Race Reports

 

Race 1 – TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS MAIDEN – 431M

 

HAIGSLEA FLYER was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, MITCHELL JOHN and RINGBARK WYATT bumped.  Entering the back straight, MITCHELL JOHN clipped heels.  Leaving the top turn, MITCHELL JOHN and IVY’S BOUQUET collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the back straight, and front straight, SHAKEY PISTOL turned its head outwards but did not make muzzle contact.  In the front straight, HAIGSLEA FLYER and SHAKEY PISTOL raced wide. 

 

The greyhound MITCHELL JOHN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SHAKEY PISTOL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Connection to the greyhound, SHAKEY PISTOL, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69B Failing to pursue with injury, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 21 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – WHITE ROSE BOARDING KENNELS NOVICE – 431M

 

LUCKEY LECKY and COMBAL ZERO were best to begin.  In the 1st turn, ELUSIVE FANCY, FIRE FLY SMURF, MADAM KARMAR and CHROME RUN, all raced tight.   Entering the back straight, COMBAL ZERO clipped heels, fell, and gave no further competitive part in the race, causing COLOR PURPLE to be checked and lose ground.  In the front straight, MADAM KARMAR clipped heels.

 

The greyhound COMBAL ZERO underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 3 – ADVENTURE TOURISM AUSTRALIA 5TH GRADE – 431M

 

LET’S WIN BILLY and HONEY’S PRINCESS was best to begin, with BOGAN LEGEND marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, PEBBLE BAY shifted out and checked DOLCETTO HAYZE.  In the back straight, HONEY’S PRINCESS clipped the heels of STRUDEL, causing HONEY’S PRINCESS to lose ground.  Rounding the top turn HONEY’S PRINCESS clipped the heels of DOLCETTO HAYZE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the front straight, LET’S WIN BILLY turned its head outwards to PEBBLE BAY, but did not make muzzle contact. 

 

The greyhound DOLCETTO HAYZE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LET’S WIN BILLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Connection to the greyhound, LET’S WIN BILLY, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69A Failing to pursue 1st offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.

 

Race 4 – GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON BEST 8 – 431M

 

DAY TIME FRIEND was best to begin, with TUBBY TURNER marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, STUEY and REGAL WAZ collided.  In the 1st turn, DOUBLE OAK, STUEY and NEVER A DOUBT collided, causing STUEY and NEVER A DOUBT to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, DAY TIME FRIEND was tightened for racing room.  In the back straight, REGAL WAZ clipped the heels of DAY TIME FRIEND, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

The greyhound DAY TIME FRIEND underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 431M

 

KYLE THE TANK was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, VELOCITY LINDER and SENOR’S HEIR bumped. Entering the back straight, VELOCITY LINDER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the back straight, RINGBARK MASON raced wide. 

 

Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr Peter Sullivan, about the performance of the greyhound where he stated that the greyhound jumped well and didn’t get any racing interference.  Mr Sullivan further stated that he supported the greyhound.

 

Race 6 – GJ WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Even start, with NOT TOO BOSSY marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, POLLY’S GIFT was tightened for racing room and hampered.  In the 1st turn, EMPIRE REIGN and NOT TOO BOSSY collided, causing PRATER’S ACE to be checked.  In the back straight, RUN WITH FAITH shifted in colliding with NOT TOO BOSSY, causing EMPIRE REIGN to be checked.

 

Race 7 – BEENLEIGH LEGAL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Even start, with TOPAZ TAN marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, SURFBOARD, SUPER CESC and STROGANOFF all raced tight.  In the 1st turn, SAIL SURFER collided with the running rail, shifted out and lost ground.  SURFBOARD was checked as a result and lost ground.  In the top turn, SUPER CESC clipped heels and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, AVA SURPRISE shifted out and raced wide.

 

The greyhound SAIL SURER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SURFBOARD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

 

IZY MAGIC was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, OXLEY ONE and HARA’S DAZZA bumped.  Approaching the 1st turn, REGAL RECALL and EXPONENTIAL bumped.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, REGAL RECALL and BRANDI ALEXANDER collided.  In the back straight, REACTOR raced wide. 

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND GEAR MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 288M

 

ELLY BYE BYE was best to begin, with FAB THOR slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, all greyhounds, with the exception of ON TIGHT LINES, raced tight and bumped, and lost ground at differing degrees.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, HYPO SHOW clipped heels.  In the front straight, FAB THOR and PINK SUNSET bumped on numerous occasions.

VINAKA OSCAR was best to begin, with CHARLIE’S BARBUN marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, VINAKA OSCAR commenced to give ground, causing SPUDTASTIC to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, ELOISE shifted out, clipped heels and lost ground.  In the front straight, BELVEDERE BABE, CATCH ME KEITH and ELOISE raced wide. 

 

The greyhound VINAKA OSCAR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side back and was stood down for a period of 8 weeks.
