Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2)   288m

1 Tiger Shian – Severely checked and fell entering the home turn. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have a serious injury to the near foreleg leg the greyhound was euthanised on humane grounds. This matter will now be referred to the greyhound injury review panel.

2 Jayda's Reward – Checked entering the home turn.

3 Mahi Mahi Miss – Slow to begin, checked entering the home turn.

4 Adventure Queen – Checked entering the home turn.

5 Tiger Knight – Became unbalanced and shifted out rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an off side hind leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

6 Barefoot Slapper – Checked entering the home turn.

10 Hotshot Miss (7) – Slow to begin, severely checked and fell entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

2 Grace's Secret – Bumped with another runner rounding the first turn, faulted in its action and gave ground in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side hind leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

1 Red Burner – Checked and lost ground in the back straight.

2 Sparkling Melba – Slow to begin, checked rounding the home turn, bumped with another runner rounding the home turn.

3 Fabulous Gal – Checked in the back straight.

7 Sea Daddy Brett – Slow to begin, checked approaching the home turn, checked then bumped with another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an off hind leg injury the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Brent Hazelgrove regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. After viewing the video footage and considered submissions from the trainer, Stewards deemed the greyhound had turned its head outwards making contact with another runner. Therefore, Steward’s invoked GAR 69(1) marring 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
