Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN 431m
LOU LOU BEACH and SPRING PHOENIX were best to
begin. Approaching the 1st
turn, KNOCK ON EFFECT checked into JEFFREYS BAY, which in turn, checked into
LADYLIKE GRACE causing those greyhounds to lose ground. In the 1st turn, JEFFREYS BAY
stumbled and lost ground. LADYLIKE
GRACE, which was trailing, collided heavily into JEFFREYS BAY, became
unbalanced and lost considerable ground as a result. IVY’S BOUQUET, which was racing to the
outside of LADYLIKE GRACE, was inconvenienced and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
TECHNO’S GLORY commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part
in the race. Approaching the top turn,
SPRING PHOENIX shifted in, which severely inconvenienced CENTIGRAM, which was racing to its inside, causing that
greyhound to check off heels, become unbalanced and lose substantial ground as
a consequence. In the turn into the
front straight, IVY’S BOUQUET shifted in and collided heavily with JEFFREYS
BAY, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose momentum. JEFFREYS BAY shifted out over the concluding
stages of the race. Approaching the
finish line, SPRING PHOENIX deviated its attention towards the greyhound racing
to its outside, shifted out and made muzzle contact with that greyhound,
causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose ground.
The greyhound TECHNO’S GLORY underwent a post race veterinary examination
and was found to have sustained an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood
down for a period of 10 days.
Connection to the greyhound, SPRING PHOENIX, was advised that the
greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st offence, with
the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days and required to perform
a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, prior to racing.
Race 2 – SKY RACING
NOVICE – 431M
ELLIE
GRACE was best to begin, FIREFLY SMURF was very slow. At the 1st turn, MISS MILKY BAR,
MADAM KARMAR and ELLIE GRACE all raced tight and checked. Shortly after, FABIO MARSHA and MADAM KARMAR
checked off heels and both lost substantial ground. DENNY BLUE, which was trailing, was severely
inconvenienced and also lost substantial ground. At the top turn, MADAM KARMAR and DENNY BLUE
raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. At the turn
into the front straight, MADAM KARMAR and DENNY BLUE checked, causing both
greyhounds to lose momentum.

MISS GRASSCUTTER was
best to begin. At the 1st
turn, GALWAY WOLFGANG, AL’S IN TROUBLE, GALWAY LUDWIG and COST A PENNY raced
tight and checked, causing AL’S IN TROUBLE to stumble and lose ground. Shortly after, BROKEN YOLK and ZAFONIC SPIRIT
collided, with both greyhounds losing ground as a result. Approaching the top turn, GALWAY LUDWIG
shifted in, which caused GALWAY WOLFGANG to be tightened for racing room, check
off heels and lose substantial ground.
Shortly after, ZAFONIC SPIRIT, which was trailing, collided heavily into
the rear of GALWAY WOLFGANG, causing both those greyhounds to lose substantial
ground. Leaving the turn into the front
straight, GALWAY WOLFGANG and ZAFONIC SPIRIT collided once again, with both
greyhounds losing further ground.
Approaching the finish line, GALWAY WOLFGANG was impeded and lost
momentum.
The greyhound GALWAY
WOLFGANG underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 4 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M
FARMOR
KA CHING and SUPER CETTE were best to begin, RAPID MAIL was marginally
slow. In the 1st turn, COUNT
WERINA, DOREAS and SPRING RUBY all raced tight and checked, causing all
greyhounds to lose ground. RAPID MAIL
raced wide through the turn out of the back straight, and continued to race
wide for the remainder of the race.
Race 5 – BEENLEIGH LEGAL MIXED 3/4TH GRADE –
431M
GET
SHORTY and HONEY’S PRINCESS were best to begin.
At the 1st turn, LA BAMBA and REACTOR checked, causing LA
BAMBA to lose ground, and REACTOR to become severely unbalanced and lose
significant ground. At the top turn,
DOUBLE OAK and GET SHORTY raced tight and checked, causing GET SHORTY to become
severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground. Leaving the top turn, NIGHT TIME LOVER
improved onto the rear of GET SHORTY, causing both greyhounds to stumble and
lose significant ground. At the same
time, DAY TIME FRIEND checked off heels and also lost significant ground.
The greyhound GET SHORTY underwent a post race veterinary examination and
no apparent injuries were found.
The greyhound NIGHT TIME LOVER underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 6 – IPSWICH SPRING HEAT 1 OPEN – 431M
STUEY was best to
begin, IMPATIENT KID and CORYKODI were marginally slow. In the 1st turn, AIM and VAQUERO
raced tight and bumped. VAQUERO raced
wide through the turn into the front straight.
The
greyhound STUEY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period
of 10 days.
Race 7 – IPSWICH SPRING HEAT 2 OPEN – 431M
MAGIC CODE was best to
begin, RED COAT was slow. Shortly after
the start, IT’S DYLLAN shifted in and collided heavily
with WHITE EAGLE, causing WHITE EAGLE to become unbalanced and to lose
considerable ground. At the 1st
turn, SHE’S A SORT, MAGIC CODE and GO LASSIE GO all raced tight and checked,
causing all those greyhounds to lose momentum.
Shortly after, TAYLOR MAID shifted out and collided heavily into IT’S DYLLAN, which then collided into RED COAT, causing IT’S
DYLLAN and RED COAT to lose considerable ground. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
WHITE EAGLE improved on to the rear of TAYLOR MAID, causing both those
greyhounds to lose momentum. COCONUT
LASS raced extremely wide through the turn into the back straight, and remained
wide for the remainder of the race. In
the back straight, IT’S DYLLAN shifted in, causing
TAYLOR MAID to check off heels and lose ground.
Race 8 – IPSWICH SPRING HEAT 3 OPEN – 431M
LOBCHA was best to
begin. Approaching the 1st
turn, PROPER GENT and BIKINI CLOUD raced tight and checked. Shortly after, PROPER GENT was tightened for
racing room, severely checked and fell, taking no further competitive part in
the race. I’VE GOT CENTS, which was
trailing, sustained minor inconvenience as a
result. At the top turn, BIKINI
CLOUD shifted inwards and tightened the racing room of JETTA KNIGHT, causing
that greyhound to check off heels and lose ground.
The greyhound PROPER
GENT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
Race 9 – GREYHOUND GEAR 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M
FARMOR IN TIME was best
to begin, AL BRUTON and CHIPPIES were slow.
At the 1st turn, WATCH ME WIGGLE, JUNK YARD KYLIE and MALUTKI
raced tight and checked. Shortly after,
AL BRUTON improved onto WATCH ME WIGGLE, causing that greyhound to become
severely unbalanced and lose substantial ground. At the same time, MALUTKI shifted out
checking heavily with POWER SERVICE, which was trailing, and then shortly
after, CHIPPIES collided into MALUTKI, causing all greyhounds mentioned to lose
ground. Approaching the top turn, AL
BRUTON checked off heels and lost ground.
Race 10 – MALE TRAINER OF YEAR 2012 – COLIN BYERS – MIXED
4/5TH GRADE – 288M
FARMOR ON FIRE was best
to begin, SPUDTASTIC was slow. Approaching the 1st turn KIM OSTI
checked off heels then collided into HAPPY MAIL, causing HAPPY MAIL to lose
substantial ground. SPUDTASTIC which was trailing was severely inconvenienced
and lost significant ground as a consequence. In the front straight FARMOR HEAT
shifted in which momentarily impeded BERGARI, causing BERGARI to lose momentum.
