Race Reports
Prior to commencement of Race 1, all races were put back 2
races due to lightning activity in the area.
Race 1 - GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MAIDEN - 431m
HAIGSLEA FLYER and FULL
IMPACT were best to begin, ANGRY ANGUS and BLUE JILLEM were marginally
slow. Approaching the 1st
turn, BLUE JILLEM and MITCHELL JOHN checked, causing MITCHELL JOHN to lose
considerable ground. In the 1st
turn, ANGRY ANGUS, BOYZ ONE and HARA’S SHADOW raced tight and checked, with all
losing significant ground as a result.
Approaching the top turn, BLUE JILLEM checked off heels and lost ground. Shortly after, BOYZ ONE checked off heels and
lost momentum. HARA’S SHADOW raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.

REDNECK
BANJO was best to begin. In the 1st
turn, KULU RUBY and THANKING PETER raced tight and bumped. Approaching the top turn, RINGBARK MASON was
tightened for racing room and lost ground.
Shortly after, CAPTAIN TIL shifted inwards and impeded KULU RUBY,
causing that greyhound to momentum. In the
front straight, CAPTAIN TIL was impeded, checked off heels and lost
momentum. ELLY BYE BYE
and CAPTAIN TIL raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.
Race 3 – SKY RACING GRADE 5 - 520m
PAWFECTION and HARA’S
FLAME were best to begin. Shortly after
the start, DARBY’S GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Approaching the 1st
turn, RAZZIAI RAIN was impeded, shifted out and raced wide through the 1st
turn. In the 1st turn, OXLEY
ONE shifted in and collided heavily into IT’S A KISS,
causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
OXLEY ONE improved onto the rear, then collided heavily with PAWFECTION,
causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. DARBY’S GIRL raced wide through the turn into
the front straight, and continued wide for the remainder of the race.
Race 4 – IPSWICH CUP IPS 520 (G3) HEAT 1 OPEN - 520m
SOFT SAND was best to
begin, BAD NEIGHBOUR began awkwardly and as a result began slowly. Shortly
after the start, SOUTHERN RIPPLE and JURY raced tight and bumped on multiple
occasions. Approaching the 1st
turn, BAD NEIGHBOUR was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost
considerable ground. SOUTHERN RIPPLE and
JURY, which were trailing, were inconvenienced and also lost ground. Approaching the top turn, MAN OF LEISURE
shifted in, which impeded the running of BAD NEIGHBOUR which checked off heels
and lost ground. LOCH FREDDIE, which was
trailing, was inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. Leaving the 1st turn, BAD
NEIGHBOUR was impeded further and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the front straight, MAN
OF LEISURE and SOUTHERN RIPPLE checked, causing both greyhounds to lose
considerable ground.
Approaching the 1st
turn, SOUTHERN RIPPLE and JURY raced tight and bumped on multiple occasions.
The greyhound BAD
NEIGHBOUR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 5 – IPSWICH CUP IPS 520 (G3) HEAT 2 OPEN - 520m
MOTTZA began awkwardly and was slow. Approaching the 1st turn, KALANI
KARL was impeded and lost momentum.
REGAL RECALL raced wide through the 1st turn. Approaching the turn into the back straight,
KULU TURKEY checked off heels and lost significant ground
After
the completion of Race 5, Stewards spoke to Licenced trainer Steven Scott in
relation to the performance of his greyhound MOTTZA. Mr Scott stated that in
his opinion the greyhound performs better when leading and as a consequence of
its poor start, its chances were diminished. Mr Scott further stated that the
rain may also have played a part in the greyhounds’ performance.
The
greyhound MOTTZA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found.
Race 6 – IPSWICH CUP IPS 520 (G3) HEAT 3 OPEN - 520m
PAINTED PICTURE and
NIKKI NETTLE were best to begin. RIO
BRAVE and ARDEN STREET, were both marginally slow. At the 1st turn, RIO BRAVE and
NIKKI NETTLE raced tight and checked.
Approaching the top turn, SHE’S SOME GAL was tightened for racing room
and lost momentum. Approaching the turn
into the front straight, ARDEN STREET shifted in which impeded SHE’S SOME GAL,
causing that greyhound to shift out and lose momentum. PAINTED PICTURE and RIO BRAVE raced tight
over the concluding stages of the race.
Race 7 – IPSWICH CUP IPS 520 (G3) HEAT 4 OPEN - 520m
FAB FIT was best to
begin, BIG BAD BOB began awkwardly and as a result, was marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, BIG BAD
BOB was impeded, shifted out and collided into SNOWBALL OTTO, causing those
greyhounds to lose considerable ground.
Leaving the 1st turn, RED HOT SPUR checked off heels and lost
ground. FEMME FOLLE raced wide through
the turn into the back straight. Leaving
the turn into the front straight, KULU HIPSTER shifted in, which momentarily
impeded BIG BAD BOB.
Race 8 – IPSWICH CUP IPS 520 (G3) HEAT 5 OPEN - 520m
THAT
HOUDINI was slow to begin. Approaching
the 1st turn, GEORGIE MAC was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. BRANDI ALEXANDER, which was
trailing, was severely inconvenienced and come into contact with the rail,
losing significant ground as a result.
Shortly after, ROCKFORD checked off the heels of SHOT CLOCK, became
severely unbalanced and lost considerable ground. ALPHA ULYSSES, which was trailing, collided
into ROCKFORD, with both those greyhounds losing further ground. GEORGIE MAC shifted out and bumped with THAT
HOUDINI on a number of occasions through the 1st turn, causing both
greyhounds to lose momentum. In the back
straight, SHOT CLOCK commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive
part in the race thereafter. BRANDI ALEXANDER,
which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
ROCKFORD shifted in and came into contact with the running rail and lost
significant ground as a consequence.
The
greyhound ROCKFORD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found.
The
greyhound SHOT CLOCK underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found
to have sustained an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood down for a
period of 21 days.
The
greyhound BRANDI ALEXANDER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near fore foot and was stood down for
a period of 10 days.

VELOCITY LINDER was
best to begin, BRASS ROAD was marginally slow.
Leaving the 1st turn, GOOD GOLLY OLLY collided into ARFA SHOW
OFF, checked off heels and lost significant ground. Immediately after, GOOD GOLLY OLLY collided
into KULU STING, which was trailing, causing both greyhounds to lose
substantial ground. Approaching the turn
into the back straight, SURGENIE was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost considerable ground. Leaving the
turn into the front straight, VELOCITY LINDER shifted out and bumped
SURGENIE.
Race 10 – SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 - 288m
CRUMBED
CUTLETS was marginally slow to begin. At
the 1st turn, BELVEDERE BABE checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
EBONY SANDS and DANYO’S LOZZA collided, causing both greyhounds to lose
ground. BELVEDERE BABE raced wide
through the turn into the front straight, and remained wide for the remainder
of the race.
