Race 1 – TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 431m

1 Sensory Vision – Checked in the first turn. Gave ground entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside hock and was subsequently stood down for 14 days.

2 Black Max – Checked in the first turn.

4 Bahama Boy – Extremely slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Ms J Cuttlack regarding the starting manners of Bahama Boy. After hearing evidence, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s starting manners.

7 Diva Signal – Checked in the first turn.

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431m

3 Insignificant – Checked approaching the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off-hind webbing and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

5 Angry Angie – Checked in the first turn.

6 Bo Katan – Checked in the first turn.

8 Phoenix Promise – Checked in the first turn.

6 Heckle Night Out – Checked in the first turn. Checked entering the back straight.

7 Swift Zach – Checked in the first turn. Checked entering the back straight.

2 Shian Suzie – Marred by another runner over the concluding stages.

3 Rosdue Tyson – Checked entering the first turn.

5 Majestic Man – Checked entering the first turn.

7 Spot On Mate – Checked entering the first turn.

8 Galloping Black – Turned its head and made muzzle contact with a runner to its inside over the concluding stages. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr D Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Galloping Black did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its inside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. Galloping Black was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Due to an incident in the catching pen, Galloping Black will require two catchers in future events.

Race 7 – RED DOG MECHANIX 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 520m

3 Fast And Fabio – Checked in the first turn.

4 Seldom Seen Kid – Checked in the first turn.

8 Get Carter – Eased in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer G Franklin regarding the greyhound’s actions in the home straight, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Franklin, stewards deemed Get Carter had eased and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. Get Carter was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

1 Carroway – Checked shortly after the start.
