Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN (1) 431m

1 Cosmic Tom Tom – Slow to begin, checked on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

2 Sirius Suzie – Checked on the first turn, checked approaching the home turn.

3 Mahi Mahi Miss – Slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling in the catching pen, which revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Kayla Ollerton regarding the greyhound’s starting manners. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule but will be monitored at future events.

4 Stone Cold Blue – Checked on the first turn.

6 My Shrek – Slow to begin, checked on the first turn.

7 Hayley Shian – Checked on the first turn.

8 Dominant Pride – Checked on the first turn, checked approaching the home turn.

4 White Claw – Checked on the first turn, became unbalanced approaching the home turn.

6 My Ninja – Checked on the first turn, checked entering the home turn. Proved difficult to box at the start of the race. Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 106(2) advised trainer Marie Westwood that the greyhound will now be boxed first for future race starts.

7 Sid's Mate – Checked on the first turn, checked rounding the home turn.

6 Spring Maple – Bumped soon after the start, checked on the first turn, checked entering the home turn then gave ground and trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side carpal injury the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
