General: Stewards reinspected the track after race 6 and deemed the racing surface safe for racing.  

 

Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE GRADE 5 (1) 288m

 

3 Songar Valentine – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

4 Herman Maze Key – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was severely checked losing considerable ground.

 

5 Farmor Mercedes – Bumped with another runner rounding the first turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

6 Cake Is Bad – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and was checked.

 

8 Crown Tina – Bumped with another runner rounding the first turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING GRADE 5 (2) 288m

 

2 Invincible Gal – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was severely checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

7 Jaguarundi – Slow to begin.

1 Alpha Ruler – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

3 Chad's Boy – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the off fore toe and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

4 Leo's Letters – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and lost forward momentum.

 

8 Peanut Fever – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

9 Underwater (6) – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost forward momentum.

 

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS GRADE 5 (4) 288m

 

3 Cody's Golden – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

4 Living Spirit – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

5 Outback Energy – Bumped by another runner rounding the first turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

7 Savannah Bronze – Bumped by another runner and forced to race wide rounding the first turn.

 

8 Fred's Flame – Faltered in action rounding the home turn when appeared to have sustained an injury, taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed a fracture to the offside hock and was stood down from racing for 90 days. The greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing next. Fred’s Flame was administered pain relief and bandaged by the on-course veterinarian. Stewards were advised by trainer Mr Barry Taylor that the greyhound will be taken to Brisbane Pet Surgery tomorrow under the care of Dr Scot Plummer for further assessment. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Racing Injury Review Panel.

 

 

Race 5 - BODHI INK TATTOO GALLERY MIXED 4/5 288m

 

4 Par Five – Slow to begin.

 

6 Centigram – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.

 

7 Desperado Lad – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and was checked.

 

8 Drink Shandies – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn and was checked.

1 Ear Piercing – Brushed the running rail shortly after the start and commenced to lose ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards questioned trainer Mr Mick Campbell regarding the greyhound’s racing actions approaching the first turn. After hearing submissions and viewing the footage, Stewards gave Ear Piercing the benefit of the doubt that it had contravened any rule.

 

3 Luminosity – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start and was checked losing ground.

 

4 Mumma's Girl – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.

 

6 Harleen Quinzel – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and fell taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

8 My Sister Dotti – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn and was severely checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the offside wrist and was stood down from racing for 28 days. The greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing next. My Sister Dotti was administered pain relief and bandaged by the on-course veterinarian. Stewards were advised by trainer Mr Darren Johnstone that the greyhound will be taken to Brisbane Pet Surgery tomorrow under the care of Dr Scot Plummer for further assessment. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Racing Injury Review Panel.

 

 

Race 7 - GJ WALSH & CO MIXED 2/3 288m

 

4 Ringbark Rattler – Proved difficult to load into the boxes and delayed the start of the race. Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR52(2) invoked that Ringbark Rattler will be boxed first for future race starts until satisfied that the greyhound is no longer difficult to box. Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

5 Special Edition – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn.

 

7 Tracy's Shadow – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

 

 

Race 8 - WHITE ROSE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 1/2 288m

 

4 Hope Sure Can – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

5 Little Ferrari – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the home turn and was checked losing ground.

 

6 Hope's Golden – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn and was checked.

2 Ringbark Alice – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

 

5 Dixie Zambora – Clipped on the heels by the fallen runner rounding the first turn and was checked.

 

8 Dynamite Travis – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

 

Race 10 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND GRADE 5 (6) 288m

 

2 Lozza's Return – Bumped with another runner at the top of the home straight.

 

6 Bust Ups – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

7 Aerobic System – Bumped by another runner and forced to race wide through the first turn. Bumped with another runner at the top of the home straight.

6 Tuta Poppy – Checked across the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.

 

8 Rolling Smoke – Slow to begin. Checked across the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.

 

9 Red Burner (3) – Tightened for racing room approaching the home turn and was checked losing ground.
