTHIA JOY eased and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight,
CYNTHIA JOY turned its head and marred the running of ELUSIVE FANCY, resulting
in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. In the front straight, CYNTHIA JOY turned its
head and marred the running of RINGBARK WYATT, resulting in both greyhounds to
be checked and to lose ground. COCONUT
LASS, raced wide in the back straight, and again in the front straight.
The
greyhound TRY THIS ON underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Connection
to the greyhound CYNTHIA JOY was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, and would be stood down from
racing at Ipswich for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a
satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

Through
the 1st turn, all greyhounds, with the exception of GODDESS MACHA,
were subject to tight racing, resulting in NO CONFIDENCE, CHROME RUN, KENNY
SAID WHAT, CAN DELIGHT and LET’ WIN BILLY all losing ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, NO CONFIDENCE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Shortly after, RINGBARK AMY and
GODDESS MACHA collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and
lose considerable ground.
Race 3 – SKY RACING 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M
Shortly
after the start, LOGAN’S RUN and GOOD GOLLY OLLY collide. Through the 1st turn, all
greyhounds, with the exception of RAPID STATE, were subject to tight racing and
lost ground, with OBLIVINATOR being most affected. Entering the back straight, BIG HUEY improved
onto the heels VIKING WHITE, resulting in that greyhound to shift out and
collide with GOOD GOLLY OLLY. Leaving
the back straight, OBLIVINATOR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground.
Race 4 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 5TH GRADE (2) –
431M
Shortly
after the start, RINGBARK MASON and SASSY OAKS bumped. Entering the back straight, VIKING BUDDY was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. MR. BELVEDERE, which was trailing, was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, HONEY TRAP and SPECIAL
COVER collide.
The
greyhound VIKING BUDDY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down
for a period of 7 days.
Stewards’
questioned trainer, Mr G Bowe, in regards to the concerns of the greyhound
SPECIAL COVER upon entering the front straight.
After considering all available evidence, SPECIAL COVER was given the
benefit of the doubt as to whether it had breached any rule.

NOT
TOO BOSSY was slow to begin. Leaving the
front straight, ALPHA RHEA, ROUGH ODDS, ALLPA MAMA and ROAR BACK were all
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight,
ALPHA RHEA and ROUGH ODDS collide, resulting in ROUGH ODDS to be checked and
lose ground. Entering the back straight,
ALLPA MAMA and ROAR BACK collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked
and to lose ground. Leaving the back
straight, ROUGH ODDS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Race 6 – GJ WALSH & CO MIXED 4/5TH GRADE –
520M
STEALTH
KARMAR slipped on the mat shortly after the start, and lost ground. REACTOR raced wide round the turn into the
front straight.
The
greyhound PRATER’ ACE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a
period of 10 days.

GRADE – 431M
NASH
TATO was slow to begin. Shortly after
the start, PROPER GENT and CAWBOURNE BIGRED collide. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
NOOREE DESSA checked across heels.
Race 8 – OWNER OF THE YEAR 2010 – TEAMPLAY SYN 5TH
GRADE FINAL – 520M
BROTHER TREVOR was slow
to begin. Shortly after the start, IT’S
A KISS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight,
MAYWYN PROMISES was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. BRIGHTEST STAR, which was checked as a
consequence and lost ground. Leaving the
back straight, MAYWYN REWARDS and PRATER’S RECRUIT were both tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.

– 288M
Rounding the turn out
of the back straight, TAZI BE GOOD was tightened for racing room, checked and
fell. GUNLEE ROCKER, which was trailing,
was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Shortly after, FROSTY SKY was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn into the front straight, FROSTY SKY and PROPER TOFF
collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. BRASS ROAD, which was trailing, was checked
as a consequence and lost ground.
The greyhound TAZI BE
GOOD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
Race 10 – FEMALE TRAINER OF THE YEAR 2010 – RACHEL SCOTT 5TH
GRADE (2) – 288M
Leaving the back straight,
MALUTKI, FOLLOW THE DUK, KIA BE GOOD were all tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. VELOCITY LINDER
and GALA SHOW, which were racing to their outside, were checked as a
consequence and lost ground.
