Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN – 431M

 

Approaching the 1st turn, ELUSIVE FANCY and HAIGSLEA FLYER bump on a number of occasions.  Through the 1st turn, DYNA ALITA and TRY THIS ON collide.  Entering the back straight, TRY THIS ON turned its head and made muzzle contact with JETT MAN, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, TRY THIS ON turned its head and made muzzle contact with DYNA ALITA, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked.  JETT MAN, which was racing to its outside, was severely checked as a result of this incident. 

 

Connection to the greyhound, TRY THIS ON, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE – 288M

 

MY BOUQUET and WALLOON MOO were both slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, MISS MILKY BAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, VINAKA OSCAR shifted out, which hampered the running of MISS MILKY BAR.  Entering the front straight, WALLOON MOO checked across heels, shifted out and collided with MISS MILKY BAR, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. 

 

Race 3 – SKY RACING NOVICE – 431M

 

MADAM KARMAR was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, BALLYMAC JAY, FIRE FLY RODGER, FIRE FLY SMURF and OH SHE GLOWS all collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, BALLYMAC JAY was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with FIRE FLY SMURF, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  OH SHE GLOWS, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  BLACK KOALA, which was racing to the outside of that greyhound, was severely checked and fell, and took no further competitive part in the race.  Leaving the back straight, FIRE FLY RODGER, FIRE FLY SMURF and MADAM KARMAR all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound BLACK KOALA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – MALE TRAINER OF YEAR 2011 – COLIN BYERS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 431M

 

ZIPPING CLARK was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, CAPTAIN TIL was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with SMART WERINA, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, CAPTAIN TIL and SMART WERINA were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 5 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

Shortly after the start, OUTBACK MADRAKE and PRATER’S ACE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, PAWFECTION and OUTBACK MANDRAKE collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, PAWFECTION and OUTBACK MANDRAKE collide.

 

Race 6 - CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2– 520M

 

Rounding the turn out of the front straight, MAYWYN PROMISES was tightened for racing room, shifted out, which hampered the running of REACTOR.  Leaving the back straight, RED VEE commenced to give ground to finish a distance behind the remainder of the field.  NOT TOO BOSSY raced wide round the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound RED VEE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to be suffering from cramping, and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 7 - CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 3– 520M

 

Shortly after the start, DOUBLE SPUR, OXLEY ONE and MAYWYN REWARDS were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, and for a considerable distance, DOUBLE SPUR and OXLEY ONE bump.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, DOUBLE SPUR and OXLEY ONE collide, resulting in OXLEY ONE to shift out and check the running of SUPER CESC, resulting in that greyhound to be severely checked and fall.  DARBY’S GIRL, which was racing to its outside, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. 

 

The greyhound DARBY’S GIRL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SUPER CESC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 - CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 520M

 

RED JUMPER was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, PRATER’S RECRUIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, CLASSY CASSIE and RINGBARK BELLA collide, resulting in RINGBARK BELLA to be checked and to lose ground.  ONE WHISPER and PRATER’S RECRUIT, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the back straight, HOT EMBER shifted out and hampered the running of CLASSY CASSIE. In the front straight during the run to the finish, PRATER’S RECRUIT and RINGBARK BELLA collide.

 

Race 9 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE – 431M

 

IMPATIENT KID was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, BULLET PASS, LET’S WIN BILLY, DOREAS and REGAL JADE all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, NIGHT TIME LOVER, EMPIRE REIGN and IMPATIENT KID raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight, BULLET PASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 10 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE – 288M

 

DANYO’S LOZZA was slow to begin.  Leaving the back straight, INQUISITIVE ME, SIRIUS STAR, FABTHOR and ELEGANT DUK were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
