Albion Park, Thursday 7th March 2019 – Connections of HAY HAZ, CYN’S MAGIC and WAZZA WHO advised Stewards that subsequent to last night’s performances, and examining the condition of the runners on Friday morning, the greyhounds will now be spelled for a short period.
Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND | Grade M | 288m
CITY GENT began awkwardly and as a result was extremely slow to begin. Approaching the first turn CAWBOURNE SHELLY collided heavily into PRINCE SURFER and fell as a result. PRINCE SURFER lost considerably ground. Leaving the turn into the front straight SCARTNAMUCK DIVA shifted out and bumped into WILDASH GEORGIA on multiple occasions, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. Approaching the finish line AMBY’S HOPE was momentarily impeded and lost momentum. CRAWBOURNE SHELLY – underwent post-race veterinary examination, no apparent injuries found. PRINCE SURFER – underwent post-race veterinary examination, no apparent injuries found.
Race 2 – SKY RACING | Grave NOV | 288m ZAMBORA SPUR was best to begin. Approaching the first turn CHEWING SHOES was severely checked. Leaving the first turn MAYWYN IRENE was checked and lost ground. CHEWING SHOES raced wide through the turn into the front straight.
Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM | Grade 5 | 288m CATCHMEKEITH was best to begin. Approaching the first turn, RED BELLY BLACK checked off heels and lost ground. This also inconvenienced COCONUT LASS, NO CONFIDENCE and CHROME RUN which were all trailing. Leaving the first turn KAKEI checked off heels and lost ground. COCONUT LASS and NO CONFIDENCE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.
Race 4 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM | Grade M | 431m SPUR ON was checked immediately after the start and lost ground. Approaching the first turn BLUE THUNDER BUD and SCOTT NO CLUE checked and lost ground. In the first turn SPRING LANCE improved onto the heels of BLUE THUNDER BUD causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.
Race 5 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 4/5 Grade H | Grade 4/5 | 431m MAGIC GYPSY was best to begin, BUTTERFLY IS SHE was marginally slow. Approaching the turn into the back straight FELICI BEACH and TAYLOR MAID collided and lost ground. Shortly after FERNVALE RUBY and GYPSY’S WISH collided and lost ground.
Race 6 – TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 4/5 Grade H | Grade 4/5 | 431m The entire field raced tight and checked approaching the first turn, resulting in ASH TIDE, KINGSBRAE CLARKEY, SKYLARK BROOKE and RED HOT SPUR to lose considerable ground. In the top turn SKYLARK BROOKE was impeded, checked off heels, shifted out and lost considerable ground. Shortly after KEITH HENRY checked off heels, commenced to yield ground and finished a considerable distance behind the remainder of the field. KEITH HENRY – underwent post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a musculoskeletal injury to the chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days. BIKINI CLOUD – underwent post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a musculoskeletal tarsal sprain to the left hind leg and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
Race 7 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5th Grade F | Grade 5 | 431m IMA TALKER was best to begin, SONIC BOOM was slow. Approaching the first turn NOT TOO BOSSY was checked, became severely unbalanced and lost considerable ground. FABULOUS GEE which was trailing was inconvenienced and also lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight SONIC BOOM was checked. At the top turn VELOCITY LINDER was checked, shifted out and lost ground. At the same time SONIC BOOM improved onto the rear of AFTER GLOW causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. AFTER GLOW – underwent post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained bruising/contusion near the hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.
Race 8 – WHITE ROSE BOARDING KENNELS | Grade BT8 | 431m NEVER A DOUBT was best to begin. SPRING REINA and SPRING WATTLE collided shortly after the start, both lost ground. Leaving the turn into the back straight SPRING REINA and SPRING WATTLE checked and lost further ground.
Race 9 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 4/5 Grade H | Grade 4/5 | 431m REAL JAZZ and QUEEN WERINA were both best to begin. SPRING RITCHIE and IMPATIENT KID were marginally slow. REAL JAZZ and QUEEN WERINA bumped on a number of occasions in the first turn, resulting in REAL JAZZ being checked and losing ground. SHAKEY DIESEL and IMPATIENT KID which were both trailing were severely inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. SMALL JEWEL and QUEEN WERINA bumped on a number of occasions just prior to the finish.
Race 10 – ACCELL THERAPY | Grade 4/5 | 288m KYARNA was best to begin, WILBY ALLEN was marginally slow. At the first turn APACHE VALLE and WILBY ALLEN collided and lost ground.
