Race Reports
Race 1 – SKY RACING | MAIDEN | 431 M
MITCHELL JOHN and WOO WOP DROP were best to begin. JUST FOR JAKE was slow. Leaving the first turn LADYLIKE GRACE and JUST FOR JAKE checked, causing LADYLIKE GRACE to lose ground. Approaching the top turn MITCHELL JOHN and WOO WOP DROP raced tight and checked on multiple occasions, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. Leaving the top turn JUST FOR JAKE improved on the heels of SPUR ON which then shifted out and checked into BLUE THUNDER BUD, causing all three greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight SPUR ON and LADYLIKE GRACE raced tight and checked, with both losing ground as a result.
Race 2 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | NOVICE | 431 M
SHIELD ME was marginally slow. Approaching the turn into the back straight WILD MAN shifted out and collided heavily into LIGHT THE BARBIE, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. FAKE NEWS and WHATTA STORM which were both trailing were severely inconvenienced and also lost significant ground.
Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | NOVICE | 520 M
SHAKE AN’SHOW and BROKEN YOLK were both best to begin, STRAIT RUM was slow. Approaching the first turn STRAIT RUM improved onto the heels of CHERRY WINE causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose ground. At the same time BROKEN YOLK shifted in which impeded PASSING NOVA, causing that greyhound to lose momentum. In the first turn COOL HAND GUS stumbled and then checked into SHAKE AN ‘SHOW and lost ground as a result. Leaving the first turn STRAIT RUM and CHERRY WINE checked, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. Leaving the turn into the back straight, COOL HAND GUS checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the top turn CHERRY WINE was impeded and lost momentum.
Race 4 – DOVER & SONS | 5th GRADE | 431 M
BONNIE CHANCE was best to begin. CLICK COWAN was slow. Leaving the first turn BULLSEYE DOUBT collided heavily into HARA’S HORNET, became severely unbalanced and lost ground. MJOLINER which was trialing collided heavily into BULLSEYE DOUBT causing BULLSEYE DOUBT to fall and take no further part in the race there after and causing MYOLINER to lose substantial ground. TICTAC CLOUD which was trialing was also inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. Approaching the top turn CLICK COWAN shifted in sharply which impeded BOGAN DOLL which then checked off the heels of CLICK COWAN, resulting in both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. MYJOINER underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries found.
BULLSEYE DOUBT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side radius and ulna and was humanely euthanized.
Race 5 – BEENLEIGH LEGAL | 5 GRADE | 431 M
LOGAN’S RUN was best to begin. The entire field with the exemption of LOGAN’S RUN and SPRING ROY raced tight and checked at the first turn, with all losing ground to various degrees. Leaving the top turn, INDIANA PRINCESS checked off heels and lost considerable ground.
INDIANA PRINCESS underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries found.
Race 6 – GREYHOUND GEAR | 5 TH GRADE | 431 M
MIDNIGHT DASHER and STANKY LEG were marginally slow to begin. In the first turn FARMOR IMAGE collided into JOHN SAID THIS causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight JOHN SAID THIS shifted out, causing SWEET KARMAR to be momentarily impeded and lose ground. Approaching the top turn, FARMOR IMAGE and SWEET KARMAR checked, with both greyhounds losing ground as a result. In the top turn SWEET KARMAR checked off heels and lost further ground. STANKY LEG and AFTER GLOW raced tight and checked just prior to the finish.
Race 7 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | 4 /5 GRADE | 520 M
BOGAN BELLE was very slow to begin. DARBY’S GIRL and BROTHER TREVOR checked immediately after the start with both losing momentum. Approaching the top turn SEDUCTIVE SMILE improved onto the heels of DOUBLE SPUR, then checked, with both losing momentum as a result.
Race 8 - Rq Young Guns Ips 520 F | OPEN | 520 M
DEFY and RAY’S REWARD were both slow to begin. At the first turn SHAKEY DIESEL and REGAL TOPAZ collided, then shifted out and collided into CAPTAIN BLUE, RAY’S REWARD and WILDASH JAZZY which were trailing causing all those greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result. DEFY was also inconvenienced, stumbled and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight, DEFY collided heavily into REGAL TOPAZ. SHAKEY DIESEL and WILDASH JAZZY which were trailing, then also collided into REGAL TOPAZ, with all those greyhounds losing significant ground as a consequence. CAPTAIN BLUE and RAY’S REWARD were also inconvenienced and lost ground. Shortly after CAPTAIN BLUE checked off heels and lost further ground. Approaching the top turn SHAKEY DIESEL and REGAL TOPAZ checked and lost considerable ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight REGAL TOPAZ collided into CAPTAIN BLUE, which then checked off the heels of WILDASH JAZZY, with all of those greyhounds losing substantial ground. Shortly after CAPTAIN BLUE stumbled and fell and took no further part in the race.
REGAL TOPAZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries found. WILDASH JAZZY underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries found.
Race 9 – SKY RACING | 5th GRADE | 431 M
CUTE GAMBLER and FARMOR INFERNO were both best to begin. TORAH SPRITE was marginally slow. In the first turn, ELUSIVE FANCY shifted out and checked into SPRING EAGLE, TORAH SPRITE which was trailing collided heavily into SPRING EAGLE, with both greyhounds losing significant ground. POINT SEVEN which was racing to the outside was also inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. Shortly after leaving the turn into the front straight, ELUSIVE FANCY and CUTE GAMBLER checked, with both becoming unbalanced and losing considerable ground.
Race 10 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | 4 /5 GRADE | 288 M
MISTER CHAOS was best to begin, OUTBACK ILLUSION was very slow. Approaching the first turn FOLLOW THE DUK shifted in and impeded and then checked into SECOND GEAR, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight, FOLLOW THE DUK and ELEGANT DUK raced tight and checked on multiple occasions, losing considerable ground as a result.
