General: The club advised the track surface was power harrowed to a depth of 60mm on Thursday, 2 January 2020. ________________________________
Race 1 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN 2 431m 1 Proxima Midnight – bumped with Lock It Lachie, which was shifting inwards, over the concluding stages and was momentarily hampered. 2 Magic Sue – bumped by another runner when rounding the turn into the back straight and lost ground. 3 Jet Black Beach – bumped with another runner shortly after the start and lost ground. Checked out off heels through the first turn and hampered runners to its outside. 4 Zipping Flick – bumped with another runner shortly after the start and lost ground. Tightened between runners through the first turn, was checked and lost ground. 5 Lock It Lachie – bumped with another runner on jumping and was subsequently slow to begin. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Checked off heels when entering the turn out of the back straight. Shifted inwards over the concluding stages bumping with Proxima Midnight and becoming momentarily hampered. 6 Aerobic Tank 7 Three Horn – bumped with another runner on jumping and was subsequently slow to begin. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. 8 She's Sassy – bumped with another runner through the first turn and lost ground.
Race 2 – TAB NOVICE 2 431m 3 Ultra Dior – tightened for room through the first turn and was momentarily hampered. Bumped by another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight and was checked. 4 Hard Taskmaster – bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight and was checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed split webbing on the nearside hind foot and was stood down for 14 days. 10/5 After All – slow to begin. 9/6 Ringbark Ruby – bumped with another runner through the first turn and was checked. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight and was checked. 7 Double Return – bumped with another runner through the first turn and was checked. Checked off heels through the turn into the front straight. 8 Big Man Rusty – checked off heels when rounding the turn into the back straight.
Race 3 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM GRADE 5 (1) 2 431m 4 Lady Opal – checked off heels and bumped with several runners through the first turn and lost considerable ground. 5 Can Delight – bumped with another runner shortly after the start and lost ground. 6 Coopes – buffeted between runner shortly after the start and was checked. 7 Click Cowan – slipped at the start and was slow to begin. Tightened between runners approaching the turn out of the back straight and was momentarily hampered.
Race 4 – SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 2 431m 1 Shakey Diesel – shifted out when approaching the first turn, collided heavily with another and was checked. Tightened for room when rounding the turn into the back straight, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. 2 Rory Lee – collided with another runner through the first turn and was checked. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn into the back straight and was checked. 3 Farmor Bossy 4 Centigram – tightened for room through the first turn, collided with anther runner, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. 5 Zabdon Charlie – tightened for room through the first turn, checked and lost ground. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn into the back straight and was checked. 9/6 Branwell Lee – collided with another runner through the first turn and was checked. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn into the back straight and was checked. 7 Urban Folk – collided with another runner through the first turn and was checked. 8 Farmor Crownies – collided with another runner through the first turn and was severely checked.
Race 5 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 2 520m 2 Misty Haze – checked off heels shortly after the start and lost ground. Tightened for room approaching the first 3 Ned's Chance – checked off heels shortly after the start and lost ground. Stewards questioned trainer J. Lawson on the action of Ned’s Chance over the concluding stages of the event. After considering all the evidence Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied the greyhound had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt. 6 Velocity Bettina – bumped with another runner when entering the first turn and was checked. 7 Ballymac Jay – bumped with another runner at the start and was momentarily hampered. Raced wide in the back straight. 8 Mel Buzz – bumped with another runner at the start and was momentarily hampered.
Race 6 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 2 520m 1 Lucky Hero – slow to begin. Took several awkward strides when rounding the turn into the back straight and lost ground. 5 Royal Reward – checked at the start. Shifted inwards over the concluding stages and collided with another runner. Stewards questioned connections of Royal Reward with respect to the greyhound’s actions over the concluding stages of the event. After considering all the evidence Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt. 6 Night Shift – slow to begin. Checked at the start. 8 Master Douglas – a post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Master Douglas was stood down pursuant to GAR 69A for failing to pursue. As this was the greyhounds first offence under this rule it was issued a 28 day stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing.
Race 7 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 2 520m 2 Haigslea Flyer – raced wide in the back straight. 3 Maywyn Ulysses – collided with another runner approaching the first turn, was severely checked and lost ground. Checked off heels through the turn into the back straight. 4 Len's Out – slow into stride. 5 Final Plea – collided with another runner approaching the first turn, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. 6 Mob Deep – collided with another runner approaching the first turn, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. 7 Valentino Fox – checked off heels approaching the first turn. 8 Alpha Styx – raced wide for a majority of the event.
Race 8 – CORPORATE DOLLARS CHALLENGE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 2 520m 1 Head Bairn – checked out off heels approaching the first turn and hampered runners to its outside. Checked off heels when entering the front straight. 3/9 Twig Buzz – hampered by another runner when approaching the first turn and lost ground. 4 Lady Xena – took an awkward stride approaching the turn out of the back straight, lost ground through the turn and into the front straight and tailed the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside pin muscle and was stood down from racing for 14 days. 5 Split Sound – hampered by another runner when approaching the first turn and lost ground. 6 Townson Beach – hampered by another runner when approaching the first turn. 8 It Ain't Wazza – checked off heels through the first turn.
Race 9 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 0-3 WINS 3 630m 9/3 Cassador – declared a late scratching at 2.39pm when trainer M. Bourke reported the greyhound was ill with scours. Mr Bourke was advised to provide a veterinary certificate for the greyhound. 4 Bunning Boy – slow to begin. 5 Junior Jet – momentarily hampered when rounding the turn into the back straight. 6 Zipping Blondie – slow to begin.
Race 10 – TAB GRADE 5 (2) 2 431m 1 Oaks Little Miss – checked and lost ground through the first turn. 2 Velostar – severely checked and lost considerable ground through the first turn. Bumped with another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight. 3 Fire Drill – slow to begin. Checked and lost ground through the first turn. Raced wide for a majority of the event. 4 Lady Surprise - Checked and lost ground through the first turn. Tightened for room and checked when entering the back straight. Bumped with another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight. 5 Boy Lloyd – slow to begin. Severely checked and lost considerable ground through the first turn. 6 Three Squares - Checked and lost ground through the first turn. Bumped by another runner when entering the back straight and lost ground. 7 Farrah's Fling - Checked and lost ground through the first turn. ________________________________ |
