Race Report

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN – 431M

CENTIGRAM was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, RINGBARK WYATT collided with BLUE JAY JAY resulting in that greyhound to shift out and collided with WY YUNG FLOODS, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. IVY’S BOUQUET, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Through the 1^st turn, ELUSIVE FANCY and RINGBARK WYATT collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. At the same time, BLUE JAY JAY and WY YUNG FLOODS collide, resulting in WY YUNG FLOODS to be checked and to lose ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight, CENTIGRAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground, shifted out and collided with BLUE JAY JAY, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Entering the back straight, BOYZ ONE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

The greyhound BOYZ ONE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

BRASS ROAD was slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the front straight, LUCKY LECKEY and SWEET TALKING collide. Entering the front straight, DO YOU REMEMBER and LUCKY LECKEY collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. SWEET TALKING, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

Race 3 – KAYPAT LODGE NOVICE – 520M

Shortly after the start, MIA’S KARMAR and VALDA THE VIKING collide. Entering the front straight, MIA’S KARMAR turned its head and marred the running of COLOR PURPLE on a number of occasions, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

Connection to the greyhound, MIA’S KARMAR, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (2)(b) Marring 2^nd offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 3 months, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 520m, prior to racing.

Through the 1^st turn, CHARLIES BARBUN and CHANCE ME BRO collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. HAVANA BLACK, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight, TIGHT CIRCLE and RINGBARK AMY collide, resulting in RINGBARK AMY to be checked and to lose ground. BALLYMAC JAY, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and raced wide.

Race 5 – GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5^TH GRADE – 431M

Through the 1^st turn, SASSY OAKS and EMPIRE REIGN collide. Leaving the back straight, SASSY OAKS and BULLSEYE DOUBT collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight, EMPIRE REIGN and LET’S WIN BILLY collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

Race 6 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 4/5^TH GRADE – 288M

Through the 1^st turn, BIG HUEY collided with GOOD GOLLY OLLY, which in turn shifted out and collided with MOOSE MAN, which then shifted out and collided with LARRIKAN LASS, resulting in LARRIKAN LASS to be checked and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight, MOOSE MAN checked across heels and lost ground.

Race 7 – OWNER OF THE YEAR 2011 – ROBERT ESSEX 5^TH GRADE – 520M

Shortly after the start, PAWFECTION was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight, KYLE THE TANK, RED JUMPER, NOT TOO BOSSY, PAWFECTION, ONE WHISPER and CHIPPIES all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees, with ONE WHISPER losing considerable ground.

The greyhound ONE WHISPER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 8 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 4/5^TH GRADE – 288M

Shortly after the start, ALLEN KELVIN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the front straight, ALLEN KELVIN and ROI LEAR KAHN collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

The greyhound ALLEN KELVIN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Race 9 – SKY RACING MIXED 4/5^TH GRADE – 288M

RACK TAP RACK commenced to give ground round the turn out of the back straight. DESTINI PEGASUS raced wide round the turn into the front straight.

The greyhound RACK TAP RACK underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Race 10 - ACCELL THERAPY 5^TH GRADE – 288M

Rounding the turn out of the back straight, SNOW GIRL, SPUDTASTIC, WAIKARIE SYLVIE, KIA BE GOOD and HYPO SHOW, were all tightened for racing room, checked to varying degrees.
