Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 2 520m

 

2 Sirius Wilson – Entering the back turn was checked. Along the home straight on the final occasion turned its head inwards and made muzzle contact with the inside runner. Stewards spoke to trainer Darren Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation and reviewing the video replay, stewards deemed that SIRIUS WILSON did make head contact with the greyhound to its inside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule SIRIUS WILSON was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

4 Valhalla – Was slow to begin. Entering the back turn was checked.

 

5 Velocity Shar – Shortly after the start was checked. Approaching the first turn was tightened. Entering the back turn was tightened and checked. Along the home straight on the final occasion was tightened and checked. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near side pin muscle injury and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

 

6 Digital Sea - Shortly after the start was checked.

 

7 Sirius Zoe - Shortly after the start was checked.

 

8 Whispering Abbey - Shortly after the start was checked.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE (1) 2 520m

 

1 Sent From Heaven – Entering the first turn improved onto heels.

 

3 Keep Tracking – Entering the first turn improved onto heels and shortly after was dragged down from the runner behind. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

4 Rebel Blaster – Entering the first turn was dragged down from the runner behind. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

7 Go Big Girl – Entering the first turn was checked.

 

8 Sirius Graham – Entering the first turn checked around heels.

1 Piazza Minerva – Along the back straight had its heels clipped from behind.

 

3 Flat Broke – Along the home straight on the first occasion was checked and then fell. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

7 Hot Tyson – Leaving the boxes shifted in sharply. Along the back straight improved onto heels then checked. Through the back turn was checked. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near side pin muscle injury and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

 

8 Fernvale Flash – Approaching the first turn was tightened and checked.

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MA5 2 520m

 

1 Oh So Bro – Through the first turn was checked. Along the back straight bumped with another runner on multiple occasions A post-race veterinarian examination revealed an off-hind leg injury and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

2 Sky And Thunder – Began awkwardly. Entering the first turn checked around heels.

 

4 Easy Eddie - Along the back straight bumped with another runner on multiple occasions.

 

5 Bailey – Along the back straight raced wide. Along the home straight on the final occasion raced wide.

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 3 630m

 

4 Set The Standard – Exiting the first turn lost ground appearing injured. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed an offside back leg injury and was stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a solo veterinarian trial prior to any future nomination. This incident will be referred to the injury review panel.

4 Jameson Bay – Shortly after the start was checked. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near hip injury and was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

6 Spring Sonic – Approaching the winning post on the final occasion checked around heels.

 

Race 7 - PAST MEMBERS FINAL OPEN 2 431m

 

1 Spring Rock – Exiting the back turn checked around heels.

 

4 Pokie Payout – Shortly after the start was checked. Exiting the first turn was checked.

 

5 Identity Thief - Shortly after the start was checked.

 

9 Spring Bistro – Was slow to begin. Entering the back straight was checked and then stumbled. At-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

1 Locked On Scotch – Late scratching, TAB notified @ 4:38pm

 

2 Ninetymile Queen – Entering the first turn was checked.

Race 10 - FEDERAL MORGAN AT STUD GRADE 5 (2) 2 520m

 

2 Energetic Cloud – Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was tightened and checked.

 

3 Ruby Shines - Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was tightened and checked. Along the back straight raced wide. Exiting the back turn checked around heels.

 

Race 11 – TAB GRADE 5 (3) 2 520m

 

3 Our Sensation – Entering the first turn shifted out.

 

4 Royal Look – Entering the first turn was taken up the track by the inside runner.

 

5 Dashing Dipper – Was slow to begin. Along the back straight raced wide.

 

6 Moonshine Babe – A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near side shoulder injury and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

7 City Way – Slipped leaving the boxes then stumbled.

2 Cow Palace – Approaching the winning post visibly eased. Along the back straight raced wide. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near side hip injury and was stood down from racing for 10 days. Stewards charged the greyhound under GAR125 first offence for failing to pursue by reason of injury 10 days all tracks and will need to complete a satisfactory trial before nominating for any future events.

 

4 My Melanie – Entering the first turn was checked.

 

5 Spring Betty - Entering the first turn was checked. Exiting the back turn turned its head inwards and made muzzle contact with the inside runner. Along the home straight on the final occasion turned its head inwards and made muzzle contact with the inside runner. Stewards spoke to trainer Felicia Guymer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation and reviewing the video replay, stewards deemed that SPRING BETTY did make head contact with the greyhound to its inside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule SPRING BETTY was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a near side hip injury and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

6 Petite Swagger - Entering the first turn was checked.

 

8 Galway Clancy – Along the back straight raced wide.
