Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS | Grade 5 | 520m Instafamous (1) Collided with another runner approaching the first turn. Jemma's Magic (2) Checked off heels approaching the first turn and bumped another runner. One El (3) Slow to begin. Bumped by another runner and forced wide into the first turn. Had its heels contacted approaching the turn out of the back straight and was checked. Velostar (5) checked off heels approaching the turn out of the back straight and was checked. Boston Angel (6) Collided with another runner approaching the first turn. Collided with another runner through the first turn and was checked. Turned its head inwards and made muzzle contact to another runner over the concluding stages of the event. Greyhound charged under GAR69 Marring first offence. The greyhound will be stood down for a period of 28 days at Ipswich and will need to complete a satisfactory steward’s trial. Race 8 – GJ WALSH & CO | Best 8 | 431m Hurucan (1) Collided with another runner through the first turn and was severely checked. Smart Werina (2) Quick to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a small spike wound to the near hind toe, no stand down period imposed. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the greyhound to have sustained multiple fractures to the offside hock. As a consequence the greyhound was humanely euthanized.
