General: During testing of the lure pre-race meeting, a mechanical failure was detected in the switch system for the 600m boxes. Subsequently Race 4 was started manually.

Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 2 520m

1 Sirius Bill Checked off heels rounding the turn into the back straight.

3 Fawn Rocket Man Checked shortly after the start. Checked off heels rounding the turn into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near side calf muscle 10 days stand down from racing.  

4 Belle Bar Cool Bumped shortly after the start.

5 Sirius Rodney Checked shortly after the start.

8 Farmor Smitten Checked off heels entering the turn out of the back straight.

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 2 520m

2 Sirius Lilly Checked entering the turn out of the front straight.

4 Bar Cool Rocks Checked entering the turn out of the front straight.

6 Sirius Sandy Checked entering the turn out of the front straight. Checked off heels passing the middle of the front straight. Turned its head to the inside away from the lure and shifted in bumping another runner approaching the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Darren Johnstone, the trainer of Sirius Sandy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 124(1) Sirius Sandy was found in breach of failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. As this was Sirius Sandy’s 1^st offence the greyhound was suspended for 28 days at Ipswich and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 124(1), before any future nomination will be accepted.

4 Honey Bar Cool Bumped shortly after the start. Checked off heels entering the home straight.

5 Our Plumber Bumped shortly after the start. Bumped entering the turn out of the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore toe, 14 days stand down from racing.

7 Big Nose Ted Bumped entering the turn out of the front straight.

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MIXED 4/5 3 630m

1 Underwater Checked and lost balance entering the turn out of the front straight.

4 Buckeye Bullet Checked and lost balance entering the turn out of the front straight.
