6 Regal Chivers – Ran out towards another runner in the home straight. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed a back strain stood down for a period of ten (10) days. Stewards spoke to Trainer Shane Topping regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. After viewing the video replay and considering submissions from the trainer and the veterinary report, acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Regal Chivers was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). The greyhound must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing but only after the 10 day stand down period has expired. |
