Other Comments / Explanations: “Due to Government advice around COVID-19, in accordance with GAR 51(10), the Stewards directed the Starter to box the greyhounds into the starting boxes in the following order, 1 & 5, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8 for all races”
Stewards followed up with licensed trainer Mr J Bowe regarding the injury of the Slick Raven who was engaged Race 5 at Albion Park on the 6/4/2020. Mr J Bowe stated that Slick Raven was in the care of his veterinarian and had undergone successful surgery. Stewards requested Mr Bowe continue to update stewards with Slick Raven’s recovery.
Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN 2 431m 1 Off Break – Bumped entering the back straight. Bumped in the top turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a superficial abrasion to the nearside hind leg but was given no stand down period. 5 In And Out – Bumped shortly after the start. Bumped entering the back straight. Bumped in the top turn. 6 Zipping Flick – Bumped shortly after the start. 7 Cliffy Makutu – Bumped shortly after the start.
Race 2 – SKY RACING NOVICE 2 431m 2 Iron Bar Kelly – Checked shortly after the start. Bumped entering the front straight. Checked approaching the finishing line. 9 (3) Little Engine – Checked shortly after the start. Checked leaving the 1st turn. Bumped entering the front straight. Checked approaching the finishing line. 4 Tahiti Beach – Clipped heels and raced awkwardly rounding the turn into the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injuries. Stewards had concerns with the greyhound action rounding the turn into the back straight, but was given the benefit of the doubt because stewards couldn’t be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had offended under any rules of racing. 5 Mad Invite – Checked shortly after the start. 6 Tender Talk – Checked leaving the 1st turn. Checked approaching the turn into the back straight.

Checked leaving the 1st turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. 7 My Girl Maisy – Bumped shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 1st turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to nearside hip and stood down for 14 days.

Race 5 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 0-3 WINS 3 630m 1 Preferred Lies – Checked entering the back straight. 2 Logan Belle – Checked approaching the turn out of the front straight on the 1st occasion. 3 Split Sound – Best away. 4 Spasmodic Star – Checked approaching the turn out of the front straight on the 1st occasion. Got on to the hind quarters of another runner in the top turn. 9 (5) Annika – Clipped heels entering the back straight. Dragged down by another runner in the top turn. Underwent a post-race a veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injuries. 7 Rough Nut – Bumped approaching the 1st turn. 8 Mini Sox – Bumped approaching the 1st turn.
